## Coda Reviews
  ### 1. Transformative tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The best way to organize and streamline your work, processes, notes, and projects. A must- have. Very customizable and adaptable. Unlike many platforms, which only allow you to create checklists or spreadsheets, Coda is completely open-ended, and adaptable to the nature of your work.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The platform can be slow and clunky at times, especially if there is a lot of data in your doc. Notion is a comparable platform, and is more fluid and fast. Unable to send people links to specific pages/ tables- the person will see the entire doc. Limited ability to export to other formats (e.g. exporting to PDF, word, excel) unless you are willing to use packs, which are not accessible to people with non- technical backgrounds. Can only edit the doc if you sign up for an account, which makes it difficult to get buy-in for this platform from teams and workplaces that have never seen this platform before.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizations and individuals are increasingly being asked to do more at work. People manage more tasks and more complexity in their workday. Projects are more ambitious, complex, and collaborative. Coda makes managing, organizing, and streamlining this mass of work easy. This is the main, if not the only, tool you need to rely on to get things done.

  ### 2. Easy to use, great interface!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin L. | Senior Account Manager, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is really easy to use with a great interface. I primarily used it for wiki purposes and it served it's function really well!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

No dislikes that I've experienced at this point.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating a knowledge base wiki that is easy to manage and keep organized

  ### 3. The one tool we needed to solve our process bottlenecks.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda allows us to store key artifacts from our team and track our whole product lifecycle in one manageable document. We have gone from using two or three tools to one product to manage our whole process.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I wish it was easier to share tables across Docs. The cross-doc pack is helpful but limited in scalability and functionality. If there was a way to spin up tables across docs easier in the future, I am all for it!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda allows us to nest tables and do table lookups to pull all relevant data into one spot. Coda enables us to gather key artifacts and information about our process and outputs and share it in one view.

  ### 4. Reliable, ahead of its competition

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Coda?**

One suite for most of the company's operations. CRM, operations, strat sessions, even communication among the team members. Also very affordable in comparison to its competitors. CODA has also made a lot of micro and macro level improvements over the last year.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It is hard to use the word "dislike" about Coda because it delivers on many fronts. So all shortcomings fall in the category of "requested features" like default support of UTF-8 characters.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Start practicing right away. Use tutorials and leverage the community.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Coda as a one-stop place for running my company's operations, sales, marketing efforts. Same for the strategic brainstorming sessions, and more and more - internal and external communication.

  ### 5. Haven't been this excited about a tool for a while

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brent M. | Maker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is very easy to use and full of functionality. I love the ease with which I can get a helpful document started. So many templates and examples.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Coda needs to implement an easy single click to get back to my base area. Hate hitting the back button or back arrows.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Been trying to use Google Docs and Teams and while they have different functionality, the formatting in Coda gets me useful documents easy to act on.

  ### 6. Coda is the best thing to ever happen to our team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Margo G. | Senior Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is so easy to get started with, use, and continue learning throughout your time with the product. The keyboard shortcuts make doc creation 10x faster than Google Docs.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It can be a bit slow for a page to load so its hard to toggle between pages quickly - definitely cant toggle through docs quickly at all, as you can only view one doc at a time

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All of our documents and information for different projects lived in different places. Our team works on 1-2 projects at a time on a rolling basis, so we needed a place to keep our documentation so we could stay organized.

  ### 7. A very good productivity tool. A software for all product needs.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tannmay S G. | Product manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The fact that it allows us to use the core of all the necessary software in one place makes it absolutely groundbreaking. Packs are the second best thing making it a one-stop solution for all needs. Finally, the unique pricing structure is boon for small teams.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Grammarly doesn't work with Coda. furthermore, they seem to have some kind of issue with the auto correct on windows. If you enter the word suggested by the windows interface it doesn't change the word but adds the whole word in addition to whatever you have written.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a product manager, it is a very time-consuming to maintain 20 different files for the same feature Coda helps very much to clean the clutter and be more productive. The pricing structure of coda allows our small team to be more efficient at a very good cost.

  ### 8. It's an indespensable tool for me and my team!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ana Karina H. | Social Media Manager - Customer Service , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I love how customizable and unique CODA is yet similar to Google. I love and appreciate as an Administration position that I can stay organized and have all the pros of Google along with more customizable options to have all types of documents together in one page!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

At first, it was difficult for me to understand how to use the tool but after examining the correct way to use it it was a piece of cake.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me keep my projects in order and keeps my entire team connected.

  ### 9. CODA it's a cool tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmitriy E. | Technical Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

For a small company, CODA is a very flexible tool for accounting and analyzing data, automating business processes. Easy enough to learn with no programming experience. With programming experience, you can do fantastic things. Of course, there are pitfalls, but the project is developing and this gives hope.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Not yet very friendly tools for printing documents or converting them to *.PDF (but they are there). At times updates break the familiar look and feel of documents without warning. Solvable, but not pleasant.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Business process automation for a small manufacturing company: accounting and management of orders, bill of materials, production cycles, sales and shipments.Without increasing management we manage more complex tasks

  ### 10. Does what confluence does except more with better support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam L. | Head of Customer Experience, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The ability to incorporate data/tables from outside sources. Having dynamic tables eliminates needs for files on sharepoint. It can be a place for both process and content storage

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

* They need private pages like confluence

*Ddoc maker license is not the greatest system for billing

* Ability to Lock/Unlock Pages by non-Doc Makers

* Global admin permission to delete, archive, and move Docs created by others

* Ability to block/turn off Doc-Maker trial option for users

* “Global Universe” view of all Docs in a workspace

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing need for ppt, increasing data processing and analytics in app and overall being a cheaper platform than confluence. Could be more as we continue to scale

  ### 11. Coda is my dream software!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa P. | Life Coach and Podcast Host, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The thing I love most about Coda is how I can organize information. I can seamlessly structure my thoughts in a way that's easy for me to navigate by leveraging docs, tables, and pages/sub pages. The endless ways I can view information makes Coda my favorite.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I don't like that I'm not as well versed in the formulas as I'd like to be. I'd also love more color flexibility at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

If you want the flexibility of a document with the organization of a spreadsheet, Coda is for you.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Coda, I felt like I had notes and projects in 10 different programs. Coda allows me to bring everything into one place to better manage everything I'm working on. Coda also allows me to create unique interactive experiences for clients, like question generators, without needing to know how to code.

  ### 12. Great place to build knowledge bases for mid-size teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edgard A. | Sr. Technical Lead / Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

- Real-time collaboration, great for brain storming ideas with the team
- Packs that integrate the tools with other tools from our workflow (jira, google docs, slack, etc...)
- Ease of use

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

search within the document, especially in large documents, seems like the feature was developed for small documents with just a few results

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowledge base for our team. when we want to know about some feature of our product coda is the go-to place to get that info.
Sometimes I use it as a kind of internal blog for our area. where I put posts, guides and how-tos on very technical issues.

  ### 13. Powerful Editor for Complex Docs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nuff . | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I use Coda to track things like submission calls and love that I can automate things like deadline alerts, adding to my calendar and tracking status. Additionally, Coda makes it easy to take data from a table and turn them into charts, a Kanban board, a task list etc.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Docs can be a little heavy/laggy at times. Some things require a great deal of hacking (although the fact they are hackable is a plus). Unlike something like Notion, it's not as straightforward to create a database in which every entry has its own page.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to create Wiki-style knowledge stores and project-level notes which all link to each other. While task management is possible with Coda, I find I don't use it for that as often. It's a great place to store centralised resources.

  ### 14. Coda is all you need for your team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex V. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda makes easy building complex docs to gather all the info you need in one place.

Thanks to their tables, automations and easy to grasp interface, building everything that you need is extremely easy.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The main issue is that you cannot have infinite pages inside a Table element, unlike their competition.
Apart from that it's got you covered in practically every way.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is provinding a central piece to manage all my team's info in one place.

From documentation to project management to manage my financials in one Doc.

Coda is the tool we use for centralising everything.

  ### 15. Flexible & Fast Documentation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is easy to learn, share, and collaborate with team members on. I love the /shortcuts and the ability to embed tables and videos, collapse subtext, and create forms.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

There are two primary areas I'd like to see improved with Coda. First, a better directory to organize company documentation for ease of reference. The second area is around excess configuration around notifications. That said, their support team is great to work with and support documentation robust.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda helps quickly brainstorm ideas and present them in a visually digestible way. The tool brings remote teams together and is easily adaptable to house information in many different formats.

  ### 16. Best tool for an adult with ADHD

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ty S. | Executive Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I love that not only can you link to other pages internally, Coda works with several tools like ClickUp.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I know there aren't any intentions of creating a desktop app, the Chrome shortcut closes fully when you try to close the window. It reloads and starts from the top each time it's opened and I forget where I was.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me manage projects and our production calendar.

  ### 17. Coda as a Document Control Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyanshu M. | Devops engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda offers in doc code format, easy styling and sharing of documents, and can be integrated with Slack to have notifications.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Nothing as of now, serves all my requirements

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda personally helps to create and organize docs, on the team level we use it as a document base and knowledge base and also to track our goals.

  ### 18. Coda has changed the organization already

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Easy integration with multiple systems. Salesforce is our CRM and avoiding multientry was key. We can do things that even Salesforce doesn't allow us to do.

I tried multiple solutions before choosing, and coda was the most flexible one.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Truly, not a lot. It is not dummies proof to create new cool docs at first, but people will learn fast by playing with it. Some stuff requires some formulas that are not easy for everyone.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda helped me to build an inventory software for a concept that is very unique. It also allows us to display Salesforce data in a mobile friendly view. Allows more collaboration.

  ### 19. Coda can do it all!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hilary H. | Rev Ops Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda combines quantitative and qualitative capabilities that I couldn't find or accomplish with any one vendor before. Anything I have tried to do, has been possible in Coda.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Would love to have the ability to have filter views! As of right now, if one page is filtered by any user it is filtered for everyone - would love to have this more specific to a given person.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is making it possible for us to have the needed visibility and accountability in order to hit our deadlines for annual turn when it comes to rep's books/quotas globally.

  ### 20. Incredibly powerful tool, vital to our agency.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David F. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Its data capabilities and integrations with other tools makes it a key component of our agency's operations. We use it to organize projects and keep consolidate all of our systems in one place.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

We need the ability to trigger webhooks and make API calls from within page elements such as buttons. It would unlock a whole new wave of power that isn't currently available.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for everything in our agency, from project management, client portals and feature tracking. We also use it to track client payments and calculate the % payout to the team.

  ### 21. the tool to manage people all over the fucking world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sanshiro C. | ceo, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

how easy it is to build an entire tracking and management empire, in addition to how clean the design is and the speed of the learning curve is a gem

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

probably the dark theme is very neglected, I would like the design to be a little different since the color palette doesn't match so well and it depresses me to see it so bad

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we have been able to manage work teams of more than 100 people in a single account, with access even for clients, paying a fraction of what we used to pay with other tools

  ### 22. Nice architecture, bad functionality, very bad customer service

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandru George D. | Customer Service Representative / QA, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

- the database flexibility
- the views
- conditional formatting
- doc maker subscription plan
- the community

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

- customer service - 10 weeks for a 48 hrs issue and some other weeks for other issues that could be solved very easy
- very buggy and unclear - some formulas work from the custom formula field, but don't from button settings. and vice versa
- the import is hard and buggy, but the export is horrific
- response time issues

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a small database with 100-200 rows works fine, then it's starting to glitch

  ### 23. Like a spreadsheet but soooo much better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Petros D. | Health Safety Security Environment Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is so fast to code. You can just hop in and create in mere minutes. Either its a doc, a collaborative table, or a whole app, you can do it. Add those to the connections to other apps and you've got a proper powerhouse.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Not a lot! Probably a bit better pdf support! Can also get a bit sluggish on an old and slow computer but that's most modern pages nowadays. Other than that's its great.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Awesome for building quick customs tools and databases.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda helps bridge the gap between homemade business solutions and single-use specialised apps by allowing you to build something custom but also easy. I can get my clients on board in a snap and build a business ecosystem right in coda.

  ### 24. Best of both worlds! No-Code + Coding

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor A. | Game Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is the most promising platform in the market for all things tracking, note-taking, project management, knowledge base and much more.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The only thing currently missing from Coda in my opinion are quick native ways to capture information, such as a fast Android widget.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team dashboard, project management, task aggregator, knowledge base, information capture and much more.

  ### 25. Very powerful Software with almost unlimited potential

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stéphane B. | Programmeur Outil, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

you can create List of objects and link them together, you can also create formulas, it's like Excel on steroids

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I wish you had more choice when formatting pages

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Coda to centralize my personal database. My music, my movies, my tasks and many other things. Having a central web app for all that is very useful

  ### 26. I am building my first Doc Application to be published.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lloyd R. | Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

It empowers non coders to build very useful documents to automate workflows/business operations. I also like the fact that document editors and users are free.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

For some people, it is hard to wrap their heads around it.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can use docs(Project Management, CRMs) other users create, and I don't have to pay for the users of my docs.

  ### 27. I love Coda

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joost M. | Business owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Very easy to get started, very useful at any level of expertise

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Documentation could be better for people that want to use all the possibilities Coda offers, but who are not per users yet.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda allows me to alter my doc/app and at the same time continue to use it to run business. That is pretty unique!

  ### 28. Coda is great for teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I love how flexible Coda is. It can serve a variety of use cases across our team, has a small learning curve and a great knowledge base to help get you started. Our whole team uses coda in a variety of ways and it has become a great resource for us.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The templates are ok, some of them require some more in depth knowledge of functions which can be hard. Organizing pages is fine but the system could be a bit better.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda helps us track our meetings, product specs, retrospectives and development releases.

  ### 29. Coda is really all that it describes itself to be

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy T. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The support staff are phenomenal! Questions about features or bugs are answered very quickly. I really enjoy using Coda for organizing my personal projects.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

When trying to configure some of their more complex offerings, it can be difficult to tell if something is missing, if there is a bug, or if you are doing something wrong, and this can take some time to research before hitting up the Support button.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seamlessly having all your dynamic information in one place without needing to context switch or having too many tabs open

  ### 30. It is an incredibly organized and intuitive process AND document management interface.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan W. | Ryan Wright, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Wide and deep functionality creation options. Takes a while to build a full system inside of it, but it's absolutely worth it for the customization offered.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Some simple tasks, like copying rows or even tables from Coda to Spreadsheets needs to be made easier.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves for information chaos and resource location chaos.

  ### 31. An amazing collaboration tool and project organizer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bobby C. | Director, Brand Marketing and Product Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda has saved me hours if not days of time by being able to create centralized hubs for a project or product where all corresponding documents and materials can live. The ability to embed PDFs, Google docs, Figma screens, and other great integrations have allowed it to serve as a great landing page for any project our marketing team is working on

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The learning curve for Coda is fairly substantial. While the help center is very well built out, from my experience it is very difficult to get others to use Coda natively without extensive internal training.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing all releated documents, spreadsheets, and assets in one central place that is easy to find and navigate

  ### 32. It's simply excellent!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caio A. | Customer Success Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The possibilities with Coda are great. I can easily build my whole document and add as much information as I want. Besides that, collaborating with the team is great, I can exchange information and make sure that they understand all the details without the need for synchrony communication.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

That are some dangerous behaviors such as pressing cmd+A selecting all text, and not only one section as it's possible to do with Notion. Besides that, I feel that some default items like a callout would help greatly.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing information with the team, ensuring all the points are clear to the whole team without the need for synchrony communication. Documentation and general team alignment are possible with Coda.

  ### 33. Client interface and project management in one

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah L. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The integration of management, communication, and visual record tools is completely unique and helpful! Pretty intuitive, highly customizable

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Some items are difficult to copy/paste around to create and maintain consistent formatting across documents

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Find existing documents to dive into for exploration. There are so many tools it can be overwhelming to get started. Seeing how other people approach the flow of pages and tools can be really informative and spark ideas about how to adapt the tools for your own needs.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides an interface for clients, builders, and designers all in one place to share images, documents, and track decisions and conversations. Noone else provides an interface that does all of those things!

  ### 34. Extremely powerful, but limitations with large relational databases

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Love that everything is built inside of a Notion-esque text editor. Packs were easy to install and use, and the software was pretty straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Docs inside Coda are siloed and segmented and difficult to provide guest access or client access to. It's difficult to understand access control inside Coda and to freely share data between Docs for proper access control.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda seems to be a good solution for organizations that are looking for a combination of app-like functionality and documentation.

  ### 35. Pull in everything you need into one collaborative workspace

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunbul Z. | Product Operations Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The table structure brings a familiarity to working with a Coda doc. The interface itself is quite intuitive. The instruction videos are engaging and inspire one to explore more. Plus the community forum seems to have answers for everything under the sun. The packs allow cross-platform integration with other common workspace tools, making it a breeze to automate work.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The support team's responses can be a bit obtuse at times - I wish they'd actually look at the user's work/usage history before deciding what level to respond at.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaborative working with multiple teams and managing/implementing the process on one platform rather than trying to coordinate the work on multiple platforms/tools.

  ### 36. The software we have been looking for

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

You can configure the system the way you like to best serve your needs.
Ii looks great on a computer screen - large screens are recommended
It is more customisable than most other project management software

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Would like to be able to have individual permissions for pages within docs and also have the ability to hide pages from certain people or groups. The only workaround seems to be Cross Doc and this sometimes has syncing issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

You will need to do some learning if you want to get the best out of it. CODA does have very good videos for basic setup.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have trialled nearly every Project Management software and none suited our needs. All made us change our ways where Coda allows you to make a system that works with the way our company works.
We had a very complex and interconnected Google Sheets system which worked great, but over time with more data and employees we knew we had to move from a spreadsheet system to a database.
Coda has more functionality and works great and was relatively easy to roll out.

  ### 37. Amazingly Intuitive & Streamlines Efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda creates a collaborative space for our team where we're able to find information easily, provide more accountability, and simply be more productive during our workday.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

There are a few features that would be helpful to our specific team but Coda's team is so responsive and receptive to feedback that we know these features are being considered and hopefully implemented down the road. In the meantime, their team is always able to provide workarounds or tips on how to achieve the same outcome.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda is helping our team stay organized and create more meaningful conversations internally by streamlining communication in one space. We're able to keep track of projects, provide resources, and so much more.

  ### 38. Great document collaboration tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunil D. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Collaboration
Rich component library like tables, bullet, etc
Awesome formula across documents and components
Multiple type of views to collaborate on same normalised data

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Performance degradation for large documents
Lack of webhooks to trigger external systems
Limitations on automation triggers

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document collaboration
Buisness documents like BRD, Trackers
Task management for teams

  ### 39. Up and running in no time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Clean UI with simple mechanics allow for Coda to be used across a lot of functions and for different use cases (e.g. workshop planning to project briefs to form submissions). Integrations with other tools like Jira are a nice touch. Formulas within tables are a huge plus and avoid the need for spreadsheets. The support team is fantastic with incredible response times and resources!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

A little buggy at times (form submission lag). Permissions and sharing access is a bit confusing - being able to share a doc, page, and managing that across what access levels they have to the platform can create some headaches.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick and simple place to jot down thoughts and build them out into larger projects if needed. Nice to be able to keep project plans in one place and build views, interactions, and functions that map to different use cases.

  ### 40. The Best Data & Project Management Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake W. | Rug Maker and Video Editor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I love the tables and that you can create several different views.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Honestly I haven't found anything that I dislike.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me with a video editing workflow, tracking inventory, and keeping me on track to reach my goals. I'm definitely more productive.

  ### 41. Daily work help when you need it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucy L. | Freelance web developer, multimedia, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Great tools, decent pricing, loads of options to help me in my daily work.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

The integration to external platforms could be better.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organizing many data points in various ways, which helps to keep my daily task list organized, making my work more efficient.

  ### 42. The no-code tool creation we were looking for!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jad H. | Special Projects Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Our entire team uses Coda on a daily basis to keep track of just about everything. We especially love being able to connect different tables to make accessing associated information easier.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Sometimes when trying to create connections to other tables, it can be a bit confusing or non-intuitive to connect information, however, the Coda team is extremely helpful when things like this occur!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our internal project management and central information hub for everything in our organization.
Need to see a decision made 6 months ago, no problem, need to know what's in inventory, no problem. Coda is like Legos for internal tooling.

  ### 43. A robust wiki for all things resources, meeting notes, and small projects!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean J. | Business Process Improvement Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

The visual flow for Coda has been great to build out resources for your teams. I've really enjoyed this app to build out manuals for my team and how we can quickly and easily access information.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Currently, my biggest challenge is moving Coda documents around into another master doc - in the event, that someone else is working on a project and we want to merge it. it turns into a copy-and-paste nightmare.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A resource where we can put all our team's information, and our ways of working, and set clear guidelines for how the team works together. I enjoy the flow of it.

  ### 44. Great integrations and easy to keep everything in the same place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hayden W. | Product Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

I was skeptical of Coda at first and didn't understand how it would be better than google sheets. I love all of the integrations that make it easy to have all of your information in the same place. I use the Github integration and it works great for providing high level perspective to non-engineering team members.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

I don't feel like there is anything that is missing from my perspective. Coda has been able to deliver on my needs and there are more features than I am able to use currently.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coda helps me connect cross-functional information between the different departments that I work with.

  ### 45. Coda is unlike any other experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vanessa S. | Director of Customer Support, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

There are so many features. It's alike gmail docs combined with Asana and all other project tracker, document makers tools out there in one. And it's also very customizable!

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It's hard to navigate with all the features. It has a bit of a learning curve.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One stop shop for a company like mine to go to for all processes, project trackers, tasks, team directory, reports, and the ability to integrate.

  ### 46. Very secure software to create and backup documents.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jocelyn H. | Finance Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda is excellent for a wide range of professional and personal applications. I enjoy how you can arrange a lot of information and different data types in one location. And the fact that it's simple to format the content so that all of the pages look great, and that the user interface is also really fluid and simple to use.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Inability to completely utilize the table as a Google spreadsheet. It might be difficult to deal with the restricted ways of employing formulae in coda at times. When there are a lot of pages to examine, it might be tough to index them all and readily identify the one we need. Because Coda is not like other tools I've used in the past, it takes some time to figure out what issues you can genuinely answer.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Take your time looking through the templates and example documents. It is critical that you do this in order to understand how things link and communicate with one another, as well as to see how you can take use of all of the program's features so that you know how to adjust the software to your requirements.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly, we have documented all things related to the project that we cooperated, and we have many specific deadlines that customers have to return information. I was able to create a template that can be shared with you to help build a right foot. We were able to organize many pieces of information in the place, and I can also document video, photos and links. Also, table options and formatting and conditional filter capabilities will help us prioritize what we want to concentrate, plan a project, and highlight different parts of data for different people through various pages. increase. table.

  ### 47. Powerful for data-driven workflows, but functionality gaps for written docs

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Allen P. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

It's a big improvement over Google Docs, which is what we were using previously. The tools to format and organize docs are nicer, especially the ability to sort and organize subpages within a doc.

The tools around tables and data-driven workflows are powerful, and were a big selling point for us when we chose Coda over Notion. We also found the way text documents are edited to be a bit more natural in Coda than in Notion.

I also feel like the product team seems to be moving at a good pace, and they're frequently sharing updates about new improvements.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Coda is not yet a great tool for sharing and maintaining written documentation. Things like guides, policies, and other prose-centric docs can be maintained in Coda, but we've found that as we built out these kinds of docs, there were missing features that made finding, using, and maintaining written docs kind of frustrating. Some examples:

1. A huge selling point of Coda or Notion over Google Docs is the ability to break a long doc into easily navigable and linkable titled pages. However, Coda's search function doesn't surface pages as results. So you end up in a circumstance where you have a doc like "Employee Handbook" with an important page titled "Reimbursements" but if you type reimbursements into search, it only returns the top-level handbook. This has led to a sense on the team that they can't find things in Coda, and useful and important pages don't get referenced as much as they should. This is on a 14-person team, and I suspect it would be worse on a larger team.
2. A minimal version history feature exists, but is not sufficiently featureful to answer questions like "When was the last time this page changed substantially?" or "I know Sarah made some updates on this page. What changed?" This has been frustrating and made collaborating on a doc harder since you can't easily say "Hey I made some improvements, can you review them" without re-reading the whole doc.
3. Something neither Coda nor Notion seems to have is any indication of the vitality of a document. How old is most of this doc? How often is it referenced? Who wrote most of it? Notion does have the ability to surface backlinks to a doc which is a bit of a hint about a doc's relevance, but overall this feels like an area of opportunity across all tools.
4. Often we end up wanting to embed a bit of a spreadsheet to do some noodling in an otherwise written doc, for example a little scratchpad for helping calculate some things or make a 2-column comparison. Coda really wants to treat tables not like chunks of spreadsheet, but more like views onto a database. This is interesting and potentially really powerful for building workflows, but on a 14 person team we're less often building data-heavy workflows and more often just making a quick little sheet to try and house some ad-hoc calculations. Some of us are getting a handle of how to make good use of Coda tables, but a lot of team members have moreso learned "Coda tables are weird, it's easier to just link a Google sheet" which has been disappointing.

So a year in to using Coda, it's been an improvement over Google Docs, but I'm increasingly confident that for our writing-centric needs, Notion would have been a better move. We're holding out a bit longer to see how Coda's feature set evolves – they seem to have a smart and high-velocity product team, and the idea of migrating again a year later is not appealing – but we may end up moving to Notion at some point.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

I'd say Coda is most compelling for teams whose needs are centered around wanting to build data-centric workflows, using tables, and other "smart" doc functionality. They have a lot of functionality there, and those seem to be the areas they're investing in most.

On the other hand, if your priority is writing, maintaining, and collaborating on written docs, and making that info findable by your team, then Coda might not be the best option out there. (At least, as of Spring 2022.)

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We store our team guidelines, policies, handbook, meeting notes, proposals, brainstorm results, and other written docs in Coda. This has been a lot better for us than Google Docs, since it's easier to organize a group of related pages into a single-destination doc (although the inability to search for pages somewhat mitigates this benefit). Overall we have a nicer and better maintained docs experience than we did with Google Docs. We've had some success with some of Coda's dynamic features, such as scripting docs and using templates to do things like collect feedback on a doc from readers.

  ### 48. Productivity game-changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zoe O. | Child caregiver, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda maximizes the two most important things when it comes to productivity: ease of use and flexibility.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

It is still in development, which every once and a while becomes apparent. I also wish the mobile experience was faster and more optimized.

**Recommendations to others considering Coda:**

Don't be intimidated! Just get started with a simple idea, and you can keep adding to the doc as you get more comfortable!

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motivation and productivity can vary wildly from person to person, or even from day to day. Coda allows its users to get into the mindset of constantly adjusting what isn't working and striving for a more optimal system.

  ### 49. Very helpful with lots of features but the features aren’t always intuitive.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah S. | Solutions engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Ability to customize documents with tables and charts, as well as link outside documents and embed videos.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Using the desired features sometimes requires a lot of googling or contacting support.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy sharing of complex formatted documents

  ### 50. My experience with Coda.io

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vadim C. | Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Coda?**

Coda formulas are the most flexible I know. Buttons, actions, and Coda Packs are mindblowing.

**What do you dislike about Coda?**

Coda is harder to adopt by new users, that's because they prefer to use Notion instead.

**What problems is Coda solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In Coda, you can build a complex web app. Is true that it is limited in design but for company internal use is very good.
