The AI website builder saves a lot of time and makes configuring the website and even some back-end features simple and accessible for small or solo businesses. I was able to build an entire functional website from scratch without knowing how to code in just a few hours using this feature. The support team is always available for assistance if required, which is reassuring. Everything I use works well and is fairly intuitive to use, and Subbly's connection with Stripe for payment processing is just what I need. It's like magic, easy to use, even for someone who doesn't have the slightest idea about website building. I get the chance to have a strong control on the design and layout of the website and represent the personality of my brand very well. They always demonstrate active interest in our achievement. **What do you dislike about Subbly?** However, to be honest, on forming my website I faced some shortcomings. Putting new components in the rightplace can be quite a challenge, using tweezers is exactly what you need for precise placement. Not only that but I also desire interface which let users be more effective in superimposing text over photographs. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** Subbly has given me the power to make my membership box dream come true. The package price that is very much affordable includes everything. A security of recurring payments through the checkout system, a website builder and hosting, that is more than fair for that money when compared to the other options in market. It helps us to sell more, upsell, track sales and cart abandonment as well as generate reports. The sites are also SEO ready which gives us more search engine visibility. Subbly lays out call-to-action buttons for your subscription all throughout the layout template. This really takes out a lot of marketing leg work here. I love that this is a platform where users can change the product that they receive in their subscription every month! There are no other platforms offering this. I went through Shopify, Wix, and Squarespace! None of them offered this as an option. Their "subscriptions" were just subscriptions for the SAME item every month. Therefore in my specific case had I used those platforms, I would have only been able to offer the same wig to users per month. This didn't meet my needs of wanting to offer a variety of different beauty items per month. Women love to change their hair! I was so excited to find this platfomr. Customer Service - Any question that I have ever had about anything, I have been met with care, concern, and solutions. I am very impressed with their team. It has been a pleasure to learn the software with a rock star customer service oriented team. Rich in particular is very innovative in finding solutions for my super niche business model. Everyone as a whole is very knowledgeable and solution oriented. I have never received customer service like this from any of the other platforms that I have ever used. They will not leave you in the dark, trust me! **What do you dislike about Subbly?** Shipping - There is no plug in for shipping that could estimate shipping cost per the weight that you put in for a prodiuct. You do have an area where you can enter in the shipping cost. Laying shipping out this way could be very costly similar to an Aliexpress order where you are charged an exorbitant amout of shipping per item rather than by weight. Here is where you have an opportunity for creative marketing. Offer a special promption code for free shipping off a certain amount such as a $50 minimum order. Not enough variants - I offer wigs through the platform. I had the opportunity to get one-on-one coaching from a Subbly expert on how I could offer multiple styles of wigs that come in various colors. The platform uses a survey tool to build subscriptons. It becomes tedious entering in variants like color in the subscripton survey expereince compared to how it is laid out in stand alone products. It would be cool to incorporate standalone products directly into the survey with an easier way to select color. Not easy for customers to switch in and out of products - If they click buy on an item, that will automatically put the thing in their cart, which is great for you as a business owner. However, the user experience is not a fun one. What happens on the user's end is that they try to go back and look at other products to casually browse and when they do click on the new option, instead of seeing options and text for the new product, they instead see the variants from the previous wig they viewed IF they didn't choose a variant such as color. Basically, the software forces them to make a decision. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** Subbly helped me find a home for my subscription-based business that needs to offer the ability to change which item they will get for the same flat rate every month. Again, there is no other subscription on any of the major website platforms that offer this type of software. ### 6. Everything you need is in one place and you can enter with zero experience and end up with a very professional looking setup. Their customer service always does a great job answering any questions that come up. Their Facebook group has also been a huge benefit. The subscription box space can feel like you are a one-man show but they make it easy to connect with others for support and community. **What do you dislike about Subbly?** The customer service isn't instant but they get back to you in a timely manner and take their time to make sure that any issue is fully resolved. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** I would not have known the right things to do to set up a subscription box business on my own and it would have taken me twice as long. Subbly helped me launch quicker and I love the way it is built with Apps you can use to integrate other services you might be using like Mailchimp. It saves me lots of time by autoupdating my email list. ### 7. I had never built anything vaguely like a website before starting my first business this year, and from the moment I started building it, it felt do-able and not overwhelming. My second favourite thing is how customisable everything is, so I feel like my whole new website has my "brand" from start to finish. The support from the team at Subbly is excellent, they are friendly and committed to your business success in a way that feels genuine and helpful. I like the range of stock photos that come free with it. I like how you can start with some great looking templates but then make it your own. Their articles and videos help you every step of the way, and gave me confidence to try out each feature as I went. **What do you dislike about Subbly?** There are a couple of little annoying things about the design process that you have to get used to, the main one being that when you place a new element on the page it has to be put "just so" otherwise it won't go where you want it to go. I would like the ability to more easily overlay text on top of photos. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** So going with Subbly has enabled me to start a subscription business from scratch, in Australia, where subscription businesses are not overly common yet. The fact that their monthly package was really reasonable and included not just the checkout/payment area for a variety of recurring payments, but the entire website builder and hosting etc, I found it to be a very good deal compared with Shopify + Recharge and Cratejoy. A problem I knew I wanted to solve for my business before I even started, was that I wanted to be able to alter and update my website at any point, so it needed to be something I could do myself. And as a novice I was concerned about learning the ropes, but I've found that I've gained confidence quickly using Subbly and I'm actually pretty proud of myself. ### 8. And not only possible, admittedly fun. This e-commerce site build was the most important but the most daunting of tasks needed to be accomplished to get up and running. It kept getting pushed to the bottom of my to-do list. Now underway, it's at the top. I am a sole-proprietor bootstrapping with some significant startup costs on other fronts, subbly makes my startup possible. **What do you dislike about Subbly?** I wish it had a format paint brush. Also, fonts are limited to 1 choice but there's latitude in letter spacing, etc. In spite of the video tutorials, I was still getting stuck on little things that didn't bother mentioning, but having sorted them out, they've given me the confidence that I'll figure other things out too. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** Namely, subscription capabilities and Subbly should allow me to offer my subscribers choices. The friendly and quick support is always a bonus. When I reach out and ask a question, a comprehensive answer is provided, with the steps to resolve laid out simply and clearly. **What do you dislike about Subbly?** Some of the reports could be more extensive however I usually just export out a csv and manipulate myself in Excel. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** The automation for me is where the value lies - this allows me to focus on other areas of my business and not get bogged down in the day-to-day admin work. ### 10. The navigation of the builder is brilliant, very easy to get used to and it's smooth. All the elements available are actually useful and have great design, with plenty of options to customise to your brand. The support is always top notch with Subbly, and anything that might not seem obvious in the builder is explained by support in record time. I've used Subbly for both of my business sites, and it's been fantastic both times. **What do you dislike about Subbly?** When I first started using Subbly there were a few of the more advanced marketing functions that weren't available or were pretty basic, but these have actually been picked up on very quickly and have been developed into really useful features. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having the ability to easily switch up my website, by myself, whenever I need to, is just brilliant. It means I can be way more reactive to my business needs and make changes to design and copy whenever it's needed. ### 11. Their customer service team are really responsive and the site is really easy to use. There are also loads of help documents that you can search to find answers to those small technicalities you get on all websites. I love it, I'm so glad my company switched. **What do you dislike about Subbly?** There aren't many downsides. Because it's still growing and changing there are some features they could add, but when this happens you can upvote the things you want them to develop next and even be involved in the beta version testing (which I've done and was really glad I had the opportunity to test it out). **Recommendations to others considering Subbly:** If your model is subscription, definitely try it. It's saved us time and money, and provided much better service than what we were using before. **What problems is Subbly solving and how is that benefiting you?** Everything I need is in 1 place. Subbly handles payments, recurring orders and one-offs, automatic upselling, cart abandonment, blog functions for SEO, it's really easy to run reports on everything, it integrates with shipstation and zapier.
