## StrategyWorks Reviews
  ### 1. Great program- helps tremendously!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tammy T. | BDM, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2024

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

Customer support and ease of use are two of the best things about this program.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

There is not really a bad thing to say about it.

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with the reporting and comparison.

  ### 2. Alignment, Visibility and Accountability Done Simply

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan M. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2021

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

The key to successful strategy execution is always the alignment projects and programmes to outcomes, accountability and transparency. Strategy Works forces you to think about these critical factors as soon as you begin defining or shaping your strategy and then simply and effectively enables you to track and monitor progress across the end to end strategy and crucially, equips you to effect change and actively ensure successful delivery - I love that this can be all 'live' in the tool AND available via real-time reporting.

Also, on the accountability front - successful projects have the team making an impact on what needs to get done rather than reporting endlessly on whether it is or isn't on track. Because the reporting is all automated and real-time Strategy Works free's up the project managers and project team to do exactly that.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

I'm a details geek, so I would increase the level of detail available in the costs and benefits sections - it's quite a focused 'request' and may not suit of be useful for everyone else using the tool.

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using it to help businesses execute more strongly on their strategy. Helping to drive greater transparency and accountability across initiatives and spend. Helping to define projedcts and programmes with a better chance of influencing business strategy positively.

  ### 3. Ditch the spreadsheets!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul F. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2021

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

Complete clarity and accountability for all strategic related activity on single platform.

This beautifully designed execution tool enables leadership teams to define, allocate, track and manage the delivery of multiple strategic programmes across multiple delivery teams providing visibility and clarity of the objectives, supporting strategies and activities through an intuitive and realtime analytics dashboard.

The simple and user friendly dashboard provides all key topline information in a single view so no need to go hunting. Navigating and drilling down for further detail is easy and logically with even the most complex data displayed in a clear and succint format allowing easy identification of activity that is running late, behind or on track.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

A mobile app providing a 'light' version of the platform would be hugely beneficial

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Senior exec teams within large organisations often want regular sight and update of their programme portfolios. This often involves delivery teams running around the organisation collecting various amounts of data on spreadsheets whilst wasting valuable hours compiling and consolidating data into multiple reports.

StrategyWorks allows delivery teams to go about their day to day business whilst senior key stakeholders have the ability to engage with the platform to pull any reports they so wish. This is ensures timely, consistant and real time reporting without the business interuption.

  ### 4. Visibility that we've never had before

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elliot Z. | Founder & Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2021

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

How it helps me view how our projects are driving the strategic goals that the company has set

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

It needs a bit of time to implement, but there's a great professional services team in place to support this.

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I get to know which projects should be focused on and which should be stopped (as they're not helping us with our business strategy). This means we can save money and increase the speed of delivering the change we need to

  ### 5. Finally, the ability to align objectives and strategies to delivery

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

Our leadership team places value in Strategy Execution and we are happy to be working with a tool that aligns to our way of thinking.
(1) The interface is clean and logical which helps direct our thinking.
(2) The ability to drill down into details for assessment of value and investment in each portfolio.
(3) Comprehensive & flexible reporting features - progress, objectives, KPI, benefits, etc.
(4) There is also a thorough and helpful knowledgebase.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

Any chance this, or part of it such as reports, can be an app for a mobile phone?

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are glad to use StrategyWorks not only for ourselves but also for our own clients. The value that we are able to gain from this product is what we expect to pass along to our customers.

  ### 6. StrategyWorks Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2020

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

Many companies struggle to determine what programmes and projects directly support strategic aims and what don’t. Also, it’s often difficult to demonstrate whether a programme or project still continues to support company strategy, even if it did at initiation. I have run exercises with a number of my clients to rationalise portfolios so that all programmes and projects therein demonstrate clear support for strategy and are not in the portfolio because of someone shouting loud enough. StrategyWorks would have been a really useful tool to have at that time.

Impressive features include:
•	Drill down capability – great tool being able to drill down through the hierarchy from vision right down to activity.
•	Local terminology mapping – very helpful to be able to change SW native terms to whatever the customer is familiar with.
•	Dashboard – very useful way of displaying key information.
•	Reporting e.g. Benefit Alignment Report – I love this one. “40 Projects with No Planned Benefit” – Brilliant! Let’s terminate them!
•	Sliding timescale – I really like the way you can shrink or extend the time scale using the grey bar at the bottom of the screen – this is helpful for viewing a snapshot in time as well as the full timescale.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

Some small areas for improvement - given the newness of SW this is not surprising and I'm sure that the ShapeCast Team have these covered within the SW product roadmap.

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

See above.

  ### 7. Makes Strategy execution simple

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2020

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

The visible of objectives and how pursuits link back to sector strategies is really beneficial. At any time our leadership team has full visibility of how we are meeting our strategic objectives and highlight the key areas of focus.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

A task list would be great. I hear this is in the making and will make it a full end to end strategy execution tool.

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Harmonic are using strategyworks to manage our transformation from a resource provider to a management consultancy.
The tool has allowed us to manage all of our project effectively and ensure they are linked to strategy. If they are not we have clear visibility and can make an early qualification decision.

  ### 8. Great product that has transformed our approach

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek H. | Owner, Animation, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2018

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

The visibility, it provides while planning and executing our plans; in particular being able to quickly identify the programmes and projects which were not aligned with our business objectives and key outcomes.

What was important for us through the whole process was being able to clearly identify what was working and what wasn’t. This really allowed us to reshape what we were doing which had a really significant impact on our plans.

Also, our programme and project teams were able to raise in a timely manner issues, risks and decisions relating to their activities, that needed to be brought to the attention of the leadership team. In time, I can see it replacing our monthly status reports.

What really made a difference to us what this isn’t just another point tool. Shapecast had a whole structure and method which really helped us through process.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

The team at Shapecast, were very responsive to our feedback. Though it would be nice to have a feature that allowed every member of the team to directly communicate the feedback to Shapecast on 1:1 basis.

**Recommendations to others considering StrategyWorks:**

Strategy Execution is great product for planning, executing and monitoring all the initiatives for your organisation, allowing you to constantly track which ones are generating value and which ones need to be reviewed. Don’t confuse it with a project/portfolio management tool. This whole process is really about making sure you’re doing the right thing.

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our rapid growth, opened many routes to market which we were keen to exploit. By working with Shapecast, we were able to plan our portfolio of programmes and projects ensuring they were aligned with our objectives and vision, allowing us to de-prioritise certain programmes with low value and focus our attentions on those that were critical to achieving our key outcomes.

When it came to executing the plan, the leadership team had complete visibility over the whole portfolio and could see where and why projects were stalling or tracking behind their timelines. At the same time, our project teams had a clearer understanding of their responsibilities and accountabilities as well as an appreciation of the company vision and the part they played in supporting it.

We now have a fully aligned and joined up activity plan, the outcomes of which will enable us to take full advantage of the global opportunities that will present themselves over the next 12 months leading to a conservative budgeted revenue increase of around 15% on 2017 results.

  ### 9. Provides clarity and focus

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2018

**What do you like best about StrategyWorks?**

Ease of use, beautifully designed and the fact that we could see in a single platform all the initiatives we are running, how they are contributing to our goals and complete visibility of when and who is responsible for delivering the various activities.

**What do you dislike about StrategyWorks?**

Ability to attach files to the various initiatives would be great? Dashboard is really useful but an added ability to improve notifications??

**Recommendations to others considering StrategyWorks:**

If you want a product which forces you to have clarity on our goals and keep you on track by providing the high-level overview of all your activities and yet at the same time allowing you to zoom in on areas which needed attention, then I highly recommend the product.

**What problems is StrategyWorks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By allowing us to link our goals and objectives to every activity, we found it to be a powerful tool to communicate the ‘Why’ we were following a certain path to our staff and enabled them to focus on activities which contributed most to our growth.
