## Starling Framework Reviews
  ### 1. Amazing open source game framework

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Starling Framework?**

Starling is an open source game framework used to create 2D games that run both on mobile and desktop platforms. It recreates the traditional Flash display list architecture on top of accelerated graphics hardware.

**What do you dislike about Starling Framework?**

The framework does not allow multiple options to the user.

**What problems is Starling Framework solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy to use and fun.

  ### 2. True to actionscript engine for the new generation

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fatir A. | Technical Designer - God of War, Entertainment, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2016

**What do you like best about Starling Framework?**

If you were comfortable working with flash and actionscript 3, starling framework is an amazing way to bring your skillset in to the modern era.
Cross platform support is great and lets you bring your ideas to multiple platforms with ease.

**What do you dislike about Starling Framework?**

Direction seems a bit unknown with a lot of lackluster side projects to accompany this engine.
A mash of different technologies, when issues arise you are often on your own and having to deal with multiple codebases that are scattered around.

**Recommendations to others considering Starling Framework:**

If you are quickly trying to escape flash, this is a great solution, but be ready for dealing with hard to place problems if you're trying to do very complex things. A lot of the integrated features are nice, but it feels like a lot of the tools to make things better are necessary but costly.
Their UI solution (Feathers) is also lackluster and looks and feels outdated. I do not recommend this for making a UI driven project.

**What problems is Starling Framework solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick game prototyping and bringing existing skills to modern solutions. I love that the years I spent with flash and actionscript will not go to a complete waste.
