Squarespace Pricing FAQs

Is Squarespace free, or does it offer a free trial?

No. According to G2 data, Squarespace does not offer a free plan or free trial. Users need to purchase a paid plan to access the product. Visit the seller's official pricing page for current pricing details and plan options.

Who is Squarespace pricing best suited for?

According to G2 reviews, Squarespace's pricing is best suited for small business owners, freelancers, photographers, creatives, and non-profits who need a professional web presence without hiring a developer. The overwhelming majority of G2 reviewers come from small businesses with 50 or fewer employees, spanning industries like photography, marketing, design, non-profit management, and writing. Squarespace's Personal plan appeals to individuals building portfolios or blogs, while the Business and Commerce tiers attract small retailers and service providers needing e-commerce functionality. Mid-market organizations also appear in G2 reviews, typically using Squarespace for informational or microsite needs. Reviewers consistently emphasize that Squarespace's pricing delivers the most value for non-technical users prioritizing design quality.

What are the key differences between the free and paid versions of Squarespace?

Squarespace does not offer a permanent free version, but G2 reviewers frequently mention a free trial period that allows users to build and evaluate a site before committing. Once the trial ends, Squarespace's paid plans begin at $8 per month for the Personal tier, which includes one product listing, a custom domain, and 2 contributors. Squarespace's Business plan at $18 per month unlocks unlimited pages, e-commerce for up to 20 products, and developer platform access. The Commerce plan at $26 per month adds unlimited products, real-time carrier shipping, and accounting integrations. G2 users note that meaningful e-commerce and advanced features require upgrading beyond the entry-level tier.

Is Squarespace considered good value for its pricing?

Squarespace is widely considered a premium but worthwhile investment, according to G2 reviewers. Many users with high ratings acknowledge the pricing is on the steeper side yet consistently describe it as worth the cost given the professional templates, all-in-one hosting, and ease of use. G2 reviews of Squarespace frequently note that it replaces the need for a web developer, saving hundreds to thousands of dollars. However, budget-conscious users, nonprofits, and solo entrepreneurs repeatedly flag Squarespace's pricing as a pain point, with some comparing it unfavorably to WordPress or Wix. G2 reviewers also cite frustration with add-on costs and annual price increases as recurring concerns.

Squarespace is the #1 website building platform I recommend and use when building websites. It is the most intuitive, easiest to use, doesn't allow things to be outside specific parameters while providing flexibility. Everything needed for integrations is simple and seemless. I've had 100% uptime and never had my website flagged for bad performance. Pricing is great no matter what plan you choose. Support is always super helpful if you can't find what you need in the resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
