Getting started with the website builder was easy enough, and the overall setup felt straightforward. I also appreciated having a free trial period, which was definitely a plus. With Squarespace, I was able to secure a domain name and build a website. That's been a real benefit for my new business, which didn't have a landing page for quite a while, and it helped me finally get an online presence up and running. Squarespace is most helpful for people who either don't know how to code or those who may know how to code but don't want to spend the bulk of their time creating a website from scratch. The upside of using Squarespace is you can design a website using templates that can be customized with fonts, colors and other design elements that fit your brand and goals. Using Squarespace also makes publishing content easier without worrying about your website's backend administration, or hosting of your website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Squarespace? Squarespace does not provide adequate help for issues customers are experiencing, especially longtime customers who are on previous versions of Squarespace. Some of the downsides of using Squarespace are that customer service is often slow to respond to inquiries about technical issues, including downtime for websites hosted on their service. Squarespace has yet to provide any solutions to fix some website features, such as RSS feeds and secure logins, that have stopped working correctly or stopped functioning altogether, even when these features are included in their monthly plans. Squarespace is a user-friendly platform with a nice layout. Beginners can get started quickly with the features they offer. The fact that you can't access the html code directly is very annoying (you can only insert blocks of code). I have to rely on whatever options they give me and cannot make custom edits to the code of existing blocks. If you want to make special tables or open links in new tabs, it's not easy to do. Building pages on Squarespace is very easy. Pages are laid out in a grid and you can add rows and columns as you please, choosing from the building blocks given by Squarespace. Websites built on Squarespace tend to look like each other unless you get a professional designer doing work that would probably be easier on another platform at that point. I like that I've never had any issues or any problems with payment processing through square space. I do know that I will never have to worry about my client's payments having issues, or if I pay for something and see that it has been processed by Squarespace, that I will have a problem. I think that it's extremely confusing how Squarespace works with so many different 3rd party payment provider companies. Initially, when I looked into using square space as my main payment processing system for my company, it was way too confusing to try to figure out how to get my accounts set up all directly with Square space, and it turned me off, and made me utilize another company because of it. As a business owner, I do not think that Squarespace is user-friendly. When using Squarespace as a customer, I have had a great experience. With simplicity comes limitations. If you are a more advanced user and want additional features, controls, stylings, core web vitals, this might not be for you. I like that there are great templates - drop some words in, add some high quality pictures, you can make a decent website quickly. It won't be jaw dropping, but it'll get the job done. I also really appreciate their simple pricing - makes choosing the right plan easy for people I've worked with. I have never liked the interface - too much is only discoverable by hover and if someone hadn't shown me how to use it, I would have gotten very frustrated on my own, and even then, it still frustrates me. Generally trying to get a small business or a small project a website. As I mentioned above, the 'all-in-one'-ness of Squarespace is a huge benefit. Popular platform with ease of use so high it makes it quite simple for people to manage a website in general and has assisted many in the build process of websites that have served me and my colleagues for years at a time. Simplistic building features with a solid framework allows for clean construction and sleek looks in a manner that allows those that do not know extensive amounts of code to design.
