"Git tool with a very good UI interface, ideal to shift from cli based interfaces"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

The user interface is very good. I had been using command line interfaces from a long time for svn and the rich ui was really useful. Easy tracking of the commits performed by our teammates Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

Faced issues on changing the remote repositories and updating the svn URL. windows version works fine but Linux version is not available Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great GUI for version control"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

The GUI makes it easy to follow and clone or checkout any sources needed. I especially like the BitBucket integration, and it provides a one-click solution to checking out the selected branch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

I've yet to hit something I do not like about SourceTree. The only thing I would mention is sometimes I forego using it all together to use the CLI for git, but that is nothing against SourceTree. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the best and more complete UI tools for managing git repositories"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

One of the best features is how easy it turns to jump from one project to another. It has an intuitive interface with most of the options you need in one or two clicks.

The graphic display of branches and code difference interfaces are conducive and well done.

The UI Provides most of the features you would need and also provides quick access to the console if you want to run commands with the entire domain of what you are doing.

If you work on a large monitor, it becomes straightforward to track commits and perform code reviews as navigation is usually smoother than using the browser.

It's a must-try for both novice and experts GIT users as it has a plethora of features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

I experience some unresponsiveness from time to time, but it has improved with the latest updates.

If you are working on a laptop with a small screen, you might find it hard to see all the controls helpfully, as it shows several small UI components for displaying files, code, branches, etc. You can still use SourceTree in this case but might see everything tiny. "Good for storing code"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

Sourcetree is part of Atlassian, so it works pretty well if you use other tools made by the same company. It uses Git under the hood so you can use the same version control to push your code to the cloud. There are more private projects that you were able to keep for free than some of their competitors. It has built-in functionality to share projects and to have multiple people working on the same project together. It works very well with BitBucket. It's pretty lightweight to download and doesn't use up too much space or ram. You can see your code changes in the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

The UI is not the best, even when downloading the GUI. There can be some updates to make it easier to use, but it has improved over the years. There are a lot of other apps that are similar. You can't use this app without having an Atlassian account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A git GUI you can Use"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

Allows you to use git with a gui. You can perform nearly all functions of git, yet the command line is still available if you need it. I usually use a gitflow pattern which it can setup with a single click. Merging is easy and it shows conflicts that need to be resolved. It handles stashes and you can cherry pick commits if desired. The interface gives a good visual of branches for repos. Overalll it makes working with git more pleasant. While i am comfortable with command lines enoy not having to try and remember the syntax for all the commands. It plays nice with visual studio Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

Most of my past issues with git seem to have been corrected. Remotes logins where a little iffy. Understanding some of the status icons can still be difficult. The documentation is not very forthcoming with what they mean. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Focus on Coding , leave the rest to them!"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

The standout feature for me of SourceTree is the simple UI/UX they offer an easy push of your code from wherever you are writing it like for example I mostly code in Visual Studio. They also help in combating GIT with amazing in-house tools to move across the help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

There are frequent login issues that I used to face previously but now they are much more scarce in number. Apart from that I also find it a bit clumsy at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tool for Git Visualization"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

SourceTree is one of the best tools, which helps you visualize your branches, tags, and commit histories in a UI manner. The built-in feature to imagine is quite helpful. We can also add multiple accounts and switch them while pushing and pulling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

There's nothing to dislike; it fulfills the job adequately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Look no further than Sourcetree for managing Versions of your apps"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

I like that I get an in depth view of my code on whatever vcs host I'm using. I have projects on GitLab, GitHub and BitBucket and I can see all of them from Sourcetree, as well as seeing any and all branches for each project and how they intertwine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

Currently the only thing I have an issue with is using it correctly with macOS Big Sur/Monterey. For whatever reason the OD update has made the application a bit difficult to use. So instead I use it with Fedora Linux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use GUI, see diff clearly"
What do you like best about SourceTree?

To see all the diff of multiple files before committing. And also I don't have to repeatedly enter the same git commands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SourceTree?

I use SourceTree to manage many repos, and sometimes the windows for each repo can be all over the place Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
