The ease of implementation and discovery. It has the in depth insights to find everything I need. Integration took seconds and their support is literally at my fingertips anytime I need help. We use this for every single on of our more complex prospects and have so far driven significant value for our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As with anything Metadata api based in Salesforce the system has to work around the complexities of the SalesForce object architecture. The data dictionary does take us a long way to getting past this however. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having a central place to easily search the backend of Salesforce and see all dependencies. Sometimes the search in SFDC does not work well and does not show what you are looking for, but Sonar you are able to easily search all relevant objects/fields/ etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not a lot of User profile management with Sonar, like resetting passwords or fully deactivating and removing users from our instance, which would be very helpful for the Sonar Admin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sonar is fast and provides needed information fast. It enables one to trace out logic and see connections between parts of one's Salesforce customizations. It enables us to organize work and functionality by tagging design elements in a flexible way. I have confidence in the stability and ability of the team that is still developing this fairly new product. A year later - many new functionalities came out this year and certain flaws were fixed. Useful for admins and developers in the Salesforce world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not everything works perfectly yet. On objects with hundreds of fields, the Search may or not work to find a field name. Fields related to a Workflow Rule's criterion are called out along with the rule, but, actions and the fields they involve are not called out. Practical-level functionality, such as, "tell me everything I must do, to uninstall this package" are possible to develop in this package, but it is far from that level now. But it still is helpful for a project like that. Reporting and exporting are poor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have A LOT of custom objects. A huge upside for me has been getting an understanding of where fields sit, what they are related to, and what automation they are a part of. As a newer admin this has been invaluable and has saved me loads of time. I am also super excited to get into field spy to understand what duplicate fields we might be able to get rid of. Also, our customer success help has been amazing. We are a smaller company but I feel like a huge enterprise client. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't found much of a downside to sonar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With Sonar it is pretty quick and easy for any SFDC admin to get into an existing org or a new org and quickly understand how the system is currently configured. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When looking at where a field is used you currently cannot see if the usage within a Before the Save flow when using an assignment. The only way to do that currently is using SFDC's native "Where is this used?" button on custom fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The at-a-glance interface of this tool. It is very intuitive and easy to use. The tool allows a Salesforce Aministrator to quickly see what is happening in their Salesforce instance, accurately estimate/anticipate the level of effort associated with a project, and provide a key stakeholder/client with documentation. There is nothing about this tool that I "dislike". There have been minor improvements that I would like to see. In fact, Brad (CEO) has personally jumped on calls to discuss ideas, new features and to collect feedback. This team maintains a great sensitivity to the client's needs by providing excellent customer service/support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We were super excited to get on board with Sonar for making admin tasks more efficient and easier to achieve in Salesforce. It makes it easier to search for things... For instance, find where a particular field from an object is used in a flow and then linking directly into that flow. It's more comprehensive than " Where is this used" because it gives more info. There are some things we wish it could do that it doesn't (yet?) - like an architectural diagram of the org. But they do at least show object relationships and how they relate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Three impressive features: immediately check if a field is referenced anywhere in SF by reports/flows/process builders/formulas/apex etc (and unlike the 'Where is this used' button, filter by active automations). The timeline summary shows you all metadata changes in your org for a specified timeframe and can be scheduled as a daily email. Field tagging: tag fields that are referenced by external applications (like Marketo, Outreach, Zendesk, etc) to understand any potential impacts across your tech stack when making changes in SF. They're constantly improving the product but it has missed some flow references in the past (for example, if the field is referenced by an assignment element). I've also had some issues logging in or with the connection failing, but support has always been quick to help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how easy it is to use and how user-friendly it is. I've added licenses for users in our company who are less familiar with Salesforce and they're still easily finding their way around and learning about our instance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have ongoing conversations about ROI and whether the price is worth what we're getting from it. I always fight that the answer is yes, but I think the ROI needs to be clearer to those that aren't utilizing Sonar from an admin standpoint, or daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Great place to look at all changes and references in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tool is very minimal in what it offers and use cases are fairly limited. Also, it only looks through metadata so searching for CPQ items like price rules and product rules don't really work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
