**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet has become a core part of how our team manages projects, timelines, and cross-functional collaboration. The UI is intuitive enough for new users to get started quickly, while still being powerful for more advanced workflows. I especially like the grid, card, and Gantt views because they make it easy to adapt the workspace depending on the type of project or audience.

One of the biggest benefits has been the automation features and integrations. Automated alerts, approval requests, and status updates save our team hours of manual follow-up every week. The integrations with tools like Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and Power BI also help keep information centralized and accessible without constantly switching platforms.

Performance has been reliable even with large project sheets and multiple collaborators working simultaneously. Reporting dashboards give leadership real-time visibility into project progress, risks, and resource allocation, which has improved decision-making and accountability across teams.

From a pricing and ROI perspective, Smartsheet has delivered strong value by reducing manual processes and improving team coordination. The onboarding experience was straightforward, and there are plenty of templates and learning resources available to help teams adopt the platform quickly.

One unexpected benefit has been how customizable the platform is. Beyond project management, we’ve used Smartsheet for intake forms, workflow tracking, operational reporting, and process automation. The AI-powered features and intelligent automation suggestions are also becoming increasingly useful for streamlining repetitive tasks and improving productivity.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

One downside to Smartsheet is that some advanced features can feel overly complex and require a learning curve, especially when building large automations or detailed formulas. While the platform is powerful, navigating permissions, dependencies, and workflow configurations can sometimes become time-consuming for newer users.

The UI can also feel cluttered when managing very large sheets with a lot of columns, attachments, or automation rules. In some cases, performance slows down slightly with highly detailed project plans or dashboards that pull from multiple data sources.

Another challenge is pricing. While the platform delivers good value overall, certain premium capabilities and user licensing costs can add up quickly for growing teams. Some integrations and advanced reporting features are also locked behind higher-tier plans, which may limit smaller teams trying to scale efficiently.

Additionally, although the onboarding resources are solid, getting teams to fully adopt Smartsheet consistently across departments can take effort, especially for users who are more familiar with simpler spreadsheet tools like Excel or Google Sheets.

Before using Smartsheet, our team struggled with keeping project updates, task ownership, and timelines organized across multiple spreadsheets and email threads. It was difficult to get real-time visibility into project status, which often caused delays, duplicate work, and missed follow-ups.

Since implementing Smartsheet, we’ve been able to centralize project management and automate many of our manual processes. Features like automated reminders, approval workflows, dashboards, and shared project tracking have significantly improved collaboration and accountability across teams. The Gantt charts and reporting tools also make it easier to identify bottlenecks early and keep stakeholders aligned on priorities and deadlines.

One of the biggest benefits has been the time savings. Tasks that previously required multiple emails and status meetings are now managed automatically within Smartsheet, helping our team work more efficiently and reduce administrative overhead. We’ve also improved visibility for leadership by providing real-time reporting and progress tracking in a single platform.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like the ability to comment on rows in a grid. 
The UI is intuitive and i enjoy using it.
I like that the integration from Smartsheet to Power BI is really easy. 
I find the pricing to be a bit high for features like Dynamic Views.
The performance is solid.
The support has been very good since anytime i have an issue i can setup a meeting invite.
I do not use AI or Intelligence features.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I don't like the cost of Dynamic Views; its too high.
I dont like all the ways they are shoving AI in my face, without being explicit about what benefit the AI feature actually gives.
I don't like that I cant let someone have view only access to a Report without giving them access to the underlying data.

The main problem Smartsheet is used for in our org is task management and tracking deadlines. This is something Smartsheet is a huge benefit to our team for.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I love how user-friendly Smartsheet is; even if I'm using it for the first time, I can understand how to use it easily. I really appreciate the availability of multiple filters and how it allows me to track changes seamlessly. I enjoy the online availability, which means even if someone from the team is not available, I can see the last work they've done on Smartsheet. Also, multiple people can use it simultaneously. The variety in data tracking is another aspect I like a lot as it enhances our daily work tracking and allocation processes.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I don't like the data saving time. It takes a little longer to save the data.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet to track daily work and allocate tasks. It helps keep track of clients, calculate weekly productivity, and see the last work done if someone is unavailable. I like the ease of use, filters, and multiple user access to track changes without affecting others.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

The integration across forms and sheets is seamless. Being able to create visual, live sheets that form a key part of our functional processes has been really valuable. 

The dashboard feature has allowed us to consolidate all relevant information into central locations, that feature tracking, links and detail that we no longer have to sift through multiple reports for. 

The feedback is responsive, with the performance and aid that is offered throughout the coding process creates an easy to use issue resolution. 

I feel like I am getting my moneys worth for the programme, as it is central to a large variety of our functions. 

The helpful detail when familiarising yourself with the programme allows for a smooth onboarding process, and AI integration across multiple areas is helpful.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Certain functions and automations could be more helpful. 

I.e Time not existing as a function, ways to work around it but would help the UX. 
Automation in terms of moving rows - the ability to move certain columns to a different sheet when criteria were met would be incredibly helpful.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Central data collection for reporting, consolidating all of our workstreams and allowing us to have readily accessible information that is easy to locate and find, having all information in one place allows us to experiment and create new tools that have not been used before.

I have been using Smartsheet for project tracking and operational management. Its ability to provide good workflow visibility and task coordination stands out for me. I find it easy to create trackers and dashboards, which helps tremendously with collaboration across teams. The flexible forms and reporting features enable efficient tracking of approvals and project progress. Also, Smartsheet makes it easy to see work's progress and offers a good dashboard for reporting. We switched from Google Sheets and Excel due to its accessibility, automation, forms, and good dashboards.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I find Smartsheet's limited integration with ERP systems like SAP problematic. It makes it difficult to maintain a seamless connection between project execution, finance monitoring, and inventory movement. I also struggle with managing project schedules alongside finance, material, and labor.

I find Smartsheet user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy even for newbies to use. It provides a visual of the data quickly, and it's effortless to update changes in client profiles. I like how customizable it is, allowing us to put a workspace for each section of our data and clients, which gives us easy access to everything. Transitioning data from Excel to Smartsheet was smooth, and I didn't encounter any problems. Setting up Smartsheet was super easy, as we could transfer all files and data with ease.

Nothing specific since everything that we need to use for Smartsheet has been laid out already upon transitioning.

The ability to set up no-code automation workflows have allowed us to streamline processes by reducing manual work, and also send reminders, approvals, etc through

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

- Inability to lock specific cells 
- Pivot app is not free. Excel pivots are free. 
- Per user cost has increased so much since the subscription model change. 
- Post-sales service is VERY poor. Last year our agreement was renewed without notification or any reach out from the sales team; we ended up paying for added apps that we didn't need for another year. This year we were also unable to remove the service we weren't using because we missed a stupid clause that requires us to inform them 30 days before the renewal date. This is a very onerous clause and is NOT standard practice. These past 2 years of renewal they have either not responded (despite us chasing), or been very slow on response --- seems like they are purposely dragging out time so that we fall under the category of "oh too bad you missed the renewal negotiation timeline".

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for project management, and for our contractors to submit some forms. Frankly -- these can also be done on Microsoft or Google tools. Smartsheet does not have that much edge.

I use Smartsheet at Toshiba Business Solutions to help organize our delivery schedule, and it works very well with our setup. I appreciate how Smartsheet keeps our daily schedule in order and available to our team anytime we want to see or look. I really like the flexibility of Smartsheet and all the options it has to offer. Having the option for several team members to have the app and see the schedule at any moment is a standout feature. Also, the initial setup of Smartsheet was as easy as opening it up.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

My main and pretty much only complaint is when I leave the app it goes back to the top/January. When I'm working at the bottom/Nov-Dec I have to scroll all the way down every time.

I like that Smartsheet allows me to share information and status updates with people who don't use Smartsheet, making collaboration much easier. I also appreciate the reporting tools and the automated actions based on data, which simplify how I follow up on spreadsheets or track people to know their status. These features give me quick visibility at a glance on current project statuses without the need to interrupt or micromanage my staff. The automated forms are another feature I find beneficial for creating automation with ease.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I don't like how limited the cell linking feature is. Some tasks are overly complicated compared to Excel. There is a dumb hard limit on how many cells within a single worksheet I can refer to, which limits my ability to extract information on a single pane of glass detail. Also, user access was cumbersome due to the odd licensing nomenclature, and it's frankly odd that a user could bypass MFA.

Smartsheet keeps my team informed of client progress collaboratively and monitors any stragglers. It simplifies tracking spreadsheets and people, providing quick visibility on the status without micromanaging staff.

I like the ease of use! Smartsheet is intuitive and easy to use - the support team is always available to help out with any questions as well! I also enjoy that the system allows the end user to receive a copy of their responses. That way no one gets confused as to what they requested!

When building out Smartsheet, it can be hard to get the user to adopt the program. However, to combat this Smartsheet has an integration and our company has a single sign on process which makes it much easier to use.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a lot of issues with one-off requests that get lost in e-mails. Smartsheet is creating a one-stop shop for all requests. It also serves as a wonderful tracker and tool for project management. The performance tracker on each request has helped us a lot! It allows each person to easily understand what they need to do and which requests are assigned to each person.

I use Smartsheet to collaborate with different groups while working through projects, and I appreciate how it tracks the status of estimates and orders, along with the status of ongoing projects and uploads to our site. I love that Smartsheet is like Excel on steroids, especially for its ability to attach documents to each line and add comments for feedback or questions. This feature really helps us when we send art to another team for site uploads; I can attach high-resolution versions and avoid using emails. It's also a great reference spot for previously uploaded artwork. The setup was easy, and it simplifies our work processes compared to using Excel and emails. Smartsheet avoids us having to use different tools for the same actions.

I'd like to get more people access to it, but nothing that stands out.

I like the workflows and automations that Smartsheet offers. The automatic value changes, alerts to people, report generation, and inventory control are valuable features for me. We also replaced many Excel sheets, which has been a positive change, and the initial setup of Smartsheet was easy.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The calendar should be improved. When we work on the calendar, it cannot display all the fields from the source sheet, nor can all of them be edited sometimes. The "boxes" should be able to be moved directly with the cursor, as well as change the duration by dragging (just like in any planning calendar). It should also allow that even if a multi-selection field is requested in the associated form, the row with the sum of the selected options does not appear, but rather 1 by 1.

Smartsheet solves the problem of working with non-automatable databases and facilitates the generation of workflows. It offers automations such as automatic value changes, alerts, report generation, and stock control.

Smartsheet is a very powerful tool! Our business has customized it to our specific needs, and it's an integral part of our product management processes. I use it almost every day!

Some of the UI can be a bit challenging for newer users. This can make onboarding new team members to our process difficult. Additionally, some of the most useful tools for our business is hidden away deeper in the app than I would like.

Our business needs a powerful tool that we can integrate with our own bespoke internal tools. It does a fantastic job of that! It functions very reliably.

I like that Smartsheet is well-structured, offers data validation, and has in-built reporting using dashboards. Transferring from Excel to Smartsheet is difficult for team members, and the transition could be smoother. I'm unaware of how to link Smartsheet with other tools, which limits integration options. The initial setup was difficult and not intuitive.

So far i am a basic user but it appears intuitive. there are quite a few options on how you want to set it up to be informative and track actions

So far i am not the administrator of smartsheet so not fully able to test it. but would be good to get guided videos on how to use it.

Smartsheet makes it easy to share with colleagues, and the formatting looks good right from the start. There’s no need to do extra formatting in Excel first, for example when you’re working with a table.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

One thing about Smartsheet that I think could be improved is how well content copies and pastes out of Smartsheet. Often, I’m copying and pasting details into Slack or other messaging platforms to quickly share information from one or two items in my sheet. The formatting doesn’t always carry over cleanly, and it often omits the “titles” and surrounding context that make those details easy to understand.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reagent tracing and tracking has been amazing. In the past, trying to manage everything in Excel was kind of a nightmare, and the limited cloud saving and sharing options were hard to use. Now I can track everything directly in a browser, share it with colleagues, and quickly look things up whenever I need to.

The most obvious advantage I've found in Smartsheet is the ability to get a complete view of any project I enter. Smartsheet is also helpful in resource allocation because I can now see my team’s bandwidth instantly and prevent accidentally over-allocating tasks to all team members – even myself. It’s nice to have all the stages of reviewing documents (proofing) and giving/receiving feedback all in one place rather than spread throughout every member of your team’s inbox. The custom dashboard feature allows me to monitor progress without asking each individual for updates, which is a huge stress reliever for me since I hate asking for those kinds of updates.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

The search and filtering functions within Smartsheet require you to use very specific language. If you can’t recall the name of a previous project you’ll probably need to scroll through until you stumble upon it. Onboarding new staff members that aren’t project managers by trade can be difficult due to Smartsheet’s complexity during their first few weeks. And while there are options to adjust notifications via email they are typically extremely generic and alert you simply to log in to Smartsheet. The Mobile App isn’t anywhere near as good as Desktop – especially for rapid checks when you don’t want to wait 30 seconds for the app to load.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My biggest problem was generally the chaos of not understanding what’s happening. Typically, as soon as you hit a team size larger than about 5 people, tracking down where projects stand usually involves getting multiple pieces of information from different people using multiple different tools. Smartsheet puts almost all of these issues to bed by providing one tool where almost everything can be tracked.

Most things are easy and make sense. We use formulas extensively and they are very similar to how they are structured in Excel, which makes the learning curve much easier. We also use sheet automations extensively for notifications and sheet operations (copying rows to other sheets, changing cell values, etc.). Control Center is a key tool for us - we use API calls and automated tasks to create project workspaces and blueprints 5-10 times per week. We also use Data Shuttle to keep key dropdown lists updated. The key benefits are that our data are now much more consistent, which allows us to build much better management reports. Standard processes in Smartsheet also reinforce the standard workflows within the various teams.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

There are some functions that we just can't perform in Smartsheet. The program reports are great for looking at the same data set across all projects, but we can't easily look at different data sets within a project. They also can't include relevant data from a common data set except if we add (another) helper column to the underlying report to use as a filter. For example, I have to add a client status column to filter out inactive clients in the P&L reports. Our leaders have to sift through irrelevant data in order to get an accurate picture of what our current client base looks like. In our environment, a project represents a client and we can't easily build a QBR dashboard and have that roll up across the company. We have to create far too many helper columns to accomplish our goals. In some cases, 60% of the columns in a blueprint are helper columns. There is no native way to build an automation that hands off a task from one team to another because each functional area has its own blueprint. We have used RPA and API assets to work around those shortcomings, but they increase the overall maintenance cost and complexity for the product. We have to store the same data in every sheet rather than storing it once and referencing it elsewhere, which means it doesn't scale well. In sheets where we have large numbers of cross sheet references, performance suffers as a result. Smartsheet isn't strongly typed enough to allow us to tightly specify some data types. For example, I can't specify that a column is an integer or a number and I can't enforce values when they enter the data on the sheet rather than using a form. I also can't prevent people from using the sheet instead of the report. The client success and support teams have spotty records for our requests. We usually have to prompt our CSM multiple times to get action on a specific request. Some of our tickets have taken months(!) to resolve. There are some support people who are on the ball, but they are the exception, unfortunately. Because of all those items, our actual ROI isn't nearly as good as we expected.

The main problems Smartsheet is solving are: 1. reporting, 2. data consistency and governance and 3. process standardization. We migrated from Monday where every user could make whatever changes they wanted. Migrating to Smartsheet allowed us to provide significantly more governance and standardization to our processes. We rolled out standard processes for each team that our experienced leaders had refined and our service providers couldn't modify. It has allowed our people to focus more on supporting our clients rather than tweaking the software they were using. SCC has allowed us to roll out some changes to the entire base in short order and in a controlled manner. Forms allow us to put some governance around incoming data. The data in Smartsheet are significantly more consistent than they were in Monday. Smartsheet provides single-click reporting for those areas where we can use it; something we didn't have in Monday.

The automation builder has been the single biggest time saver for me. I set up workflows where when a row status changes to "Pending Approval" it fires off a notification to the right manager with an update request form — that alone cut maybe 3-4 hours a week of me chasing people down over email or Slack. The drag and drop on Gantt charts is really intuitive too, I can resequence tasks in a planning meeting on the fly without it feeling clunky.
Integration-wise it plays pretty nicely with Microsoft Teams and Outlook which matters because that's what our org runs on. The calendar sync is handy so deadlines show up on people's Outlook calendars without them having to check Smartsheet directly. We also connected it to a Power Automate flow for some of our intake processes and that was relatively painless to set up.
One unexpected benefit — the proofing feature. We started using it for creative review on marketing collateral and it actually replaced a separate proofing tool we were paying for. Didn't even know Smartsheet had that until a coworker showed me.
The AI piece is still pretty new but the formula generation is helpful when I blank on syntax. I'll type what I want in plain English and it usually gets me 80% of the way there which beats Googling Smartsheet community forums every time.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

My biggest complaint is that it positions itself as spreadsheet-like, but it’s missing a lot of the formula depth I’d expect coming from Excel. There’s no XLOOKUP, no INDEX/MATCH, no SUMPRODUCT, no TEXTJOIN, and no UNIQUE. Any time I need to do more analytical work, I end up exporting to Excel anyway to build a pivot table or use Power Query. The COLLECT and JOIN functions are decent as workarounds, but they get messy quickly on larger sheets. If they could bring over even half of the standard Excel formula library, it would cut down a lot on the constant round-tripping of data in and out.

Performance also gets rough once a sheet crosses roughly 5,000+ rows, especially with cross-sheet formulas. I’ve had sheets take 10–15 seconds to load, and sometimes formulas just sit on “loading” for a while. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it’s definitely noticeable.

Pricing feels steep once you need anything beyond the basics. Dashboards are locked behind the Business tier, Dynamic View is an add-on, Data Shuttle is an add-on, and the pivot app is an add-on. It adds up fast, and the per-user cost already isn’t cheap. ROI is still positive for us, but I really wish the packaging felt less nickel-and-dime.

Support has been hit or miss, honestly. Basic tier support is slow—I’ve waited 2–3 days for email responses on issues that were blocking my work. Most of the time, the community forums are actually more helpful. Onboarding was fine, though: the learning center videos are decent, and my team picked it up within a couple of weeks without formal training.

The AI features are promising, but they still feel early. The sheet summary generation is fine for a quick overview, but I wouldn’t trust it for anything I’m sending to leadership without double-checking. Formula suggestions also sometimes hallucinate functions that don’t exist in Smartsheet, which is pretty ironic given that’s already my biggest complaint.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

I like the simplicity of Smartsheet; it feels like an Excel spreadsheet, which makes things easy to understand and manipulate. The automation features are really helpful for our work, especially with changing project timelines where we need to stay in sync using dependencies and predecessors. The reporting features help break down complex projects into bite-sized pieces so team members aren't overwhelmed. Additionally, I appreciate the capability to view complex data through filters and build out dashboards, which adds value to my work with Smartsheet.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I used to be a huge proponent of Smartsheet and have recommended it to a lot of our clients, but with the recent changes, it's become extremely frustrating, especially with the new format of member seats. There's been a lot of confusion on the service side. Also, it seems like there are a lot of glitches in Smartsheet that weren't there before. I think there's a lack of clarity about what's going on with the backend, and we seem to get different responses from different people about what's possible right now and what is not. Our fee to use Smartsheet has increased pretty rapidly because of the new shift with the paid member seats and features. I actually feel pretty frustrated with Smartsheet right now, and we're looking into alternatives.

I use Smartsheet for staying organized, communicating team deadlines, and coordinating with external partners. Its automations and reporting features help manage complex projects, and it feels intuitive like Excel for handling data.

The ability for the data to be located in one place and be automatically updated when a change is made. The dashboard ability is very useful.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I don't dislike anything yet as I am learning to use this tool. This means my discomfort is not always knowing how to do what I want to do. I do think the security model needs some work. Users should be able to customize their views.

It has enabled my team to be more effective as they only have to update their portion of the data. We are discovering new ways to use this tool every day.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet serves as a foundational tool for our project coordination, providing a structured framework for tracking progress and ensuring team accountability. Its primary strength lies in its "cellular" flexibility, allowing for a seamless transition from simple task lists to complex, interconnected project ecosystems. 
The most significant value driver is the ability to link different tables, creating a "Single Source of Truth".  

Regading the Data Consistency, when a date is updated in a granular project sheet, it automatically reflects in high-level leadership dashboards, eliminating manual entry errors.  

It has also improved our Automated Reporting. Instead of manual weekly updates, we use automated reports that aggregate tasks from multiple sheets based on criteria like "Status" or "Assigned To". 
 
The interface allows users to toggle between Grid, Gantt, and Card (Kanban) views without changing the underlying data.  Reliable Speed: Performance remains robust with large datasets and complex formulas, maintaining minimal loading times.  Familiarity: The layout is intuitive for those comfortable with traditional spreadsheets, which aids in team adoption.  Operational EvaluationIntegrations: Smartsheet connects effectively with our communication stack (e.g., Slack or Teams) to push task notifications directly to users.  

Support & Onboarding were challenging but after the initial introduciton shock, the situation improved. While the initial learning curve is shallow, mastering advanced features like "WorkApps" requires more intentional onboarding to unlock full value.  Pricing & ROIMoney’s Worth: The platform provides high value by consolidating project tracking, document storage, and reporting into a single license. 

Lastly, with regards to AI & Intelligence, we are not currently leveraging Smartsheet's AI capabilities, but they represent a strategic opportunity for future growth:  Predictive Analysis: Using AI to identify potential project bottlenecks based on historical data. Utilizing AI to build complex cross-sheet formulas, lowering the technical barrier for new users.  
All in all, the Administrative Savings are significant. ROI is realized through the hours saved in coordination and the increased visibility that prevents costly project delays.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

One drawback I’ve experienced is that occasionally there are bugs where newly added text disappears, which can be frustrating during active work.
Overall, despite this occasional issue, it remains a reliable solution that enhances organization and helps keep projects on track.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Smartsheet solves the critical problem of fragmented information by allowing us to link different tables together, which ensures that all project data remains synchronized across the organization. By creating this single source of truth, the platform eliminates the need for manual status updates and the human error often associated with compiling reports from multiple sources. I mostly use it to align timelines and estimate overall project health and performance, along with tracking colleagues’ availability. This level of visibility directly benefits the team by increasing accountability and saving hours of administrative coordination each week through automated notifications and data flows. Furthermore, the flexibility to switch between different views like Gantt charts or Kanban boards allows us to adapt to various project needs while maintaining a clear, structured way to track progress. Ultimately, Smartsheet provides a reliable solution that enhances organization, scales with our growing project complexity, and offers future opportunities for optimization through AI-driven predictive analysis

What I like best about Smartsheet is how easy it is to use, especially compared to more complex project management tools. The interface is clean and intuitive, so it doesn’t take long to understand how to build sheets, set up workflows, or start tracking tasks.

Another strong point is how quickly it responds. Whether I’m updating rows, switching between sheets, or collaborating with others in real time, everything feels smooth and fast. That responsiveness makes it much easier to stay productive without delays or frustration.

What I dislike about Smartsheet is that, while it’s very user-friendly at a basic level, some of the more advanced features can feel complicated or unintuitive. Things like building complex automations, formulas, or reports often take time to learn, and the learning curve can be steeper than expected for new users.

One of the biggest problems it addresses is scattered communication and disconnected tools. Instead of using emails, spreadsheets, and separate apps to manage work, Smartsheet centralizes tasks, deadlines, files, and updates in one place. I like the visibility that Smartsheet provides, allowing me to know who is executing each task. The initial setup process was also quite functional.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I miss it being a bit more functional. Give more visibility of when multiple tasks are executed on the same line and have a place to record this in a way that allows generating KPIs later. We place the tasks per line, but often there are 5 tasks in one line, so we put them all in a single one. It records the demand by demand, and not by the quantity executed.

**What problems is Smartsheet solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Smartsheet to organize who is executing each task, it gives me visibility on that. I miss it being more functional, especially for managing multiple tasks in the same line and recording that to generate KPIs.

I really like Smartsheet's nice clear interface, which makes it easy to track quotes through to orders and filter tracking numbers. The interface is really clear, which is great because it allows the staff to see just what they need without getting involved in the background operations. There are a lot of clever things happening in the background that streamline our work process. Setting up Smartsheet was straightforward too, thanks to good clear instructions and guidelines on how to use it. I think it does a good job for what it’s intended to do.

It's not an ERP system. But can do a lot of those things.

I like the automation in Smartsheet. So if somebody requests something, I don't have to check manually right away. I can just get an email notification, check, and toggle the status, which I see as automation too. It notifies the request right away, and I like that.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

Sometimes, I have two Smartsheets linked, and if I approve something, it doesn't always go through to the next Smartsheet. I'll approve it, wait five seconds, and it says, changes have been made, do you wanna refresh? I press refresh, and it's back to the original status. The same issue occurs with denials; it just goes back to the original status. I don't know why that happens. Now I'm putting in notes for the denial reason instead of it moving to the denial sheet. But that needs to be fixed.

I use Smartsheet to receive requests, review them, and notify users automatically. The automation means I don't have to check manually, saving time with email notifications and status updates.

Smartsheet serves as a centralized hub for data management, project management, and department operations. It operationalized my department by allowing the team to have one platform to communicate about project plans, updates, and workflow. I love the automation features, the forms, and being able to attach documents/URLS/links to the sheets. I also love the toggle between the calendar and grid views! The grid feature is similar to Excel, which made the transition smoother and more intuitive for the team. The initial setup was very easy, thanks to our helpful Smartsheet pro.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

We have to pay per membership for our team to have full access to use the platform. I wish it was more cost effective.

I like how we are able to track different projects and have insights on deliverables, including visualizations and using AI features. It's more dynamic than Excel spreadsheets. I do like the fact that we can connect multiple work streams and the ability to visualize is helpful.

I think that having tabs or the ability to connect work streams more easily would be nice. It might be just that I don't know that feature yet. I also wish it would connect to Copilot. If I had to learn Smartsheet from scratch without someone on the team who was proficient, I believe that it would have been a long learning curve.

I use Smartsheet to manage projects and track deliverables from contractors. It organizes competing interests, tracks dates, allows senior leadership to monitor deliverables, and connects work streams. The insights, visualizations, and AI features make it dynamic and more effective than Excel.

I use Smartsheet primarily as trackers for financial data, projects, and Gantt charts. It lets me stay on top of finances really well and is the easiest way to create timing plans. I appreciate the ease of use and functionality, especially the ability to view timing plans in different views and create dependencies. When one step of the timing plan changes, I can amend it in the spreadsheet, and all consequent steps automatically update, saving me time. The initial setup was very easy with single sign-on.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I often find sharing Smartsheet with clients quite difficult, often they're unable to access the sheets I create. I print PNGs but to get it to fit on one page the sheet is too small. Perhaps it's my lack of knowledge on how to scale it so I get a hi-res export.

**What do you like best about Smartsheet?**

Smartsheet is basically like an advanced Excel where you can store data and build a pipeline. I like that it’s very easy to use and understand, so anybody with some Excel knowledge could quickly set up their database or pipeline in Smartsheet. It’s also convenient that I can create a few different sheets, each set up in its own way depending on what I need. I’ve never seen it go down, and it’s been pretty fast in terms of performance and saving sheets.

**What do you dislike about Smartsheet?**

I dislike that if I forget to save after making a change within my sheet, it won’t save at all. I’d prefer it to save automatically and keep up with the last few changes (unless I missed that function).

Also, the limit on the amount of data you can have per sheet was too low for our company. I was just an admin assistant, so I had no control over what plan we had, but instead of upgrading to a better plan, we would split one sheet into two once we reached the data limit for a single sheet. I also don’t recall AI being integrated to help with anything, but I didn’t mind since there are already so many AI options to choose from.

I love smartsheet. Automations are easy to make. Users ramp up fast. Customers love using it to check on the project statuses. Email notifications setup is easy. Integrates well with powerquery and power bi. 
Never bugs.

Losing the option to undo (ctrl z) once you saved a sheet. With the autosave, it sometimes lead to pricy mistakes.

Also, formulas system could be improved. Sometimes, it is kinda hard to understand the issues with a formula.

The initial setup for our team was also very easy.

User experience for new users. There can be a learning curve when it comes to setting up formulas, workflows or navigation. Sometimes it could be a bit manual as well so setting up automations.
