I use ServiceNow IT Asset Management to efficiently track, manage, and optimize the lifecycle of IT assets across the organization. I like its centralized visibility and automation capabilities because it provides a single source of truth for all assets, making tracking and reporting much easier. The integration with other ServiceNow modules streamlines workflows like procurement and incident management. Centralized visibility gives me a single, reliable view of all hardware and software assets, which eliminates data silos and improves accuracy in tracking ownership, usage, and lifecycle status. Automation reduces manual effort by handling tasks like asset provisioning, approvals, and lifecycle updates, saving time and minimizing errors. Together, they help me make faster, data-driven decisions, ensure compliance, and optimize asset utilization across the organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One area for improvement is the initial setup and configuration, which can be complex and time-consuming, especially for organizations without prior ServiceNow experience. The licensing model can also be difficult to understand and manage at times. Additionally, reporting and customization, while powerful, may require advanced knowledge or scripting, making it less user-friendly for new users. The most challenging part of the initial setup is data normalization and integration with external systems like discovery tools and procurement sources. Mapping asset data correctly and ensuring consistency across CMDB and ITAM tables can be complex. Configuring software asset management rules and license models requires a good understanding of entitlements and reconciliation logic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
