## About Sentry
Sentry is an application monitoring and error tracking platform that helps developers identify, debug, and resolve software issues in production environments across web, mobile, desktop, game, and AI-powered applications. The platform captures errors, crashes, and performance problems in real time, providing developers with stack traces, user context, and diagnostic data needed to reproduce and fix bugs. Sentry supports over 100 programming languages and frameworks, including JavaScript, Python, Java, Ruby, PHP, Go, React, Django, and mobile platforms like iOS and Android. Core monitoring capabilities: - Error tracking groups similar errors into issues, showing frequency, affected users, and the exact code location where problems occur - Performance monitoring traces requests through distributed systems to identify slow database queries, API bottlenecks, and code-level performance problems - Session Replay records user interactions leading up to errors, capturing clicks, network activity, and console logs for easier reproduction - Logs captures structured log data from your applications alongside errors and traces, enabling search and filtering by message content, severity level, and custom attributes - AI observability provides visibility into LLM applications, AI agents, and Model Context Protocol servers, tracking prompts, model calls, tool usage, and token consumption Developers integrate Sentry by installing an SDK and adding a few lines of code to their application. The platform automatically captures unhandled exceptions, while developers can manually track custom errors and performance metrics. Sentry processes events in real time, sending alerts through Slack, email, PagerDuty, or other notification channels when issues occur. Additional features and capabilities: - AI-powered debugging through Seer, which analyzes errors to identify root causes and suggest code fixes with high accuracy - Distributed tracing that follows requests across microservices, serverless functions, and third-party APIs to pinpoint failure points - Custom dashboards and alerts for monitoring specific metrics, error rates, or performance thresholds important to each team - Profiling tools that provide code-level visibility into where time is being spent in production, identifying slow functions, call stacks, and performance regressions across backend services and frontend/mobile user flows - Workflow integrations with GitHub, Jira, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and other development tools to create tickets or link errors to commits automatically The platform serves development teams at organizations ranging from individual developers to large enterprises. More than 100,000 organizations use Sentry, processing billions of error events daily. Sentry offers both cloud-hosted and self-hosted deployment options, with pricing tiers based on event volume. A free tier supports small projects and individual developers.

## Sentry Reviews
  ### 1. I am very impressed by the real-time monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marek R. | Java Developer, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

Because of how well it integrates with Java, I was able to incorporate it without drastically altering our code, which greatly increased its acceptance with us. With the application performance monitoring tool, we have been able to streamline processes and identify bottlenecks that were previously invisible without more advanced technology. Its real-time error detection and reporting capabilities, which are critical for all our Java projects, have become an integral part of our development process. Thanks to real-time notifications that include full details of errors, the exact line of code where the error occurred and the context of the problem, we no longer have to spend so much time debugging the code.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

A few of the team's developers needed some time to adjust to their new workflow before we could properly configure the notification rules and tailor reports to our requirements.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sentry has changed the rules of the game for our organization. I had to invest a considerable effort in checking the records for production errors. We can now find defects in minutes and resolve them before they affect users thanks to its automatic tracking system. A few days ago we discovered an unexpected latency problem in a critical API, it was really an amazing experience. With the help of Sentry’s performance analysis, we can identify the specific technique that was causing queries to run slowly, improve it and achieve a reduction in response time of more than 60%.

  ### 2. Sentry A Blessing in Debugging

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manish M. | Contractor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

It is really easy to track the errors and any exceptions through Sentry. It makes debugging really easy.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

The latest UI is a bit complex and could have been a little easier.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sentry helps in monitoring the bugs from the Application with latest updates.

  ### 3. increased observability into our core product through comprehensive error logging and monitoring.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anurag S. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2025

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

We use the TypeScript SDK, and it is straightforward to set up and configure various loglets. The built-in logger makes it easy to record different types of logs needed for error monitoring and generating stack traces.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

There isn't much to mention, but on a larger scale, our error budget tends to run out frequently, which causes the monitoring to stop. As a result, we have to keep increasing the budget to maintain monitoring.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool helps us address the observability of errors in our product at scale, while also functioning as a bug management system. Errors that are tracked can be assigned to team members, along with sufficient context, making it easier to resolve and monitor them. Additionally, it provides a summary of ongoing events and groups them together to present a clearer overall picture.

  ### 4. Effortless Capture with Excellent Filters and Navigation

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

Just works and captures everything you need and want. Great filters and navigation. Provides relevant information when you need it.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

Implementation issues both with Next.js and Expo in every major release Sentry has a problem and uploading source maps causes build errors so easily. Prices are high and has a lot of features that just clutter the UI.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Capture production errors and fix them quickly.

  ### 5. Great

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

Ease of use and open source, easy to find issues

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

Nothing really, I find it easy to use and the libraries are good

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Catching bugs in production

  ### 6. Excellent error tracking service

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

Sentry is the best solution I've used for tracking errors across our sites. The setup is super simple (at least in our case) and it has plenty of config options.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

Pricing structures could be a bit better, but it's no worse than competitors.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sentry simplifies a lot of processes that we need for monitoring our sites into one tool. It tracks & notifies us of bugs on the sites while giving excellent stack traces and environment information, it gives us aggregated information about our logs and the occurrence of warnings & errors, and allows us to monitor real-user performance of our sites.
This saves us the effort of having to conduct real user tests, having to aggregate data from our logs into usable information. It also gives us an easy solution for notifying our devs when there are errors in real-time.

  ### 7. Saved by back a few times

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** 👋🏻 Ste O. | Staff Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

I've had a few issues, middle of the night alerts at work that without sentry, I'd have had a very confusing time to solve.

The fact it pointed me to the pain point and let me see what the user saw was invaluable

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

Nothing much, thankfully. They've been there for me when needed!

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see bugs and errors a lot faster helps my confidence in developing software

  ### 8. Fix bugs before they even get reported.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saroj P. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 16, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

I like the fact that it's extremely straightforward to use. has amazing tools like replays etc that have made debugging my react native applications very easy.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

there's a little bit of delay on error getting shown in the dashboard. but super managable.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've have issues where a bug fix would be delayed due to async communications as all teams are distributed. but, with sentry, it immediately notifies exact cause to the email and most of the times, the outcome is 'aha that's what it is' and push a fix.

  ### 9. An indispensable tool for quick bug resolution.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natan B. | Full Stack Developer, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

The depth of information for bug resolution in the code is impressive. Sentry provides granular yet simple insights into these details. The best part is that it's plug-and-play, allowing you to implement it in just minutes.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

There aren't many plan options. Unfortunately, application insights are only available in the Business plan. The entry price might not be feasible for those just starting out with something small.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sentry is used for error alerts in production and tracking these errors for proper resolution, as well as improving query performance, which can often impact the application.

  ### 10. Great tool, always improving and great company philosophy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

The ability and philosophy of giving developers ownership of their code from end-to-end. The integrations especially with GitHub and related workflows are extremely powerful if leveraged correctly. They are always improving and open to suggestions, and they are open source! Enterprise support is amazing and it is extremely easy to use, most setups are minor and quick to implement.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

The budget management for "noisy" projects in a larger organization are problematic, they need to add a monthly hard stop limit of budget to projects (and alert on it) rather than the reserved allocation (essentially they did it in reverse). Along with that, improving how the JavaScript SDK is easily used with micro-frontends would be helpful but that is a relatively new technology (though it's growing in adoption quickly).

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us monitor our web applications and some backends (we'd use more if the budget management was easier) it allows us to make actionable quickly any issues and get a view of the system health.

  ### 11. Sentry FTW

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ian C. | Senior Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

It works! It's easy to maintain as self-host ( there is separate repo for it)
There are increasing number of debug helping features (replays and profiling).
Nicely integrates with SSO.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

When self-hosting it consists of around 30 containers and some of them "fail" quietly that results in explosions when you dont expect. Yet still happens rather rarely.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We track bugs and grouping them is very useful

  ### 14. Essential tool for managing ATS integrations efficiently.

  ### 17. The most useful tool for error detection and monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

Sentry is one of the most useful tool we used for error detection and monitoring. It's very easy to integrate in our project, and help us to identify edge cases and bugs when they happen. The alerting feature is also well proportioned: you are getting alerts when the number of errors is escalating, and periodic review emails, which avoid spamming your inbox on every single error. Lastly, the transaction feature allows to easily detect slow endpoints in your web app.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

The product is really easy to use and straightforward, we haven't identified any blocker. However, I wish it would be easier to allocate error quotas per project

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Detecting errors in our Python applications
Monitoring API endpoints and detecting slow endpoints

  ### 18. Great tool for discovering bugs in your code

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Sentry?**

Sentry is great for catching bugs in your code. Just integrate it with your codebase (for us, it was a PHP integration which was easy with composer), then set up notifications (eg. email or Slack notifications), and you'll get notified whenever an error is thrown in your production app. There are dashboards where you can see issues by project, resolved/unresolved, etc and assign issues to team members as needed.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

The error limits at each plan level. Sometimes, a bug generates many similar errors, and we run out of the limits, which then locks us out for the rest of the month. Apart from this, Sentry has been working well for us so far.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Catching and fixing bugs in production code, that we didn't previously discover during development. Without Sentry, we may otherwise not know how to address a customer's issue.

  ### 19. As a product Sentry has been great in unearthing production defects & uncovering performance trends

Sentry is amazingly fast, and you can easily discover the issues and crashes with the sentry's help. Also it shows you all the details of the device, the time, date and events that happened before the user experienced a crash which is very helpful in reproducing and fixing the issue. Overall it is a great product.

**What do you dislike about Sentry?**

Sometimes sentry cannot log crashes and misses the crash. Also, sorting your search according to a specific device or criteria can be difficult, and it can be hard to find the crash or issue according to the device or OS.

**What problems is Sentry solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with mobile crash reporting, which can drastically affect the user experience.
It also helps monitor the application's performance of different modules where the application might take a lot of time to load. Also, it allows us to monitor our releases' performance and adoption.

  ### 31. Developers Best Error Tracking and Monitoring Tool
