"Streamlined Automation with Excellent Support"
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Product Development?

I really like the level of tech that SAP Integrated Product Development provides, especially its scalability and the inherent functions we can utilize with an ERP system. It allows us to focus on processes needing our expertise rather than tasks that can be automated or augmented. SAP helps create a single flow of data across all systems, solving the problem of data silos and improving efficiencies by automating workflows. The initial integration process was smooth, with a lot of technical support and assistance from SAP, making deployment and data migration a great experience. What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

Sometimes I feel the automation workflows have a little bit of clunkiness into them. The different modules don't really talk well to each other and require a lot of customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Enhances Product Innovation with Collaboration Ease"
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Product Development?

I appreciate how SAP Integrated Product Development helps me innovate new products quickly, taking them from initial design to end development. I find the real-time collaboration feature particularly useful as it allows me to work with others seamlessly and understand the stage of product development, whether it's a new feature or product design. I like the ease of use and how it enables me to design better products by visualizing and managing the product life cycle from start to finish, including the feedback loop. The software helps me gather customer feedback and link it into the product development life cycle, providing transparency and insights. I'm able to collaborate better with stakeholders across different stages and deliver better value to both customers and the business. Additionally, the setup was pretty easy for my personal space, which enhanced my onboarding journey. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

I think what doesn't work today is that I would still have to, like, go to different pages to understand the different stages of product and to having different features. What would help me better is a better way to navigate to the features on different services that the SAP Integrated Product Development offers. Maybe something like a hub of sorts, wherein I could interact with a chat based model to get me to the right set of things that I'm trying to solve for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Product Lifecycle Collaboration with SAP Integrated Product Development"
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Product Development?

What I appreciate most about SAP Integrated Product Development is the way it unifies multiple stages of product lifecycle management in one connected environment. It enables teams across engineering, manufacturing, and the supply chain to collaborate more smoothly, which helps cut down on miscommunication and avoidable delays. Its integration with other SAP modules also supports consistent data and real-time visibility across related processes. As a result, it becomes easier to manage product changes, stay on top of compliance requirements, and accelerate time-to-market. Overall, it helps organizations streamline development workflows while strengthening product quality and improving decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

One of the biggest challenges with SAP Integrated Product Development is its complexity, particularly for new users. The interface and workflows can feel overwhelming at the beginning, and it usually takes time—along with proper training—to become comfortable using the system. Customization and implementation can also be resource-intensive, often requiring skilled consultants and leading to higher costs. In some situations, performance may slow when working with large datasets or running complex processes. While the integration capabilities are strong, they can make troubleshooting harder, since problems may span multiple modules. Overall, the platform is robust, but the steep learning curve and ongoing maintenance effort can be a real drawback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Product Development with Some Complexity"
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Product Development?

I like how SAP Integrated Product Development acts as a single source of truth, which really helps to connect and streamline development, testing, compliance, and marketing. It breaks down barriers between different teams like engineering, testing, and marketing which is great because it reduces overall time and effort. I also appreciate the version control feature as it eliminates the parallel development with different teams. The ability to directly connect this with my requirement document is very useful so that everyone in different teams can easily access it. Overall, I save a lot of time and effort with this tool, especially by reducing manual tasks and assigning direct work to the teams. Streamlining processes with this tool helps us go faster to market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

It has a very complex UI with so many functionalities; learning everything takes a lot of time and effort. It is very complex to configure; one mistake and the entire process have to be done again. Too much of customization sometimes makes the product more and more vulnerable to errors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

One of the main challenges with SAP Integrated Product Development is that it can feel complex and not very intuitive for users, particularly during the initial rollout. The learning curve is fairly steep, and without proper training in place, it can slow teams down and make early adoption more difficult. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Product Development, but Usability Can Improve"
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Product Development?

I like how SAP Integrated Product Development brings structure and clarity to the complex product development process. The centralized product data management is a standout feature for me, allowing for a single source of truth for BOMs, specifications, and documents, which significantly helps in avoiding inconsistencies and redundant work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

One challenge for me is the learning curve and usability. The platform can feel a bit complex, especially for new users or teams that are not deeply familiar with SAP ecosystems. Some workflows are not as intuitive as they could be, and it takes time to get fully comfortable. Another area is UI/UX consistency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Seamless Digital Thread That Speeds Time-to-Market"
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Product Development?

SAP Integrated Product Development (IPD) excels by creating a seamless digital thread that connects R&D, procurement, and manufacturing within a single source of truth. By breaking down departmental silos, it enables concurrent engineering, allowing teams to plan the supply chain and production while the design is still being finalized. This integration significantly accelerates time-to-market and reduces costly errors by ensuring that any design change is instantly reflected across the entire enterprise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

Primary drawbacks stem from its high complexity and the significant resources required to maintain it. For many organizations, the steep learning curve and intricate user interface can lead to low initial adoption rates without extensive (and expensive) staff training. The implementation timeline is often long and costly, making it a heavy lift for smaller companies that might find the system's rigid structures more cumbersome than helpful. "Seamless End-to-End Traceability and Integration in S/4HANASAP"
What do you like best about SAP Integrated Product Development?

What stands out most about SAP Integrated Product Development is how seamlessly it connects engineering, manufacturing, and business processes into one coherent workflow. It delivers genuine end-to-end traceability, starting with requirements and product design and continuing through manufacturing planning and cost evaluation, all within the S/4HANA environment. Because everything is so tightly integrated, change and configuration management become far more effective: engineering changes are immediately visible downstream, which helps reduce errors, rework, and delays. With earlier insight into cost, feasibility, and production impact, SAP IPD enables teams to make better decisions sooner in the development cycle and supports a reliable single source of truth across the organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development?

What I dislike about SAP Integrated Product Development is the steep learning curve and the high level of process discipline it demands to be truly effective. The system can feel complex and heavy, particularly for engineering users who are more accustomed to specialized PLM tools, and the user interface isn’t always intuitive or easy to navigate. On top of that, implementation and customization can be time-consuming and resource-intensive, so organizations need strong change management and thorough training to fully realize the benefits.
