Strong role automation and SoD controls, but licensing visibility needs improvement **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Manish D. | Application Development Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026 **What do you like best about SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance?** We implemented IAG back in 2024, and so far the biggest benefit has been that we can automate role assignment in SAP S/4HANA Cloud without manual intervention, while still following the SoD ruleset. It also helps us track who has which roles and identify when someone is violating the SoDs. In addition, we have been able to add multiple systems, such as Concur and CIM, for role assignment with the user’s line manager approval and role owner approval. It supports this approval concept as part of the process. **What do you dislike about SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance?** At times, we have faced difficulties understanding the licensing part because we can only see the licensing details on the SAP for Me portal, and elsewhere we don’t have much information, such as who is consuming what, or why a particular user is being licensed. This is especially confusing because there are multiple inactive users who are still being licensed. Also, at time user role provisioning failed but in job logs there is very limited information why it failed. **What problems is SAP Cloud Identity Access Governance solving and how is that benefiting you?** IAG has automated the role provisioning task for us, removing the manual effort. It also gives us the possibility to design business roles, which makes it easier for business users to understand how to request access and what to request.
