"Makes big PO projects easy"
5/5
What do you like best about POEditor?

I am new to PO files and needed to translate a full survey into a foreign language. At first, I thought I had to edit an entire text file; then, I discovered POEditor. I was amazed by how simple the program was and how fast I completed the project using it. It has some really great features that flag errors and shows you the % complete to ensure you haven't missed a thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

I can't think of a single thing. It is an excellent program! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Elegant + easy"
4.5/5
What do you like best about POEditor?

- Gives you suggestions for translations in case a similar string was translated before

- Gives you feedback when the translation is longer than the original string

- You can see the history of the string translations

- Via the "comments" functionality, you can share additional explanation about the strings Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

- I want to be able to search for strings *across projects*

- It's not possible to see the "real" context of the strings (but I don't think any Translation tool can do that for you...) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anca Huzum of POEditor

Thank you kindly for your feedback, Willemijn.

We've already noted the idea of a cross-project search function and will evaluate how it can be implemented.

As for showing where a string appears in the software you're localizing, adding screenshots to the terms could help: https://poeditor.com/kb/how-to-add-screenshots-to-a-poeditor-localization-project

If you have any other ideas, we'd love to hear them!

Response from Anca Huzum of POEditor

Hello and thank you for your feedback. Regarding not receiving notifications when new translations available, could you please email us at info@poeditor.com and give us more details about your role in the localization project? I think we can offer some hints regarding how to cover this need.

"Perfect Translation Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about POEditor?

It's easy to access and use, both for individuals with no experience and large outsourced companies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

Sometimes some special characters can be entered by accident which our system doesn't support, so it would be great to have a feature immediately flagging such entries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anca Huzum of POEditor

Hey there, Anthony! We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback.

I'm not sure if this would help with avoiding those special characters, but we do have a QA Checks module which checks for certain mismatches between the source and target string: https://poeditor.com/kb/qa-checks

If the QA Checks module doesn't cover your needs, please feel welcome to share more details about your use case with us on email at info at poeditor.com and we'll be happy to search for solutions together. If it isn't something very particular, perhaps we can add an extra check in the QA module. :)

What do you like best about POEditor?

Simple to use, API is fast and easy to use, GitLab sync was helpful! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

It would be helpful to have a contributor sum up/dashboard with a unified view. Also, a duplicate service to fix any issues on initial imports and prevent any duplicate terms either in the reference language or any language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anca Huzum of POEditor

Hey, Hugo! Thanks for sharing your impressions of POEditor. We've noted all your observations and will see how we can improve our localization platform with their help. We actually already have some new options planned for contributor management, which we hope will be useful to you.

For further suggestions, you know where to find us. :)
