# Is WinCan worth it for utilities that need a stable, reliable vendor with strong support?

Whether a platform is worth adopting is often reduced to a feature comparison, but for a utility, the more consequential question is vendor stability: will the company still support the software and respond to support tickets five years into a multi-decade asset management cycle? That's a different kind of trust than a features list, and it's hard to answer from G2 alone right now since reviewer volume across wastewater pipeline inspection software is still thin.

What makes this worth settling carefully:

Installed base size, and how long the vendor has operated in sewer inspection specifically, not just software generally

Whether support is delivered directly by the vendor or through a reseller layer

How GIS and asset management integrations hold up as those third-party systems update on their own schedules

Whether there's a track record independent of the vendor's own marketing claims

What the reviews actually show for each:

WinCan: Describes an installed base of more than 8,500 licenses worldwide and positions itself as the long-standing name in sewer inspection, with cloud-based AI features and GIS integration built into the core product; a license count that size suggests staying power.

For utilities running WinCan today: Has support responsiveness matched what an install base that size would suggest, or does ticket turnaround vary more than the vendor's own numbers imply?

For a utility, I’d weigh support consistency and upgrade stability as heavily as the feature set itself. The strongest evidence would be whether long-term customers can point to predictable ticket resolution and integrations that keep working through GIS or asset-system changes.
