POEditor Reviews & Product Details

POEditor is a developer-friendly translation management system for teams that want continuous localization to be simple and scalable. Operating since 2012 and trusted by over 4,000 companies worldwide, POEditor covers the full localization workflow, from string management and translation to review and export, and connects to the tools developers already use. Teams can sign up and start managing strings within minutes, with no onboarding call needed, and a fast, responsive support team is there whenever questions come up. Developers, PMs, and content teams all work in one place. • BENEFITS • 1\ Automated localization pipelines, without the complexity A core feature is the Workflows system: automated localization pipelines triggered by events such as new strings, language completion, scheduled runs, or Git-based updates. Workflows can include translation memory pre-filling, AI translation, QA checks, and export/import steps — covering the full continuous localization cycle without manual intervention. 2\ AI translation that stays in your control POEditor supports BYOK AI translation, letting teams connect their own LLM providers — OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Azure AI, Amazon Bedrock — via API key. You control the model, the prompt, the data, and the cost. No LLM lock-in, no LSP dependency. 3\ Human-in-the-loop review is built in AI-generated translations are reviewed and refined directly in the web-based editor, so automation and quality control work together rather than against each other. 4\ Pricing that makes sense Pricing is based on string volume and feature access, publicly listed, with a permanent free plan for smaller projects and OSI-approved open source software. No per-seat charges for translators. No sales call to find out what you're paying. • KEY FEATURES • - Git integrations with GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps - AI translation via OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Azure AI and Amazon Bedrock, with custom prompt support - Automated Workflows — triggered by new strings, Git updates, schedules, or language completion - REST API available on all plans, including free - Unlimited contributor seats — no per-seat charges for translators - Translation memory, glossary management, and automated QA checks - Human-in-the-loop review built into the editor - Free for OSI-approved open source projects - No LSP or LLM lock-in - Full CI/CD support via API and Git integrations - AI Quality Evaluation (MQM framework) & Fix - Official POEditor MCP server - AI Glossary suggestions - Images POEditor Product Tour: https://poeditor.com/product_tour/

"Useful translation management with a good api"

4/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

Hooking into Poeditors api allows us to make the process of translating the products we make really straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

It would be better if poeditor allowed more bulk management tools - too often i have to flick between languages to update one line for example Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I find POEditor very simple to use and it's a good way to work together."

5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

To be able to work with multiple people on a topic at the same time. But also being able to alert those who are not online about fuzzy things (my favorite button). :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

There wasn't anything I didn't like or had trouble using. Keep improving! I don't know if it has an app, if not it would be great to have it to be able to give instant feedback for our work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering POEditor:

It is a very convenient platform for teamwork. It is possible to work efficiently both simultaneously and diachronically. Team members always answer our questions (sometimes a little late) but we always have the help we need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is POEditor solving and how is that benefiting you?

We do translations for an application and teamwork is just getting easier and funnier thanks to POEditor. We can discuss about problems via comments and show each other the fuzzy strings via fuzzy button. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Robust translation management product"

4.5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

We are a multinational construction management Saas startup (www.remato.com), launched mid-2018. We adopted POEditor from day one and have no regrets at all. We currently manage 19 languages, 2000+ unique words, and 40,000+ total strings. Both developers & product people have been and still are happy. The best feature for us is mass auto-translate. But overall decent user experience is also a definite plus. Customer support is also excellent - responsive and reacts with substance. Over the years, we have made a few suggestions regarding what the product is missing from our experience. And in all cases, POEditor has included our recommendations in their development pipeline. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

For us, there isn't anything worth mentioning. POEditor is a solid platform that always has done what we need - during 3+ years, we have not considered any alternatives. No need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering POEditor:

It's easy to try it out to see if it works for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is POEditor solving and how is that benefiting you?

Given we support 19 languages and we ship new features each month, managing translation in a cost-effective manner is critical. This is where POEditor helps us do much with little. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use, intelligent, low barrier for others to assist in translating."

5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

It has a lot of checks & balances to make sure the translations are the same markup as the original text, to help translators. It's super easy for new translators to jump aboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

No dark mode for late-hour translating sessions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"One of the easiest translator CMS I know!"

4.5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

POEditor has a helpful dashboard overview of all your ongoing projects. It sorts the different languages and even lets you create projects in other versions of the same language (like Norwegian Bokmål and Nynorsk). The sorting filters in the actual translation section come in handy to filter for not-yet-translated snippets. The ability to set one of your other translated languages as a baseline helps when there is no direct translation for some words or phrases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

In our company, we have a strict management policy and access level control which PoEditor enforces. This can be a good thing, but it also means you might have to ask your admin for help more often than you like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering POEditor:

Make sure to set up your project structure with your admin. The easier the setup, the quicker you find where you need to go and continue to work on your task. PoEditor is highly modifiable and very versatile. The fact that it works in a browser window and has an iPad app is fantastic! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is POEditor solving and how is that benefiting you?

We control language versions across our mobile and web app with four different languages supported. We can quickly assign translation work to employees in-house or outsource the task. Our developers can then publish the new language files and update our products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Very convenient."

4.5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

Simple, no noise, and easy to use. We're using it very often to build cross-translations to our website/app/etc, and so far we're satisfied with it. One simple thing, and you guys have managed to rock at it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

Would be nice to have some kind of automatic translation or "translation suggestion" feature, that wasn't Google Translator, because it's super inaccurate. Other than that, its good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"POEditor was so useful for my app translation from English into French."

5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

Translations for the most part were accurate. I also like that I can import/export documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

I wish you had Haiti creole available. I can help with that if interested. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Catalin Enache of POEditor

Thank you for your feedback, Odinès. We are glad POEditor works for you.

Regarding the Haitian Creole language, please note that we support this language. If you want it added to the project you're working on, you could contact the owner of the project and ask them to add it as a language to the project.

"Rollsoft using POeditor"

4.5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

The process of changing the software, announcing this change to the translators, and following up who changed the translation, is very convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

It is costly. Note they charge per language, including the main language (English). There is no convenient way to say "don't translate these entries". I don't want to translate our internal operators screen, but there is no easy way to mark it. Also, we didn't find an easy way to use it with our Wordpress WEB site. But it may be because we didn't check deep enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Anca Huzum of POEditor

edit

Thank you for your feedback, Shlomo.

For strings you don't want translated, you could copy the source text to the translation box, proofread these "translations" and then lock them: https://poeditor.com/kb/proofreading-translations

This way, contributors without proofreading rights will not be able to edit these strings.

For WordPress website localization, we have a plugin: https://poeditor.com/help/how_to_localize_with_the_poeditor_wordpress_module

This plugin connects to your WP instance and lets you send strings to POEditor and bring them back your site.

Hope this helps. :)

"Super well designed and user friendly software to manage your localization files"

5/5

What do you like best about POEditor?

POEditor is well designed and feels modern and fun to use. It is a breeze to set up localization projects and involve other team members in the project. Integration with GitHub is great for importing the base file, and integrations with Slack is great for keeping the team in the loop when there are new terms to translate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about POEditor?

The only feature I am missing, is the ability to batch-commit changes back to GitHub, when pushing translation files back to the source repo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
