What do you like best about Pimcore?

We really like the integrated PIM module, which helps us to create our digital experiences in a faster way. The possibility to also manage customer data (CDP module) is very practical for managing B2B and B2C customer profiles centrally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pimcore?

The asset portal extension of the DAM module is not compatible with mobile devices. We were expecting better mobile compatibility here. The user management is becoming more and more complex the more features we use. This could be made more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We would not directly interface the product with our ERP system SAP, but use a data warehouse as a middleware instead (for better performance). What problems is Pimcore solving and how is that benefiting you?

I think the usability is fantastic. It is very intuitive to use for our employees. We do not require training of our employees, after 2-3 days they understand everything. What do you like best about Pimcore?

We really like that the product connects all our product content with our marketing content. The versioning features and reporting features help us to keep a good overview of our business. What do you dislike about Pimcore?

We were facing issues with the filters in batch edit mode. The CSV export feature was not capable of exporting data from the so-called classification store. We like that it makes our software developers work faster but does not restrict them in any way. The system allows configuration of many settings and therefore incurs little coding effort. What do you like best about Pimcore?

Especially the digital asset management has become a lot easier for our company. We can upload the images to a central repository and the software automatically creates various output formats. Sometimes the software is complicated to use. When creating new content it can become confusing. Because it is so open and flexible and offers so many possibilities it requires a lot of planning, knowledge and preparation to create content and navigation structures in a good way. What do you like best about Pimcore?

In the digital asset management module the focal point feature helps a lot when publishing multiple image output formats from one single source. The graphical user interface for the data modeling helps non-technical people such as project managers and consultants to set up the system configuration without the need to code. "Great for many use cases - from PIM to eCommerce"

What do you like best about Pimcore?

The best thing about Pimcore is it's flexibility. We can start small - with simple (but custom) PIM solution - but after that we still have a lot of possibilities. We can grow our PIM with new features, we can transform it easily to MDM, include DAM or CRM capabilities. Using built-in CMS capabilities we can quickly use already existing product database to create a corporate website with eCatalog. From there we are just a small step from adding e-commerce capabilities. The best thing - developers love it. Its framework approach means that we don't have to overwrite anything - we can create new features the way we want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pimcore?

There are still some places in the codebase which are not yet optimized for extending Pimcore features with external bundles. Fortunately, Pimcore Core Team is working on this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Most of the projects we are facing are in some way custom - there is no standard company with the standard data model, standard e-commerce needs or standard product workflow. What do you like best about Pimcore?

We like that the event-driven software architecture allows us to implement custom requirements and re-use many existing components of the Symfony ecosystem. The data modeling feature works like a charm because it provides such great possibilities for scalable data models. The user interface for accessing and editing data is very intuitive. The product user interface seems quite technical and could confuse non-technical customers. The developer community is still quite small (for example compared to Drupal). We like the product very much because it is so flexible and we can implement nearly every requirement with it. The start was not so easy as the community was quite small. Sometimes we were still facing smaller bugs which had not been fixed yet. When facing problems it is great that you can look up a lot of information in the Symfony documentation, because Pimcore is based on the Symfony PHP framework. What do you like best about Pimcore?

We really love the button "Show In Tree" as it allows us to quickly view the location of a document, asset or data object in the system. The fast switching between the tabs of different content makes working with the system a comfortable experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Pimcore?

We would really appreciate better search functionality for documents. For example if we want to find a specific keyword on every webpage and want a list of all pages were this keyword is included. Recommendations to others considering Pimcore:

I would more clearly define the responsibilities of the solution implementation project. We had some misunderstandings with our implementation partner, which was a digital agency. For example it was not clear what is the responsibility of the project manager on their side and on our side. The role and user access to the system should also be done more slow, when everything is already working to avoid messing up some stuff that is only partly done yet.
