From my experience I will say that the most common objectives for the PIM solutions are:
- Risk reduction due to incorrect or incoherent data in all publishing channels.
- Control and monitoring for the process including cost and Time reduction during product data enrichment.
Coherent data needs complete model and Pimcore we can do that using a class definition - a graphical user interface (GUI). It helps to define objects for products, categories, manufacturers, vendors as a structured data. Then objects can be connected each other. Furthermore, that there is no need to have programming skills, so it can be done by the employees of the company.
For controlling the whole process it has to be implemented in the system, so everyone involved should work in the same place. Because most of the processes based on the flow, there is an option to map them on list of states and actions in Pimcore workflow. It can be applied for any of the defined objects like product, company, etc. and also for the images, documents (eg. certificate).
