"Studio-Like Online Tool with Handy Find-and-Replace and Clear Term Matches"
5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

I think it’s great because it propagates 100% matches, just like Studio does. The find-and-replace function is handy and easy to use, and the terms previously added to the TB are easy to spot when I use them. Overall, it’s similar to Studio, except this one is an online tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

My only dislike is that it’s an online tool, so if I have any issues with my internet connection, I can’t use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Streamlined Translation Workflow with Powerful QA and TM Tools"
5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

What I appreciate most about Phrase is its intuitive interface and streamlined translation workflow. The platform makes it easy to manage translation and review tasks, navigate between segments, and maintain consistency throughout a project. The integration of translation memories, terminology resources, and QA features is particularly helpful for improving efficiency and maintaining translation quality. Its browser-based environment is also convenient, allowing linguists to work without extensive local setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

While Phrase is generally efficient and user-friendly, some aspects of the browser-based editor could be improved. Working with larger files can occasionally feel less responsive, and certain advanced editing, filtering, and QA functions are not quite as flexible as those available in established desktop CAT tools. More customization options and streamlined navigation for complex review tasks would make the overall experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Interface, Save Precious Time"
5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

I really like that Phrase has a translation memory that appears directly while I'm typing. I also appreciate the TermBase and the section on the right with the globe symbol, which allows me to see how segments have been translated into other languages. I like the simplicity and intuitiveness of Phrase, as I felt comfortable right away even without experience with other CAT tools. It is very useful because it avoids having to invest mental energy to decipher a complicated interface; on the contrary, Phrase has a very simple design. It solves the problem of having to repeat translations of segments already translated, storing and replicating them automatically, helping me not to waste time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

Sometimes in the quality assurance process (Q-A quality), it seems necessary to repeat the same "run" step multiple times. When the "complete job" window appears, I am often asked to "rerun," and this happens 4 or 5 times in a row. The problem seems to be that, while correcting during the process, some segments with errors remain and are listed again, but it is difficult to identify them in a long list. It would be useful to improve Phrase by placing these segments to be reviewed in a separate window, similar to "run QA" or "complete task," to highlight them immediately without having to repeat various steps and scroll through the list continuously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beth Anderson of Phrase

Thank you for this detailed review! We're glad the translation memory, TermBase, and cross-language segment view are saving you time and keeping things intuitive. Your suggestion about surfacing QA errors in a separate window instead of repeating 'rerun' steps is a great one, I'll pass it along to our product team as we are always looking for ways we can improve our user experience.

"Phrase Review: Improving Translation Quality, Consistency, and Productivity"
5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

What I like most about Phrase is how it combines an intuitive UI/UX with powerful translation management features, making it easier to deliver accurate, consistent, and high-quality translations from English into Italian. The interface is well organized, and the workflow is efficient once you become familiar with the platform. Its integrations with other tools help streamline localization processes, while translation memories and terminology management reduce repetitive work and improve linguistic consistency. Performance is generally smooth, even when handling complex translation projects.

From a pricing and ROI perspective, Phrase can help reduce turnaround times, avoid duplicated effort, and improve overall productivity. Its AI-powered features also offer valuable support by automating repetitive tasks and assisting with translation workflows, while still allowing professional translators to maintain control over quality and context. Finally, clear documentation and effective onboarding are important advantages for getting the most out of the platform. Overall, Phrase is a valuable solution for professional translators and localization teams looking to improve efficiency without compromising translation quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

Although Phrase is a powerful translation management platform, there are a few areas that could be improved. From a UI/UX perspective, some features and settings are not immediately intuitive, and navigating more complex workflows can take time, especially for new users. Regarding integrations, connecting Phrase with certain third-party tools or configuring advanced workflows may require additional technical knowledge. Performance is generally good, but occasional delays can affect productivity when working on large projects or complex translation tasks. In terms of pricing and ROI, the cost may be a concern for freelancers and smaller teams, particularly when advanced features or additional integrations require higher-tier plans. While the platform can deliver significant efficiency gains, the value depends on how extensively its features are used. Support and onboarding could also be more straightforward, with more practical guidance for users who need help setting up workflows or troubleshooting specific issues. Finally, although the AI-powered features are useful, their suggestions still require careful human review to ensure accuracy, natural Italian phrasing, and appropriate context. I would also appreciate greater transparency and flexibility in AI customization. Overall, these are opportunities for improvement rather than major drawbacks, and addressing them could make Phrase even more accessible and efficient for professional translators. "Centralized Translation Memory and Great Terminology Control"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

My favorite feature is how smoothly Phrase handles Translation Memory and termbases directly within the editor. Being able to see real-time suggestions and glossaries alongside in-context previews helps ensure strong brand consistency across languages. It saves a lot of time by preventing duplicate translations, and it makes the entire review cycle faster, smoother, and more reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

While Phrase is a powerful tool, the initial setup and configuration come with a noticeable learning curve. It can take a fair amount of time to get custom workflows and permissions configured correctly, especially for non-technical stakeholders. In addition, the automated QA checks can sometimes flag specialized formatting as issues, creating false positives that then require manual overrides. That said, once project templates are in place, the early setup hurdles become much easier to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to Start Translation Projects with Helpful, Customizable Features"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

I like that it is very easy to start translation projects and add all of the needed translation memories, term bases, etc. It's very easy to understand what to click and how to get the result you want. The pre-translation option is also very helpful. In general it has a lot of helpful features that can be easily modified. I like that it shows how far you are % wise in your translation work. I've never had any problems adding Word documents and it keeps all of the formatting so you don't have to change it later on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

What could be improved are the hyperlinks that are added automatically in pre-translations, because now they tend to split words in half and create minor inconveniences. Also other problem is that it's not possible to confirm an empty segment, but sometimes it is needed, and upon merging segments, they are still separated by elements, so it's difficult to keep the same formatting as the source text. The AI is helpful, but there are tools that i try to use instead of the main one that don't work. In terms of speed these are the things that add more to the time it takes to finish a project. "Fast, Easy-to-Use Interface with Seamless Client Integrations"
5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

Integrations with our client through Strings, it is easier to have the content reviewed here and it can go straight to the client's tool. Very easy interface. Great performance, it works very fast even when we have extensive content. Great so far, AI helps managing the strings and making the process easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

Right now Phrase has been working well for us, so I don't really have anything to dislike about the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beth Anderson of Phrase

"Robust MT/AI Translation Platform with Flexible Integrations"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

Strong combination of MT / AI language models, flexible integrations with lots of different tools (we use Figma and Google Docs most frequently), and the video caption/VO add-on is clutch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

It's a very complex system designed to accommodate lots of different translation workflows, which can be a bit overkill for simpler programs. But once you set up project templates and foundational references, it's easy to spin up new projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beth Anderson of Phrase

Thanks for leaving a review, it's great you find Phrase helpful to support your automated translation processes and video projects.

"Excellent Translation Quality with Powerful Automation and Translation Memory"
5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

I love the workflow automation options; it’s an excellent service for getting translations quickly. The translation quality is excellent, and it helped translate the application into different languages. It also offers great flexibility and a robust set of tools. What I like most is its excellent translation memory capability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

The learning curve for more advanced customizations feels steep, and the workflows can come across as fairly complex. At times, the session seems to close unexpectedly and very quickly, and performance can slow down noticeably when working with large files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beth Anderson of Phrase

Thanks for leaving a review! So glad you believe Phrase has excellent translation memory capabilities and that the quality is helping you to translate into different languages and maintain full control over everything. We understand that the Phrase platform has many areas to learn and develop which can be overwhelming at first but remember if you are ever stuck our support team is on hand.

"Fast, Glossary-Compliant Translations with Seamless Content Sync"
5/5
What do you like best about Phrase?

I love how quickly we can translate with these incredible tools. The platform lets content sync directly and provides a clear list of translation options to choose from. It also speeds up the workflow with automatic translation while still ensuring glossary compliance. On top of that, I really appreciate the filtering options when I’m searching, since they make it much easier to find what I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Phrase?

It would be helpful to have greater visibility into the context. The tool also sometimes slows down when processing large volumes. There are a few areas for improvement—for example, I’d love to be notified when new strings are added. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Beth Anderson of Phrase

Thanks for leaving a review and sharing that you love how quickly you can translate with Phrase. We're glad Phrase helps you to reduce the need for constant back-and-forth communication between teams and helps address the challenge of managing translations, letting you translate quickly with the touch of a button.
