"n8n is incredible. I wish I had more programming experience."
What do you like best about n8n?

My Disclaimer up front - I am not an IT professional this is not something I do for work, I am purely a hobbyist trying to have some fun and hopefully make my life a bit easier.

What do I like most about n8n? Honestly it's what the product is itself. It's a workflow tool. I've not even delved into the deep end yet and I've already been able to setup an assistant that I can message in discord, it sends it over to an AI (can be local or cloud hosted), It'll run the tools I've provided it, and provide me feedback in a very easily readable format. (Heck you can even toss a TTS on there to include in the output for when you're not actively reading.)

I feel like for anyone who actually knows what they're doing this can be an extremely powerful tool - especially if you have work flow diagrams that already exist. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

The downside? I would say that in order to get the most out of n8n you need some level of programming experience. It doesn't have to be much, but when you're trying to build more complex workflows, trying to split out tasks or fields it helps to know a bit of JSON and personally I don't. Am I getting through it? Yes, but it's taking a bit more extra effort on my behalf, I think for some other's they'd have this down no issue.

Also I think it'd be neat if there was a way to build in say a container and a python running inside the system that way I don't have to build one outside myself and toss a post at it to interact. For one of my projects I essentially had to build an outside listener that could pass information because I didn't see one available built in. Perhaps an active listener already exists, but if it does I didn't see and if I did I probably still wouldn't know how to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AI Powered No code automation tool!"
What do you like best about n8n?

We really like how flexible this tool is, it can handle any type of API integration. There are a lot of native integration with the tools present in the system. Flexibility to use webhooks , python & custom functions makes it a dream come true. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

The tools comes with a steep learning curve, if you are adept to using tools like make or Zapier. There is a 1% chance that you will run an error in a production workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Build Smarter Workflows: My Experience with n8n Automation"
What do you like best about n8n?

Open source & self hostable – Full control and cost savings.

Supports complex logic – Built-in IF conditions, loops, and JavaScript function nodes.

Wide integration support – Connects with APIs, databases, CRMs, and cloud tools.

Visual flow builder – Intuitive drag-and-drop interface for creating workflows.

Active community – Regular updates and strong developer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

UI can get cluttered with large workflows – hard to manage without grouping or collapse options.

Debugging complex flows is tricky – Needs better logging or node-level run insights.

Execution performance on large data sets can be slow in some cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A great way to automate everyday repetitive tasks"
What do you like best about n8n?

Flexibility to connect to multiple tools and places where information lives in our tech stack. We can then use this to pull information into centralised places for teams to use. We can also get the ai agents to do manual tasks that previously the team have had to to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

This tool can be quite technical for non-technical stakeholders, and depending on how your tech stack is configured, you may need some engineering resources to get it set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Self-Hosting Empowerment with Room for Interface Improvement"
What do you like best about n8n?

I found n8n to be excellent for automation, as it has become my top choice over others like Zapier and Make, mainly due to its self-hosting capability, allowing me to run thousands of automations efficiently each week. Setting it up was really straightforward, especially with a few tutorials to master the interface. The platform excels in building AI agents compared to others, as it makes the process incredibly intuitive and straightforward. I also appreciate its direct API connectivity, which was challenging with other platforms. These features make n8n incredibly valuable for connecting diverse systems and creating a fluid workflow. I’m a fan of the system and would willingly pay for it if the pricing plans were more accessible. Huge community and growing exponentially. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

I find the payment plans for n8n to be quite strange and costly, particularly for startups, with prices reaching over $6,000+ a year as a first step. I believe this is a heavy payment burden. Another issue is the user interface and labeling, which could be improved to be more friendly and visually appealing, similar to platforms like GumLoop. Additionally, some features, such as global variables, are hidden or not easily accessible. Those cloud solutions is not for me, as I need private installation but also full-scale features. "Hard to use, Limited features, AI Assistant is useless, Feedback hard to give"
What do you like best about n8n?

I ama beginner. Seems powerful. It does work well when it does. It has some helpful features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

It is not as easy to use as Make. It is harder to add content from other nodes. It is too reliant on JSON and other code when it is not necessary.

The Nodes have limited features. It does have a nice feature to give feedback at the node level To request features, which I recommend throughout the system.

The AI assistant is always useless, it seems to not even know what the current interface is like, so it's giving me all these instructions that don't line up with the interface with the titles and the boxes, which is my greatest difficulty, Even though I would think it would have access to the very nodes that I have on my screen and know what version I'm using, but it doesn't.

I came to this particular site to give feedback, and it was hard to get to. I had to go into my trash and find an old email from you that asks for feedback . There seems to be no way to access this site through the menus on this user interface. Then I met with rather discouraging words, that you have to have some sort of standard before what I say is published. I don't care about publishing it. Throw it in trash for all I care. I just want to give feedback let you know what I want what I'm doing and let the artificial intelligence that you have figure out what needs to be done with what I say. I don't want to have to go through all these old-fashioned feedback setups. n8n is about automation, so get your feedback more automated. The impression I get is that you don't even want feedback, which makes me not want to continue with this product because I feel like you're not going to succeed because you're not going to have the feedback, and Boy, do you need feedback!!!! "A powerful and ever-evolving automation tool with great AI integration"
What do you like best about n8n?

I’ve been using n8n for over 2 years, mainly for testing and development purposes. What stands out now is the impressive integration with AI tools like LangChain. It’s constantly improving, and the community is very active and helpful. It gives me flexibility and control that few no-code platforms offer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

While n8n is powerful, debugging complex workflows can still be challenging at times. Some error-handling features could be more intuitive, especially for larger, nested flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful workflow automation platform for developers and non-tech users"
What do you like best about n8n?

What I love most about n8n is its visual workflow builder combined with the flexibility of JavaScript for advanced logic. It’s incredibly easy to connect APIs, build multi-step automations, and manage data flows across platforms. The open-source model gives full control over hosting and privacy, which is a huge advantage. It saves our team hours every week by automating repetitive tasks like syncing CRM data, processing webhooks, and sending notifications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

While n8n is powerful, the UI can become overwhelming in complex workflows with many nodes. Sometimes debugging workflows requires manual effort because of limited error detail in certain nodes. Also, managing credentials for multiple environments could be more streamlined. However, the community is active, and most limitations have workarounds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great product, but wish self-hosting for business was more affordable"
What do you like best about n8n?

The usability and ease of learning are excellent. The range of things the application can achieve is impressive. It was easy to implement and delivered quick results. Our business analysts picked it up rapidly and were able to create automations that would have been impossible without an iPaaS like n8n. The frequency of updates has been a major highlight, with development moving quickly and consistently improving the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about n8n?

The lack of a dedicated customer support channel unless you are on a higher-tier plan is frustrating. Even a low-priority support desk would make a big difference, as relying on forums can be unreliable when issues arise. Another drawback was discovering that there are no reasonably priced self-hosted plans for small to mid-sized businesses. This forced us to use the cloud-hosted version, which was significantly more expensive and less practical for our needs. A more affordable self-hosting option with reduced capacity limits would have been a much better fit. Additionally, requiring external API exposure instead of allowing local integrations adds unnecessary complexity and risk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
