## Mersive Solstice Reviews
  ### 1. Awful technology (or at least how we have implemented)

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike K. | Director of Marketing Strategy, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

It is impossible to stay connected from a laptop to the screen. It crashes every 5 minutes and there is no ability to share as a second monitor.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

Buggy and crashes constantly. It is no longer dependable in any of our conference rooms.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We got it to screen share and connect to video conference rooms.

  ### 2. mersive solstice review

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Faculty Trainer/Consultant of Learning Technologies, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

Mersive Solstice is an enterprise-level solution for wireless access and screen mirroring which is capable of large-scale deployment. In that sense, it does it's job.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

The workflow to install the required software, as well as the hardware requirements for the platform, are prohibitive to wide-scale use outside of a really regimented deployment. If your institution all uses the same hardware and is able to deploy all the software and drivers ahead of time then it may not be an issue, but if there is variability in what the users will have as far as hardware specs then Solstice can be quite unpredictable.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the time of installation, all of the main players for screencasting did not have a scalable enterprise-level solution. As such there is room for a product like Mersive Solstice.

  ### 3. Inconsistent and resource intensive

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katherine C. | Digital Learning Supervisor, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

Customizable back end, nice looking app with a mobile app version. Simple interface without too many options on the front end. Connecting is quick and easy. The moderator mode is robust, but glitchy.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

Mersive conference doesn't work, the way it virtualizes the call makes it impossible except on very high end devices. Constant crashes, mouse stops working, disconnections, camera stops working, etc. Warnings about system usage because of extremely high CPU usage even on a fairly robust computer. App on PC can be glitchy, names being wrong, crashing, freezing, etc.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Wireless screen sharing for students is nice, not having to have students come up to the front of the room to share. Having multiple people connected to a device at one time to share content.

  ### 4. Constant issues

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David J. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

Nothing, it was a constant headache everyday troubleshooting issues. The devices have to be rebooted all the time and then you have to pray that it works.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

Everything, constantly drops connections and crashes. We had 15 conference rooms set up with the mersive solstice pods and users complained every day. We ended up switching to ClickShare devices and have not had one complaint since then.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, I dont recommend this product at all.

  ### 5. This software is fantastic and easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

We can easily share computer screens or phones to the conference room TV.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

Sometimes users struggle to connect to the system.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Conference room meetings.

  ### 6. Display any device wirelessly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** TooTall513 M. | A/V Technology Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

Solstice has an Enterprise Edition utilizing a dashboard interface that allows you to remotely manage, monitor and configure multiple Solstice Pods. Each Pods welcome screen can be fully branded. The dashboard is run from a PC or dedicated server. They have excellent CS. We had a video buffering issue and they flew down to our site to troubleshoot.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

You must buy solstice from an authorized vendor and cannot buy directly. Sometimes when sharing a video playback buffered or is sluggish or laggy, other times the audio is out of sync with the vide. Price per Pod is very expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Mersive Solstice:**

Make sure that the vendor buying your Pods purchases the correct Pods. We ordered Enterprise Pods and received consumer version. Sometimes the dashboard shows Pods offline when they actually are online.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solstice enables users to connect any smart device to a display without connecting a traditional video cable. Solstice eliminates the need for adaptors and allows users to use any device that is connected to the same network that the Solstice is connected. The solstice can use an internal WAP so you don't need to connect the Solstice to a network.

  ### 7. Mediocre Product

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah V. | Graduate Learning Assistant, Research, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

We use Solstice pods at work to project onto two large screens. They are easy to connect to once you download it. All you have to do is open the app and type in the 4 digit code. Also, I like that when you are sharing your screen that the disconnect button is very compact. It does not take up much of the screen... so it does not interfere with other content that you have up.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

I do not like that you don't have the option to pause your screen. When I am giving a lecture, I sometimes need to hide the screen from students (if I need to check a grade or want to do work while they try a problem on their own). The only option that comes up is to stop sharing screen.

**Recommendations to others considering Mersive Solstice:**

I would recommend downloading the app to make connecting to the display easier. If you don't download the app, you have to enter the IP address into your internet browser each time. If you have the app, you just open it and enter in the 4 digit pin to connect. The first time is not at easy because you have to enter in the IP address. Also, I would recommend having all your content ready because once you connect, you cannot just quickly hide your screen, you have to disconnect completely.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits are that students can see the lectures on the large projection screens.

  ### 8. Easy and Reliable

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Relations and Communications | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

I love how easy it is to use. It's so intuitive. And unlike other screen sharing services my company has used, Solstice has never let me down. It never stops sharing in the middle of the meetings, there is no lag, and the picture is always clear.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

I don't like that I can't pause my screen in meetings. Sometimes I need to check my email which is something not everyone needs to see. It sounds simple, but having the ability to do that would be a game changer.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this service whenever I am presenting to my clients or in an internal meeting with coworkers to ensure we viewing the same material. It comes in handy when brainstorming and reviewing documents as a team.

  ### 9. Power Interface, but with glaring longevity issues

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

The software is user friendly, secure, and powerful. Individuals can easily figure out how to connect from their device of choice. Content streams pretty seamlessly, even when sharing multiple items. No dongle is required, meaning there is nothing that can walk off.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

The system requires a hard-wired network connection. You cannot use the system in wifi only spaces. Even though you are purchasing the device, it requires regular updates. Once the warranty expires, Mersive requires that you pay to renew the warranty in order to get the newest updates and support newer devices.

The other major downside is the lag between audio and video content. It can be very distracting and downright jarring, especially when watching video of people talking. Other wireless solutions do a better job of syncing up the audio and video content.

**Recommendations to others considering Mersive Solstice:**

Make sure you are taking into account the long term costs. Once you've purchased the product, you're handcuffed to purchasing regular updates in order to continue using the device.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration, Presentation, Events.

This software is used in both academic and event spaces. In classrooms, students and professors can share content in an easily accessible manner. In event spaces, our presenters can use the system to present to attendees, or collaborate for interactive meetings. Our clients love the flexibility, and we love that we can control the system from anywhere in the room.

  ### 10. well integrated with the meeting rooms

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

no cables required.
simply works on wifi.
simplicity of use.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

can't pause the screen sharing like how WebEx or Zoom does
can't extend the screen - it always duplicates it
additional software required

**Recommendations to others considering Mersive Solstice:**

you require admin rights to your machine in order to use this as it requires to install a software on your machine

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

easy collaboration
screen sharing
no additional hardware to carry or no ports requirement

  ### 11. Mersive Simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keldon L. | Mechanical Engineering Intern, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

I like the ability to share documents or the processes we use within the company to one another or to present projects/proposals when we have clients or peers in the meeting.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

My main issue would be that it lags at times when I try to disconnect or it runs slower as I’m switching to a different users computer. But that’s about my only complaint.

**Recommendations to others considering Mersive Solstice:**

Make sure the previous person is logged off before trying to share your screen or document windows, it can cause slight issues with switching

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Consolidating information and presenting projects/meetings

  ### 12. Easy sharing from all devices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

Solstice allows us to quickly and easily share content and screens in conference rooms. Any device from a PC or Mac to a mobile phone can easily mirror their display using Solstice.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

The mobile iOS software is somewhat cumbersome to use. You first have to launch the app, connect to the solstice system from within the app, and then you must leave the app to initiate sharing from within native iOS.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a way for anyone to share content and screen from any type of device.

  ### 13. A great tool for remote colaborations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

It works on all popular platforms, its very straightforward and can screen share very easily.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

It can be a bit slow, and the software was set up at my employer in a way that I could see previous users of a conference monitor.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote collaborations with easy screen sharing.

  ### 14. Great to split up workspaces into smaller groups

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Mersive Solstice?**

It's so easy to use and it makes any room with a screen a conference room. Every action is seen on the monitor that is being used so it is great for learning about processes online.

**What do you dislike about Mersive Solstice?**

Sometimes it is a little delayed. The connection codes are stingy, too.

**What problems is Mersive Solstice solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used it so people could chime in on what was being done on the screen and to teach people computer processes.

  ### 15. OK. Pricey for what's out there

Annotation has proved beneficial
