## About MemberSuite
GrowthZone's MemberSuite AMS is an association management software (AMS) solution that helps organizations manage complex membership structures, automate administrative workflows, and centralize data for strategic decision-making. Designed specifically for associations with sophisticated governance models, multi-tiered memberships, and diverse revenue streams, it serves as a central operational hub for executive directors, membership professionals, event managers, and finance teams. The platform functions by integrating various operational modules—from fundraising and events to certification and billing—into a single, unified system that facilitates data flow and operational efficiency. Organizations utilizing MemberSuite AMS typically require high levels of configurability to adapt the software to their specific business rules rather than adjusting their processes to fit rigid tools. It addresses the needs of trade associations, professional societies, and non-profits that struggle with disconnected systems or data silos. By providing a 360-degree view of member interactions, the software enables staff to track engagement, process renewals, and manage financial transactions within one interface. The platform's architecture supports deep customization, allowing users to tailor modules for chapters, sections, and committees while maintaining a centralized database. Key functionalities include: Configurable Workflow Automation: The system allows administrators to build and deploy automated workflows that match their organization's unique structure, streamlining tasks such as certification approvals, renewal reminders, and committee management without manual intervention. Business Intelligence and Analytics: Users can access a native data warehouse and advanced reporting tools to visualize trends and generate real-time insights, supporting data-driven leadership and strategic planning for board-level reporting. Comprehensive Financial Management: The platform manages complex financial processes including dues, subscriptions, sponsorships, and deferred revenue, with capabilities to automate mass billing and export sub-ledger entries to accounting systems like QuickBooks and Intacct. Bi-Directional API Integration: MemberSuite AMS features an open API that pushes and pulls data between the AMS and third-party applications, ensuring that all critical tools communicate effectively and that the member record remains the single source of truth. Multi-Layered Membership Support: The software supports intricate organizational hierarchies, enabling the management of chapters, divisions, and varying membership tiers with centralized governance and distributed control mechanisms.

## MemberSuite Reviews
 ### 1. MemberSuite Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon S. | Director of Finance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

We have been using MemberSuite for five years. It has a lot of functionality that our previous AMS didn’t have – such as seamless importing general ledger entries into QuickBooks,
We have found MemberSuite very configurable to meet most of our unique needs. On occasion we have to modify our process to fit MemberSuite functionality, but that would be the case for any AMS. They have a comprehensive API that our web developers have been able to use for integration with forms on our website.
They do have a process for customizations, but they discourage it in favor of configurability. On occasion the customizations have stopped working on an update, but the problems were eventually fixed. They are occasionally also open to absorbing a useful customization into their core software, which allows for the functionality to be included in their integration testing more seamlessly.
One major pro is that you get the entire system (less customizations) for one price. There is no need to decide whether to separately purchase a module or go without it. If you use the system, you have access to all core functionalities.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

I would like to be able to import data to any table, including invoices, payments, etc. THere are a few things that can be imported, but there needs to be many more.
I am disappointed that I am limited to using specific merchant services. We have an alliance with a service that we had to stop using when we moved to MemberSuite.
Our users sometimes have difficulty accessing and interacting with their portal accounts.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Make sure you understand the capabilities and limitations

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of member experience, accurate financials, intuitive processes for our staff.

 ### 2. Generally - a very good AMS product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catherine R. | CFO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

back end accounting is very sound; deferrals are possible and reporting is easy to run and understand; customer support has been invaluable; it has many modules that an organization could fully utilize; customizations are possible and are sound

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

it's very "rigid", you can't enter credits without them being an overpayment; the deferrals and AR modules are not very adaptable to "real" life; cancelling invoices is always a crapshoot if it's done correctly

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

integrating outside transactions via API

 ### 4. Membersuite usage in association management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Holly N. | Project coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2022

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I like the multiple tabs and abilities for searching specific transactions.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Not intuitive - I'm used to hitting enter after typing in a search and on this platform I have to select "search" instead

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping track memberships and event registrations

 ### 5. Management

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2021

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

It's not user friendly or intuitive. It is highly customizable but since nothing works consistently that really doesn't much matter. The API is difficult to program and my staff hates it. We have invested tens of thousands of dollars into the program and thousands of staff hours try to learn, customize, and specialize the software to our needs. To no avail. Save yourself, stay as far away from this program as possible.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Extremely glitchy. Primary functions like event registration and the customer portal are constantly broken. Representations about the availability of features are flagrantly deceptive. Extremely problematic investment for our company.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a fully integrated database that could manage all aspects of our operation. We've had to return to using the same fragmented tools we were using before because MS's systems don't work as advertised.

 ### 6. The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2021

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

It looks clean and useful. It is user-friendly once it is set up. The advanced search is a great function.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

1. It is a SQL-based program that tries to work like a business objects system, which is a technical way of saying it is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. It leads to a lot of issues.

2. They claim EVERYTHING is a customization so they can charge you a lot of money to do it.

3. It breaks all the time. They will "fix" something and in the process everything else will break. They don't seem to want to do testing on things before putting it into production.

4. Customer Service is the worst. You think comcast has bad customer service, you haven't experienced MemberSuite customer service yet. Their customer service support team acts like gate keepers to prevent the rest of the team from fixing things.
We give them examples, specifics, and pictures and VIDEOS of issues happening, and they will respond that it isn't happening. I went a month going back and forth with them on an issue they insisted wasn't happening only for them to realize it is happening to all of their clients. It was a system wide bug. They didn't even follow up with me to tell me. They posted it on their site and acted like THEY found the issue and fixed it for us all--when we all know it was the clients that found it months ago and fought them to be listened to. This is literally how they respond to every single issue. Something tiny that takes them minutes to fix will take a month because they will fight you on it. They also will close tickets on their own the day you put in the ticket. To get anything accomplish at all--no matter how tiny--we have to put in a ticket, immediately follow up with a email to our rep and then contact a VP we know to push the team to actually do the work.

5. They are always looking for the next big thing or the next innovation. They want the flashy new toys. They do all this at the expense of their current base product. They want to acquire different pointless technologies they think look cool, but their main thing--the membership database--does not work.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it is a membership database

 ### 7. Great program for a variety of tasks

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The membership functions - dues billing and tracking, joining, members on the roster....just the overall membership functions

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Customizing reports can be a bit complicated for non-tech people

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

keeping membership listings up to date, billing and tracking dues. By being able to do this the benefits have been in making sure our members are up-to-date with payments

 ### 8. Highly Customizable

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Cosmetics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2020

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Membersuite is a robust, cloud-based system that allows associations to customize everything from reports to events to membership categories. If your association has a lot of specific idiosyncrasies this is the database system to choose. Additionally, they have several in-person training sessions which our staff has found very helpful over the years.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Because the system has so many customizations, there is a bit of a learning curve with the system.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a system that would allow our members to register for events as well as maintain a database for our staff. MemberSuite allows this for us.

 ### 9. Review of Finance and Fundraising in MemberSuite

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle N. | Director of Finance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2018

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I am told the API is very useful. From a finance perspective, I had our IT team build something that allows me to build a query in MemberSuite, save it, and then I have a link that I can use to download updated data on-demand.
I like the flexibility of building custom queries. The functionality is confusing for some, but once you learn it, it is powerful.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Nearly every aspect of the financial and fundraising modules is flawed. It is a rare month I am able to close the period without having an issue. Customer support is of very little use. We have support tickets dating back months and years with unresolved issues.

Here are just a few examples:
- We have long since given up on trying to get our inventory to calculate correctly in MemberSuite after years of support tickets going back and forth. We do it all by hand now.
- We were told before we initially purchased the product that it would support multiple merchant accounts (i.e. one for our association and one for our foundation). We went more than 3 years without being able to process a single transaction in the foundation account. Finally, after that time we are now able to process some transactions, but recurring monthly pledge payments only work for as long as no changes are made to the credit card. If the card is canceled or expires, it cannot be updated, and we move the payment over to be processed directly in the merchant account and entered manually into MemberSuite later.
- Record keeping in the fundraising module is not comprehensive. If a gift is entered and later needs to be adjusted (e.g. a check bounced or ACH was returned), the easiest way to make that adjustment is to unpost a previous period, unpost the batch, void the gift, repost the batch, repost the period, redownload the batch, and reupload the batch into the financial system.
- Cancellations and refunds do not work particularly well. There has been an ongoing issue where if a conference registration is canceled and there are add-on sessions attached, the deferred revenue calculation effectively cancels it twice, and you wind up with negative revenue rather than zero.
- Not specific to finance, but a global issue is with membership flowdown. Our memberships are primarily organization-based, with individuals receiving member benefits by virtue of being associated with an organization. Membership benefits should flow down from the organization to individuals, but there are times when this flowdown can take minutes, hours, weeks, or months. This has implications for finance when someone who should have received member benefits registers for something at the non-member rate, and we later have to make adjustments to grant them the member rate. This ties back to the issues with cancellations and refunds.

Customer support is not particularly helpful with any of these issues. If one of us encounters an issue that is not cut-and-dry, we have taken to tackling it as a team. We have one person watch over the shoulder of the other so that when something goes wrong there is another witness to what actions were taken to lead to the issue. In other cases where there is an issue that we find, we often have to leave it "broken" because if a support ticket is submitted after we have already taken action to rectify the issue, the response is that it is no longer broken and does not require MemberSuite's attention. There are many issues that we cannot appropriately submit for MemberSuite's review because if it directly impacts a member we will not leave it "broken," and thus MemberSuite will not investigate further.

For all of these issues, we have developed complex workarounds that slow down our day-to-day business. There are certainly many other issues I am forgetting because these workarounds have become second nature, when ideally the system we own should be performing many of those tasks for us.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Do your own comparison shopping by speaking to some current users with knowledge of the finance and fundraising modules. Make sure the finance and development staff have in-depth conversations about specific functionality that would impact your organization.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For the finance team, MemberSuite creates more issues than it solves. The system was designed with an ideal world in mind. When faced with reality, however, its processes break down quickly.

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Customer Service and Responsiveness to Requests

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

We had some very complicated data to download and untrained staff. But, MemberSuite came to the rescue.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

If you are looking for a platform to manage your member information and communication, consider MemberSuite

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our seminar registration process was streamlined.

 ### 11. Great System That Does it All

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julia T D. | Sr. Vice President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

There are many things to like about Membersuite. The reporting function is excellent, and lets us pull all the data we need for making decisions about program development, marketing and member services. The customer portal gives our members and customers easy access to their accounts, and the ability to configure the system to our specific requirements is almost like having a customized system. It is the most comprehensive system our association has eveer used in my 30+ years of managment here.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

There is a steep learning curve in the beginning, but fortunately, there is good support from the Membersuite Team. For organizations who do not have a robust IT department, Membersuite offers an affordable Administrative Services option after implementation to make sure that the organization continues to have dedicated support to assure a successful transition to Membersuite. Sometimes the system is less intuitive than it could be, but Membersuite is continuously improving their product. One area, which would be my top priority for further development is the finance module. This module tracks transactions but is not a full-blown financial system. It requires integration with Quickbooks or some other program for complete financials. While this works, it would be ideal to have a complete financial package included. Using custom reports, even without the integration with another package, it is possible to pull any financial data that may be required.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Membersuite is an excellent system, and it is very useful for our organization. Our chief recommendations would be:

1. Be very clear on what you need to transfer when you move data to the new system.
2. Understand that in Membersuite there may not be a 1:1 correlation with your legacy data and Membersuite so there may be areas you will need to address after the transfer.
3. Make sure you have a solid understanding of the financial module and how it operates. It tracks all transactions, and it requires the use of Quickbooks or another platform to manage payables and full financials.
4. Do not go live until you have tested the system thoroughly to make sure you have things set up as they should be.
5. Designate one (at most 2) staff to be super-users and restrict usage by others only to those areas pertaining to their specific job roles, at least until they can be fully trained.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The list is too long to include everything, but here are the top 10:

1. The need to have dual entry into the AMS and the finance module (Quickbooks)
2. The ability to easily set up discount codes to manage variable pricing for different categories of customers.
3. The ability to manage exhibitors within the AMS system.
4. The ability to coordinate awards and competitions within the system.
5. Elimination of the need for manual entry of all customer purchases and registrations for event.
6. CEU and certificate management
7. The ability of members to update their own information and maintain a more up to date customer database, and automatic emails to confirm renewals, etc..
8. Event setup is integrated with the customer database for ease of tracking registration and automatic registration confirmation, as well as management of tiered pricing and hotel registrations.
9. Elimination of the need to maintain multiple spreadsheets in order to track data.
10. Significant time savings on almost every aspect of managing the day to day work of the organization.
10+1. Time savings for staff in every area of our operation.

 ### 12. MemberSuite: customizable, user friendly, and the best CRM/AMS I've used.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew L. | Database Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The reporting tools are the best I've ever used: it's incredibly easy to filter and tune reports towards exactly what you need for any given data set. Customizing your database's back end towards your needs is really easy and makes the system incredibly versatile. Users have reported a much better experience with membersuite than our old database, particularly in terms of online purchasing and event registration.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

The lack of a spreadsheet import can be a hindrance. Also, there's no way to copy merchandise or most other objects in the system, which would be really helpful when creating a lot of inventory.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

A much more user friendly database/crm than we had used before.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm the database administrator for a member-based non profit organization. We've been on membersuite for about a year and a half, coming off an AMS that seemed to break a little more with each patch. The difference in getting switched over was immediate and a huge improvement for our employees and our members/customers. We have a large number of business functions that we used to outsource to third party vendors because we lacked the ability to do them well in our old database, including event/exhibitor registration, abstract submissions, award nominations and judging, and email marketing campaigns. Since switching to membersuite, we've brought all of these back in house, since membersuite's tools and functions are easily as good if not better than the vendors we would use. We've also been able to automate a huge number of business functions that used to take hours of staff time daily/weekly. Overall, membersuite has streamlined many of our functions and processes, improving them greatly from where we came from, and allowing us to expand our thinking of what's possible through our CRM/AMS. I have no regrets about making the switch and I've gladly recommended membersuite to other database admins/IT professionals.

 ### 13. MemberSuite in a nutshell

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Monica O. | Program Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I like that the system is completely customizable, so whatever your business needs, they can alter the set up to make it happen.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

The system being completely customizable is a double-edge sword because there are so many options, it is easy to get confused and difficult to remember all the steps to set something up.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

I would just make sure you do your research. They have a lot of functionality with the software but it takes a lot of time to get things set up and configured. There are also so limitations in some of their modules that I would consider a mile wide and an inch deep.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We run our membership, awards, scholarships, events and abstracts through membership. THe benefits we have seen from this is that all our data is in one place. It is easier to market to a target audience and to have a better idea of how our members are interacting with us.

 ### 14. Michelle Mora's MemberSuite Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle M. | Member Services Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The support team is very responsive and is able to answer my questions in a very timely manner. The system is faster than when we first started four years ago. We also like working with our CSM, Julie. I'm impressed and excited about the upcoming enhancements to the system and feel that it will be more robust. It's nice to see how much the MemberSuite team is listening to our suggestions.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

The customization can be a bottleneck when we have certain needs that our members are requesting. Sometimes the system requires us to flush the cache in order for updates to be made and that requires us to contact the support team to make that request. The level of transparency in regards to how long new enhancements will take (i.e. the new portal) can be improved upon.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Confirm the migration data is accurate in order to promote a smooth migration; understand that customization will be required and there are additional costs affiliated with it

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to quickly register participants for events and provide them with a list of their earned continuing education credits with a few clicks of the mouse. Much faster than our old paper system. We are also able to create searches and receive data quickly. We are hoping to solve our custom billing run/process this year.

 ### 15. MemberSuite User Review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Enforcement | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The reason we went with MemberSuite is because we needed an AMS that was almost completely customizable and able to accommodate our uniquenesses as an association - MemberSuite is built for that. The reporting tool is robust and the scaleability will be good for us in the future. It is a great product with extraordinary potential. The API was easy to use and continues to make working with 3rd parties easy. We have MANY uniquenesses as an associaitonWe are glad we switched from our current AMS to MemberSuite.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

As with bringing on board any new product, there is a definite learning curve but we are working hand-in-hand with MemberSuite to

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MemberSuite is our primary and only database. We have enjoyed the financial reporting and ease of inputting membership. I do believe it has allowed us to think more effectively as an association and will be an acceptable tool once finalized.

 ### 16. MemberSuite

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tammy P. | Director of Customer Service, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Easy to process data reports, invoicing is so easy, account changes are simple and I love that we can customize our screens and reports on the dashboard.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

A lot of touch points to keep the data up to date, i.e., even though we select member roles, we still have to update the number of members to bill for. This seems redundant and adds more work

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

This software will assist you in restructuring your business flow in a way that makes sense today!
It is an investment in your future and your growth and your data management, event management and so much more.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staff time, efficiency, easier invoicing, customers have control of their accounts.

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

all info across departments at fingertips. very helpful when verifying membership. there has been some resistance from older employees but we have been live for a little over a year and they are finally starting to come around.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

i dislike the amount of clicks most things take to get where to need to go. I wish there was 1 set way to go about doing things sometimes. That would make it easier to set procedures for everyone to follow. I also which it was easier to create custom billing. For my specific needs we have classes and some are billed per person and some are billed on the whole but I still need to be able to record attendance records.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

be Patient and take the time needed to learn the system. Its a large system and there is alot to learn but it will be worth it

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the benefits we have noticed have been the information that everyone is able to access very quickley

 ### 18. MemberSuite AMS Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The versatility and robustness of this AMS is a huge benefit. Many different types of modules reside in a central repository for you to access allowing you limit the number of tools needed for your business (and pull in fields from across different areas into the same search/report).

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Due to the system's robustness and customizability, it is time consuming to learn how to use to sytem admins (especially for those with little previous AMS/CRM experience). Lots of trainging and learning was required to navaigate the system (not very intuitive).

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

View many different demos before choosing the best system for your organization/association. There isn't a "one size fits all" solution for everyone, so identify your needs and prioritize what's most important to your specific needs. In our case, MemberSuite was the AMS solution that worked best for us.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use the CRM, membership, events, committees, and career center modules the most. This allows us to store our member contact information in the same location that they renew their membership and register for our events (as well as upload their resumes and search our corporate partner's job postings). As a small non-profit with a limited staff, this is a huge resource for us. We are excited that MemberSuite will be able to grow with us as we expand and wish to utilize more features.

 ### 19. MemberSuite Provides Very Customizable Product, Right out of the Box

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I really like the ability to build reports around membership. In our last AMS system, there was literally only one member report export we were allowed to use based on how valuable the data contained therein was. I can use MemberSuite to build custom reports, deliver those to members or volunteer leaders on an automatic basis and with the output columns that I choose. Truly helpful stuff. Wish I could even think of a world without it.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Occasionally have found some weird integration issues either with CSS from our site having unintended consequences on column display for the user, or slight SSO issues with Higher Logic. However Support at MemberSuite is very helpful to address and fix what is probably something that is our issue or comes from our code or portal side fixes. I would also say that there are potentially *too* many things in Membersuite, which is both a blessing and curse. We came from such a simple system that having all the bells and whistles that Membersuite allows for, and staff can get lost in which pathways to take, which buttons to press, and where they need to connect the dots to make a module function like Awards/Competitions judging. However, these additional features can also be great, because the product can serve many styles and types of organizations with all of these options available right out of the box.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MemberSuite solved many business problems we had with our old AMS. It lives separately from our website, which our old AMS did not. It provides many more reports and additional options to customize than our past system. It contains items like awards and proposals collections and judging which we formally used a different system for. It also integrates with our email client which our old system did not, making communications easier for me and my team.

 ### 20. Onward and upward

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erin B. | Member Support Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I like the product, I am a visual leaner and I feel like i can really learn easily with the system with the right directions. The event aspect of the system is great for what we need to with our association.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

I believe customer service response time can be faster and more detailed. Not getting an answer 3-4 days later is a little unacceptable. Lets get better here! As they are talking in the general sessions about pictures or screenshots, it would be nice to get those also, i have not.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fast regsitration time.

 ### 21. Strength and Usability: a Great Match

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Our independent non-profit has institutional members and therefore required an association management system that could be structured to support those members, with flowdown of benefits for the individuals at those organizations. MemberSuite does that and so much more. We did not require any custom configuration during implementation or after. The customer support team is incredibly responsive and always willing to jump on a call to go over a feature or answer questions. During monthly calls with our customer support manager (CSM) we are updated on upcoming releases, changes, and have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss options.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

MemberSuite has an API which is helpful for things like connecting with other systems (Higher Logic, for example). We can use the API for importing contacts (with technical support on our end) and are hoping that MemberSuite offers more control over importing soon.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Evaluate the key functions you need now vs. future potential.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Linking MemberSuite and our marketing automation system has given us more insight into what our members are responding to in our email communications and on our website. We've also been able to streamline our annual renewal process and use MemberSuite to sell our publications and other merchandise.

 ### 22. Great company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle J. | Administrative Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The staff are passionate, knowledgable and friendly. They are hardworking, have had to solve a lot of problems remotely and are very patient.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Its taken a long time to go live. This is my 2nd Engage and we still haven't gone live.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Do your homework, break down all of your processes and get a clear picture of what you want.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cutting down on paperwork, combining all of our databases, streamlining processes.

 ### 23. My review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda S. | Managing Director, Global Events and Member Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I really like the way that our CSM, and the entire MS team, works with us as our partners. There has been a lot of change inside of MS recently and you can really feel those powerful shifts.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Not being able to take foreign currency payments is a big downside

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We've moved away from manual excel sheets and have cut down on human error

 ### 24. Been a long time to get where we are today

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robin T. | Director of Finance and Administration, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The possibilities it has, the diy reports

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Implementation and training was a serious struggle for us. I took over 6 months for us to be even comfortable with the ability for MS to record transactions correctly.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Make sure you have competent staff to work through the financial and implementation of the product

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Simplifying our dues schedules to make it easier to make changes

 ### 25. Once you learn how to operate Membersuite, you discover that it is a great resource.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2018

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The search feature is my absolute favorite aspect of Membersuite. It allows one to easily find information within all the modules. Plus, you can save searches that you frequently use so that you have easy access to.

I also like the portal forms. These are forms that you can create for your users to complete. I have used them for election ballots, award nominations, and to gather other information that membersuite does not include. Once you are ready to collect the results from these forms, you can pull a report in minutes and have all the information you need at your fingertips. This feature is a great time effiecient resource

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Not always user-friendly. At times, information is not always where you think it is and this gets frustating because it can take longer to locate the information you need.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Ensure that you get a good onboarding with this product. Trying to learn by yourself is frustrating. If you pay close attention in the onboarding process, you will have the tools to quickly learn how to utilize membersuite.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Application submissions, election ballots, conference registrations, membership dues, etc.

The benefits I have realized is the ease at which membersuite helps me tackle all of the above items and how I can eaisly search and pull organized reports in a time efficient manner.

 ### 26. Access and Adaptability Enabling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaun H. | Senior Director of Information Technology & Marketing, Higher Education, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2018

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

A competitive advantage MemberSuite has over other providers is the flexibility of its API and ability to integrate with other systems and its ability to customize fields and data import/exports to manage data. This makes the system scalable and allows for a more customized fit to meet business processes of the organization, while staying on a core product.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

MemberSuite knows it cannot be a one-size fits all or one-stop-shop for what dedicated systems provide, which is why integrations are important; however, there is basic functionality in the finance and marketing modules that if given a little more love could be decent baseline modules without the additional brute-force staff time it takes to make them operate efficiently.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Have at least part of a staff members job dedicated to supporting MemberSuite within the association, so there is internal "train the trainer" and someone to test and watch for software releases and provide support to other non-power users.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MemberSuite runs the core of our business. There are several modules and systems that have been centralized, and the system is the primary system in which all member accounts and systems are referenced against. This centralization of our member ecosystem allows us to more efficiently and effectively manage our records with the staff resources we have.

 ### 27. 7 out of 10

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I think over the last year they have drastically increased their support and customer services. Support tickets are answered in a timely manner. Now that I have had a couple years in the system and can understand how reports work it is a great tool.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

It is a hard system to learn and takes a while. I do not like the member portal (we also still haven't gotten the upgraded version). The CRM module is lacking.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

It will take time but once you learn it it can be great tool

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Custom objects help us a lot.

 ### 28. More documentation needed for use

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I like the new Report Studio and the easier use of hte interface.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

I dislike the Advance Search method. If you don't know what to put in the fields, you can't look for it.
It would be helpful to have "cheat sheets" or other type of documentation on short cuts, frequent tabs or links, or a list of common terms.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Look at the size of your organization's membership to make a good choice.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving contacting members by using the correct information. We are also starting to look at ways to communicate directly from MS.

 ### 29. Our MemberSuite experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Being able to write queries and interpret data is easier than in our former AMS.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Challenges with customizations - specifically when upgrades occur our customizations aren't always easy to upgrade however, there's been an improvement recently. We still have to test our processes carefully after a major update which is probably recommended with any AMS however this takes up staff time and effort.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More staff have access to our data and can view and interpret the data. We are no longer relying on one person's knowledge and availability to complete fairly simple processes.

 ### 30. Great customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2018

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The people at MemberSuite are great to work with. They are patient with our many questions and take the time to explain their answers. I can count on a quick response when I submit a support ticket and I can always send an email to our Customer Success Manager for a quick question.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

We've been with MemberSuite for about a year now and any issues we've had have been quickly addressed so at this time I have nothing I can think of that I really dislike.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

During implementation, really think about how you need things to be set up and don't be afraid to ask questions of the MemberSuite team. Also, think about what data you want to move to MemberSuite and take the time to review the data before the move.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The automated billing has saved us time in preparing invoices and our members are paying more quickly. We have also been able to customize how individuals and organizations are set up to better manage our records.

 ### 31. Great for Non-Profits!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Zenita H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2018

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I work primarily on the event side of MemberSuite, and so far I have had a great experience. All the information I need, plus email notifications are all in one spot, so it makes my life so much easier!

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

This is a very in-depth system, so at times it can become frustrating when you need to change things around. But once you get the hang of it, its actually not that bad. The one thing I still struggle with the most is when I have to create searches.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far, the best business problem that MemberSuite has solved, is that we don't need multiple applications to complete tasks. The hardest part of working for a Non-Profit Organization is having information in too many different places, and MemberSuite has really tried to tie all of them together in one system.

 ### 32. MemberSuite

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cheri B. | Finance Manger, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

MemberSuite has some great reporting options, many ways to customize what you need to for your business.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

I feel that it is not the best "financial" software

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has reduced the number of payment entries. Prior to MemberSuite, we had to document every payment in two systems.

 ### 33. Our customizations make it difficult to receive great customer service,

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sandra R. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Intergration of modules to avoid duplication of data entry

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

we initially purchased product at lease 7 years ago, we invested alot in our customization. It seems that our customizations are now causing problems

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer portal allows us to maintain a small staff

 ### 34. Improving every day

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

MemberSuite gives their customers power over their data, and allows to configure to your needs.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Some of the field we want to edit are locked.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Be open to changes in procedures and to not do things the way you've always done them.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In our previous system, we were unable to track one of our programs, By leveraging custom objects, we are able to track this program and have doubled the revenue in 2 years.

 ### 35. Great Engage conference

I would liked the report session to be longer.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

none so far --- going live next week.

 ### 36. bright future with MemberSuite

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Policy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Portal!! with MRP is on the way, it would be even better/efficient for users who can take advantage of MemberSuite. It is convenient to switch from console to portal for our staff.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

The process in the MemberrSuite console requires too many clicks to complete.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

If you do not want to deal with high-level technology by yourself, use MemberSuite.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Achieve/complete high-level processes and enhancements without requiring individuals with advanced technical knowledge.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to integrate MemberSuite with custom applications

 ### 38. Who are the Advanced Users?

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The MemberSuite staff is eager to help you make their system work for your unique organization.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

The system isn't particularly intuitive and can be quite clunky.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Ensure the data transfer process is clearly mapped out by MS

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are working to streamline all association operations in one, single tool. .Housing our data in one location will increase efficiency as soon as it can be cleaned up.

 ### 40. Reporting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

I really enjoy the reporting dashboard and the option to create custom graphs and charts.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

There's a discrepancy between the canned reports and the ones that we run on our own, so it seems that some data isn't being pulled. This can lead to uncertainty about the data we are using.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to create custom data charts is extremely helpful.

 ### 41. Great education

 ### 44. A Good All-In-One Resource for Associations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Candice Z. | Director | Programs + Membership, Non-Profit Organization Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2018

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

Even though each association is different, MemberSuite is highly customizable--events, awards, certifications, member directory... they can cover it all.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Our company has been a client since 2011 and over the years we've had some challenges with Support but this has become much better recently. Our CSM has been a very valuable resource.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Searching data is quite easy with MemberSuite because everything is housed in one place. As long as the user knows how to limit the search appropriately, it's quick and easy to find very specific records. This makes our clients happy when we're able to answer all of their curiosities or dwindle down a list to specific criteria quickly.

 ### 45. More focused on bacckend and less on front end

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

Is so robust, it becomes cluttered and difficult to learn when you don't use all of the modules. Also is not user-friendly inn the interfaces for customers.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

can run better reports on user data than we could before

 ### 46. Membersuite Review

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

The database has a very easy search so if updates are needed they can be done quickly.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

They have been promising updates for a while now, and they have not happened. It's more outdated than it should be.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

This is a great tool when you have a large database of people. easy to update records. the Search function is a bit clunky but not too bad in the grand scheme of things.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it as a member database. It's nice to have an easy way to update member information when they can't login.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2018

**What do you like best about MemberSuite?**

The flexibility of the AMS is terrific and the open API fits our needs easily and quickly. We use MemberSuite to handle the management of a wide range of events. With the open API we can easily integrate our email marketing campaigns to drive registration for our events.

**What do you dislike about MemberSuite?**

With a robust and flexible system at our fingertips comes an intricate weaving of software coding. While the ability to search records is phenomenal, it has taken a long time to understand how to properly search for the data my company wishes to utilize for projects.

**Recommendations to others considering MemberSuite:**

Ask questions. Test. Validate your data before conversion. Train everyone.

**What problems is MemberSuite solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we first sought to replace an aging event registration platform we had no idea we'd end up with a full AMS that now drives our website access thru single sign on and an AMS that integrates easily with our email marketing vendor to provide target marketing of our products and services.
