Overall, it’s very helpful for an email marketer. **What do you dislike about MailPoet?** The email editor feels weak and outdated (it reminds me of the old WP post editor from before the Gutenberg era). In my opinion, it should be more Gutenberg-like, similar to the block editor in Mailerlite. The interface also feels slow, and it seems to depend heavily on my WordPress site’s speed. Turns out a link I'd included to a source website was to a site on some banned list (how would I even know that?!). Support also went on about using shortlinks in the email. You could still do all that stuff using Zapier, and to do a lot of stuff that MailPoet can do, you'd need to use Zapier with MailChimp as well. so 6 of one half a dozen of the other. **What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm solving the problem of giving my Wordpress website customers (and myself) a solid Email Newsletter that works right inside Wordpress, so no need for 3rd party solutions. Also, Mailpoet will replace the WooCommerce sequence of emails which allows you to redesign WooCommerce emails sent out when people buy a certain product or a certain category of products which really enhances the personalisation you can add to your eCommerce store. ### 9. It helps you keep your audience engaged with super easy-to-use ready-made welcome emails, newsletters, and notification templates. This plugin makes it easy to automate and schedule emails for every action your audience takes on your website, such as welcome emails for new signups and post notification emails when you publish a new blog post. Now they have also launched templates for wooCommerce stores, for example: Cart Abandonment Emails or whenever users make their first purchase, etc. **What do you dislike about MailPoet?** Earlier I thought there is nothing to dislike about this plugin but after facing some issues on our website. I can say there is some things that needs fixing. An issue occured while connecting our own smtp and disabling the double verification mail support took more than 24hrs to respond. There is a lack of design and aesthetics on the subscribe forms. You have to use elementor forms or any other form builder for that. **Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:** Highly recommendable plugin, but if you are feeling skeptical, then try their free version of it. Trust me its worth it; make sure to have a grasp on sending service because sooner or later, you will need self sending service. **What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are currently using MailPoet to automate our lead magnets and send weekly post notifications to our subscribers. It is much quicker and easier than setting up a manual e-mail campaign, and we don't need to worry about manually sending emails to new subscribers when they are added, an automation takes care of it automatically, and the flow continues to run. ### 11. It's free and pretty easy to build a newsletter. **What do you dislike about MailPoet?** It's the first time I write a review for our subscribers and while I thought I'd share my experience to help other users avoid falling into the same trap as I did. We have a list of close to 20k subscribers acquired over five years on a single website through an opt-in form. After we passed the 2000 mark, we were no longer able to send emails to our subscribers without becoming paying subscribers of MailPoet, which we understood. Following a rebranding and redesign of the site, we decided to upgrade our MailPoet account as we were no longer able to send emails to our subscribers. Right after paying for the upgrade (99 euros / $120), MailPoet asked us to fill a form to explain how we had acquired those subscribers. After completing the form, we were told that our MailPoet account would be subject to approval. I found the practice of charging a customer first, then requesting the user to go through an approval process borderline unethical. Why not be upfront and ask those questions before charging your customers? We were really disappointed by such business practices so we decided to cancel our subscription straight away. Little did I know that I couldn't do so during the approval process. So you pay for a month of subscription but can't use the service. I emailed the support team to cancel my subscription immediately. I got a response 9 days later. I was informed that our account was not approved and that I would be refunded of my payment. A month later, not only have I not been refunded of my canceled subscription but worse, we have been charged for another month! With no way to cancel the subscription. Since I publish new blog articles daily, there is always fresh content for my Mail Poet emails. The initial email design was "drag and drop" simple. The statistics reports that follow each campaign show how effective the platform is. **What do you dislike about MailPoet?** I haven't come across any drawbacks to the product. I know there is a great deal of technology going on that I really don't understand. I handle the content, Mail Poet handles the delivery, tracking, and statistic feedback that lets me know I am doing a good job without having to understand all of the "magic" that makes it happen. **Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:** If you are blogging and not capitalizing on capturing your audience with email integration, you are missing out. Mail Poet and WordPress are a match made in heaven. Trust me, you'll be convinced after just a few email distributions. You'll wonder why you ever used WordPress without Mail Poet. **What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to consistently reach the Inbox of my subscribers has proven challenging with other third-party email systems I have used. The ease of content curation and the remarkable "open" and "click" rates I have achieved using the Mail Poet plug-in are astonishing. Every time I send out a mailing, I see an uptick in website traffic. More eyeballs on my site means more opportunities to deliver my message and capitalize on the website traffic. ### 18. The best feature is that it integrates with Wordpress nicely, and everything can be completed in Wordpress (welcome emails, newsletters and segmentation) without having to use another service. Another feature is the flexibility in the settings on how to activate certain email triggers when people join a website, or new content is updated. **What do you dislike about MailPoet?** There is nothing I dislike, only a suggestion for improvement which is the premium version of mail poet 3 should have the ability to support bounce emails using external email services. The current workaround requires a 3rd party created a plugin which I don't like, as it's not fully supported by mail poet. To use the bounce service with mail poet the only current option is to subscribe to there entire email service, which is not ideal, especially for organisations like myself who are partnered with amazon SES. My recommendation for the mail poet team, to further improve their product is to simply add the bounce service support to the premium plugin, or as a separate paid supported addon. **Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:** If you're considering using mail poet, a startup with the free service which supports 1000 users. If that works, then switch over and make sure your web hosting is decent (dedicated hosting is preferred). **What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?** Were able to drop MailChimp and switch all services to mail poet for a client. This making everything much simpler, cleaner and secure. No more futzing around with fiddly MC external email list and building tedious newsletters, now I send amazing emails, much more frequently, directly out of my WP website. I wish it integrated with BookFunnel (maybe it will in the future), yet no more procrastinating on sending content. No more double-time with writing blog posts and also struggling to come up with ezine content. It's one step, and I'm always connecting others to my blog, so much easier and superior to an outside newsletter solution. Surprised more people are not using MailPoet. It is an uber-fast solution to creating and sharing content to connect with readers all from within the dashboard of one's own website. **What do you dislike about MailPoet?** There is nothing that I don't like about the app. The app solves my issue of not sending ezines regularly (I just could not deal with use of external email applications such as MailChimp and so on). I love that I can use the MailPoet drag-and-drop features to create and send out professional-looking newsletters in minutes all from within the WordPress website dashboard. It is easy, peasy. **Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:** MailPoet is forever free up to 1,000 subscribers, so anyone can try it, see how simple it is to reach out to mailing list subscribers, keep them connected to your website and brand, with zero risks. As the mailing list templates are WordPress integrated, the app has sign up forms for widgets and pages/posts that are integrated (no more fussing endlessly with API codes and cutting and pasting CSS/HTML code and trying to figure out why the sign-up forms are not working). MailPoet is also GDPR-compliant, which makes it easy to follow the communications laws and guidelines worldwide. **What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?** The need for more frequent contact with subscribers (because I was not logging into MC to create ezines) was solved by MailPoet3. Understand the risks involved if you are banned for problems due to bounce rates (which will never be told to you) including other forms on your website that will have go be swapped out. Reach out to their customer service team to evaluate support before purchase. Look for user group support on Facebook or other sites to ensure that you have adequate help when something goes wrong. **What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?** I switched to MailPoet 3 after several years of using MailChimp. Not only can you create a nifty sign-up form for subscribers, you can also create newsletters to send out to your customers for new product announcements, blog/news posts and more. My experience using MailPoet in that regard was fairly solid, however the layout of the newsletter was a bit limited in options. I used an email list cleaning company to verify my list before sending a campaign. The open and click rate were both excellent, however I apparently had an unacceptable Spam rate according to MailPoet and therein began a series of problems I encountered. I received a computer-generated letter saying that my bounce rate was too high and I would be permanently banned from using MailPoet 3 for life. What??? No additional information, no appeal process, nothing. So I went to a very large Facebook User's Group and posted my situation and that is when I got a real person form MailPoet to respond to my concern. The response I got was a bit 'cavalier' -- a kind of polite "gee we're sorry, yeah, you're basically screwed but maybe I can help you out". Not any kind of sympathetic understanding for what it took to learn and integrate the product in the first place or information about why I was banned. The worst part is that MailPoet also allows for the creation of Subscription forms, so it is unclear to me whether or not I am also 'banned' from the use of their subscription forms. So my review as I mentioned is I think it's a good product but a word of caution before leaving Chimpmail -- if you end up getting banned you will be facing hours of work removing the subscriber forms from your site and other elements that you decided to include from MailPoet in this instance. I have learned my lesson and will be sending out groups of emails going forward. I am glad I am a member of the user group on Facebook because that visibility got the attention of an employee who wanted to offer customer service to me as a result. I wonder if I would have gotten any reply otherwise. ### 28.
