The program itself is very easy to learn . Its layout and interface makes it quick and efficient and the rendering quality is top notch
|t provides a quick rendering of your project which gives you a realistic projection of what it would look like in real life.
It is a must have program for all people who work (or aspire to) in the professional design or engineering fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the layer layout interface could be improved.
Maybe a quick modelling platform for quick editing could be helpful, but only if it does not compromise the speed of program itself.
(optional) it would be better if there were a more various selection of hdris for rendering.
Other than that there is very few things that Keyshot could do to improve that comes to mind. It is a very well rounded program that provides the user with just what s/he needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Super easy to set up from any CAD modelling system, great material and environment selection and easy to apply. You can go from model to photorealistic rendering or animation in minutes. I really like the cutaway function which makes it easy to show a section of a model in order to visualise internal parts, etc. The best part of it is that you can get high-quality results in seconds, I think most users will only need to spend little time but if you want to get even more realistic product shots, say for marketing purposes, you can spend a bit more time so that the rendering engine fully works out all the details in shadows and reflections. As opposed to some rendering software that I have used in the past where you need to wait for renders to fully complete before you see any results. KeyShot makes it a bit analogous to waiting for a cake to bake in the oven, you can always pull the cake out as soon as the result is acceptable to you :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's very little not to like about it. I guess that it could be made even better by adding more tutorials and examples for beginners to learn the tips and tricks of KeyShot. Also could e improved by having more varied demo scenes of objects/scenarios of different scales. The most difficult bt about KeyShot however is the price, the cost is a little bit much for the amount of use that we would get out of it, especially being less and less orientated in physical design. A pay-as-you-go license model could be a better solution for our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keyshot takes care of lightning in an easy way, and lets you preview the result of your rendering before pressing the button. Being able to do short animations on the software is also great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much. I can imagine people saying that Keyshot misses features for 3d creation, but it's exactly the simplicity of the interface and the focus on rendering that makes me like the product. The only problem I've encountered is that it's difficult sometimes to get rid of the noise artifacts in the final rendering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I liked the easy to use interface, I like the drag and drop functionality of materials without the technical knowledge of setting up shaders. You can also customize your materials with the material editor. Just set up your environment for your product if it will be used for i.e. interior, product shots and you're good to go. Adding labels is a breeze as well. No need to know how to UV map your model just to add labels on your meshes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The render engine used to only rely on CPU cores. But with the recent versions, you can use your GPU to render as well. So there is nothing I dislike about it now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the real time rendering, I can see how the render is going to look before I finish. I spend so much time with my modelling in rhino that i love that i can have realistic pictures with keyshot really quick and with amazing quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would like to have more fabric and leather materials. It spends a lot of memory and graphics from my computer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The speed, and the user interface. Also the ease in apply materials. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maybe, it is not an issue... The fact that it is hard to use it for environmental design with the same easenest. I do not ever use Clarisse ( this software is incredible for large amount of objects ) , but maybe add some sort of technology would be very useful to make this amazing product perfect for any situation. Is very easy to learn.
The excellent features that bring the software like its material selection, the environment lights, Animation, KeyVR, its interface is very easy and intuitive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some error in material selection when I am rendering in GPU mode
Is needed a high-capacity computer to run it, because of its high performance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
easy to put material and edit material, fast rendering, better for automotive / product rendering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
light setting is poor, home interior rendering not coming much realistic, hope we have section view with rendering!, Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like its big variety ot textures an materials and the speed ow work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, when you have a heavy model yoy need to wait for a long time, but it is up to my hardware I guess. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a renderer it is great, especially if you use GPU mode with an RTX card.
Good Workflow, reasonable results for the time it takes to set up and render. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The licensing system is buggy. Whenever you want to work from a different computer (such as a laptop), you have to deactivate the license on the previous computer. The deactivation always works, but whether or not you can reactivate on the other computer is up to the licensing gods. I have been caught out a number of times where I have deactivated on my desktop, taken the laptop home to do a late night and finish a job and the license does not reactivate. Support are only available Monday to Friday during business hours, so the earliest I get the license reset is the next day. I have missed deadlines and really pissed off clients for something that should not be an issue. This is equally as frustrating if you simply forget to deactivate before you leave the office as the only viable way to reactivate before support is back online is by physically going back to the office. The ease of use and the quality of the renderings. Large library of quality materials Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The processing time of the high quality renders, although I understand why it may sometimes take so long. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keyshot has a ton of built in textures, which are real-world accurate and look fantastic. It renders gorgeously and is pretty easy to use. Importing objects is simple and intuitive. Importing your own textures and maps is simple to do as well, and you can use pre-made materials and tweak them to suite your needs. The built in turntable features are useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keyshot can't import Maya files directly, so it can be tedious to export/import. Their real world accurate textures are dependent on scale, so editing your models is an extra step you have to take. I wish they had hair presets, that would be really helpful. I wouldn't render animations with it though, unless you have a really really strong computer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of use of the interface as it is laid out in a very logical and clear way. It is incredibly easy to get a good looking render in a short space of time and with a bit of work the renders can be outstanding and incredibly realistic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not a massive fan of their prices as the upgrade fee for the new version is quite high.
The plugin performance for some 3rd party software can be a bit glitchy some time and it loves to eat through ram. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keyshot's usage is to get renders! Even though it's great for producing your lighting and setting up your scene. I find it shines best when wish to flaunt a version in a scene, or I want to leave work in advance. I am in a position then put it directly to export an obj in my software of choice and begin using their materials that are premade. The app is simple editing yourself and to use in regards to substances. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This might not be important to the app of my system and simply. I operate MacBook Pro camped. Not great for using this program's ability. For carrying off, while my notebook prepares with having a MacBook Pro comes a corner in my office and making speeds. This isn't just as much a Keyshot difficulty since it's my very own as stated previously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The possibility of editing and cutting the 3D model to showing the interior of the design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You have to use a Solidworks plug-in to transfer the model to Keyshot. If you don't use it, you lose materials imported from solidworks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keyshot is the absolute best when it comes to rendering - be it an image or a video, you will be able to perform a fast rendering of a high level, professional result. Its learning curve is really quick, as the software has been designed in an intuitive way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keyshot is sometime slow to render, depending on the processor you may have. Usage of lower level resolution as a first attempt is advised. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) It's really easy to use, even if you don't have experience with rendering;
2) instalation easily;
3) it communicates well with numerous modeling software;
4) it's rapid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) It is a little bit limited software in the choice of materials, lights, enviroments;
2) I don't like the interface;
3) it could be more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keyshot is the best and fast 3D rendering software. It contain amazing features like,animation,real time ray tracing,color libraries,material templates so on.It has very user friendly interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Problem is need high capacity computer to run it, because of high performs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
