John has a direct but refreshing style of addressing today's life as an account executive in areas of prospecting and account management. Coming from the Sandler style of learning, John really connects today's issues and how to deal with a world that is tied to social media and AI.

I wish I could have one day a week devoted to his training!

Prospecting, Account touches, Messaging and Closing techniques.  As I begin a new career, his previous training videos were used in our on-boarding and I feel much better about being set up for success. I highly recommend him to anyone in the sales world.

I use JB sales training to learn the building blocks of sales starting from prospecting, cold outreach, deal optimization and everything in between. These guys have their video library on key, and their webinars are amazing too.

**What do you like best about JB Sales?**

The team at JB sales is full of energy, and are all experts at what they do. With sales, there's obviously no one-size-fits-all approach but they have broken down the tools you need as a BDR, AE, or CEO for that matter in order to show value, and win that sale.

**What do you dislike about JB Sales?**

Sometimes it's hard to find the time for training as a working professional. I've reaped the best rewards when I put time on my calendar and lock in an hour or two a week to enhance my skills.

I'm solving a ton of problems and some of the best tips have come from their cold outreach methodology. This goes all the way from prospecting to writing cold emails, making cold calls, and little tips along the way to book that meeting.

''It's great to not have it as structured as other trainings and quite open because that way, we actually get to ask questions on what is relevant to us NOW, as opposed to having a strict, outlined agenda where relevant stuff isn't covered.

John's training is also so FRESH and NEW, it's very relevant. I honestly don't think being trained on a specific method (let's take SPIN for example) would be as useful, because it becomes quite complicated with the nature of our business...

Personally, I have found it very useful to understand the power of PROCESS and research. This is something every SDR can benefit from and improve for sure. These sessions are also so actionable and I have already started to implement key components into my everyday.''

John's training was filled with tactical advice, feedback, and real examples.  There was also a feeling of relief when I realized he sells with integrity, and communication with prospect is built around helping and not "tricking them" in any way.

I'm only hoping I can make sure to set up the systems he recommends.  Dedicated time each day could be a game-changer.

The main topic was improving the effectiveness of outbound messaging.

**What do you like best about JB Sales?**

- The instructor, Leslie, was friendly and knowledgeable. 
- She has some good anecdotes.
- I learned about some new tools that may be worth exploring.

**What do you dislike about JB Sales?**

- The learning objectives for each session were unclear. It would be helpful if each session began with an agenda so that the structure was clear, and a list of learning objectives, so it was more obvious what we should be concentrating on.
- The bulk of the teaching came through anecdotes. This meant that a lot of it was passive consumption rather than active learning. For example, there was a section in the first session about bad subject lines in emails. Leslie taught this in a theoretical way with a general discussion of some things that could make a prospect more or less likely to click into an email. I would have preferred to see some concrete examples comparing good and bad versions of email subject lines in the slides. Even better, we could have had a 5-minute task where we had to improve bad subject lines. If you decide to rework the course materials, please consider including concrete examples of things being discussed in the slides, and including short practical tasks for the attendees.
- After the sessions, I'm finding it difficult to know which were the most important parts of the training. Having a summary at the end of each session on the key takeaways would be helpful.
- I loved that A/B testing was included in the sessions. I felt like more concrete details for how to go about A/B testing could have been included. There are so many ways that tests can go wrong and you can draw misleading conclusions from your data that it warranted a more careful discussion.

Make outbound sales pipeline more efficient. It's only been a couple of hours since the training, so no noticeable benefits yet.

There were so many amazing nuggets to be learned from negotiation, agenda setting, pushing for the close, reading the room, one-liners in meetings, in emails, etc. One of the best trainings I've had and I've done them all

The training hit the spot on everything that we needed. Best part is that he's an entertainer at the same time so you don't have to sit through a boring 4-hour training....

N/A. Everything was literally amazing. The reps thought it was incredible and that's all that matters!

The biggest thing to think about is what type of style sales training do you need. The big players like Force or Sandler training is great for 200+ sales reps who need complete process overhaul and change management. This is great for teams of 10-100 that need to hone in on some additional skillsets.

Making sales reps close more deals, faster. I already saw the entire team apply many of JB's tips to their sales process which is incredible. 100% confidence we will close more deals

John Barrow came into to provide training to our Sales, Customer Success and Solutions Engineers. We all have different types of interactions with customers and all have varying levels of experience under our belt. Let's just agree that's a tough crowd to make a training for that would be applicable for everyone... But JB Sales definitely delivered!

**What do you like best about JB Sales?**

John was extremely engaging, I actually didn't tune out and check emails once which says a lot compared to other remote trainings. I really appreciated his fluid style with the training content. It really allowed us to get the most out of our time with him. If we asked him for any advice on challenges we were having he'd always have at least 3 different strategies or resources to use that were actually realistic and practical....None of the typical tactics and acronyms like A.B.C that sound good at first but don't really translate!

No complaints honestly, probably the first time I can say that about a training :)

If you want to super charge your prospecting, qualification and deal scoring before we're too far into the year, you gotta get John on the line.

My favorite part about JBarrows is how he unpacks complex scenarios and provides simple, actionable advice. For example, a teammate asked JBarrows how to navigate an enterprise cycle with multiple departments that had multiple priorities. JBarrows recommended to create a venn diagram to map out each department and to identify where there is overlap between departments/priorities to have a wholistic view to strategize with.

Some of the information was simple and can be found in basic sales books or Youtube videos.

One of the fundamental things I struggled with is apologizing to customers. It always felt like I was burdening them or taking up their valuable time. After all, that's how I feel as a receiver of a cold call, so why wouldn't executives of large organizations feel the same way? I was taught to shift my frame of thinking, focus on appreciation rather than concern, like asking them for help, or thanking them for their time. 

John is also an incredibly authentic teacher. He doesn't pretend that his training is going to solve all your worlds problems. But there's a real heart to his teaching and his way of relating to the struggles of the people he teaches and his explanation on "why" certain methods work and "why" they don't makes the sales training feel a lot more organic, and less like a presentation with everyone going "mhm that makes sense".

I like how authentic John is with his training. He's super conversational and loves pointing out things that seem like common sense at first glance, but hard to recognize unless someone points them out.

If I had to critique the training, I would have liked a section covering how to go into a call if there was no prep done. assuming the expectation was to call down a list immediately, what are some of the common tips and objection handling methods to approaching the list?

I've started thanking people more and they have been more receptive to answering my questions and passing me to the right people. Example, I recently spoke to a receptionist when I was leaving a message for the owner was eagerly asking me questions and I could hear she was actively typing down a message to pass over. In the past when I left a message they just asked for my name, which often meant my message wasn't even passed along.

This training helped provide a repeatable and battle tested structure to how you should approach Outreach in Sales. From Account research to execution, this training helped me simplify my approach to selling a very complex solution. Specifically, his structure for cold emails and cold calls have already made a substantial impact on my performance.

**What do you like best about JB Sales?**

We work at a Technology company that sells a very complex technical solution. Having a sales professional come teach us on how to be better sales professionals. This isn't a course on tips/tricks to be a better sales professional. This is a course that lays out the critical building blocks that you must work on to become a more effective sales profession, regardless of your industry. In other words the "What should I do" and the "Why I should do it". In addition, he sets clear examples for "How you should do it", but not in a way that says here's how I do sales outreach, just copy this and you'll be better. More in a way of here's "How" you should approach building, testing and optimizing an outreach strategy that is specific to your company and that works well for your style. This is something I'm really excited to build on. 

Ultimately, John is a great guy and it's evident that he truly does care about the people he's working with. He's easy to work with and creates an environment where it's easy to ask questions and he'll make sure to spend time to ensure he's providing the 'context' to how his lessons can play a role in your specific world.

JB Sales training has been the most resonant and impactful training we've had in recent memory - concise, targeted, and process-driven, with all of the pieces and parts of the routine to make a salesperson successful in complex, non-linear enterprise sales. If you're not training and doing the work daily, per JB, you're not going to win. 

We participated in a series of remote sessions, which were just as impactful as in-person, but allowed the freedom and flexibility to learn in a digital format. The topics on filling the funnel, outreach strategies, organization and prioritization, and making a personal sales plan were extremely helpful, and I found myself implementing his strategies as SOON as our sessions would wrap. The effort and time he asks for in return for the excellent learnings are minimal - but the impact is going to be massive!

I'm so ready to implement each of the things I learned from JB, and one day when I run my own sales org, you can bet that I will call on him again to set the tone for my team. All in all, fantastic sessions, worthwhile and enduring strategies, and great time with John to boot - money well spent!

John is approachable, relatable, and no-nonsense: his training is tactical and approach based, versus pie-in-the-sky or theoretical. He gives you process improvement suggestions, templates, formats, and the formulas to derive your own success - and I appreciate that there was no 'one size fits all" doctrine, because in modern day sales, that is a relic of the past. JB focuses instead on agile sales methodology, and how best to meet your prospects where they are with what they need to hear, in order to broker a meeting with them. Cannot recommend highly enough!

My only regret is that we can't keep JB on staff on retainer at our company, because I'd love to be able to have weekly training and coaching sessions with him.

Data-driven, evidence-based training. Turning the filling the funnel into a workable process above just "schedule time and be positive" made a huge difference. The template-driven approach that actually ended up with reusable, highly customized work product was one of the most unique outcomes of any training that I've done before. So rather than the larger group being a negative, the breakouts and work groups turn it into a positive.

If time would allow, would have liked to do some role-playing, but not viable in a larger group strategy.

John provided sales training for our sales team over the course of 3 days.

**What do you like best about JB Sales?**

John's training was very tactical but at the same time, it was very strategic.  The tactical pieces (maybe 6 to 8 things) made it easy doable for most reps.  Meaning, it wasn't too process heavy.  However, being able to execute on those few small things, it creates this strategic alignment for us and the customer in the selling process.  That was my favorite part as a sales leader.

Nothing really.  Would have loved to do it in person but because of Covid, it was virtual in zoom.

This is a perfect fit for any sales rep, sales manager, business development/sales development rep, or sales engineer org to take.

We had 3-afternoon sessions with John on building the sales funnel/pipeline. John has great content and delivers it in a highly energetic and enthusiastic manner. Any salesperson who is responsible for cold calling/prospecting/pipeline generation will benefit from this training and the methodology behind it as long as they execute on their learnings.
