The lack of live co-editing rarely breaks anything on its own, version control and comments hold up fine when people are handing a draft back and forth one at a time. Where it actually bites is when two people need to touch the same clause at the same moment, redlining language while someone else is proposing changes nearby, and the PDF format just isn&#39;t built for that. Most legal teams route around it rather than treat it as a gap: they negotiate and mark up language in Word or Google Docs with track changes until the clause is settled, then bring it into the PDF tool once it&#39;s final, purely for redaction, signature, and the audit trail. So the real-time gap isn&#39;t a dealbreaker, it just means the PDF editor&#39;s job starts later in the process than people expect going in, after the wording fight, not during it.
