For example, the way you can group certain assignments with specific students. Also, to be able to vary the weight each category holds in the overall grade. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** I do not like how difficult it is to navigate. It is not particularly easy to navigate how to use/manipulate many of the features so I feel like I am probably missing out on some features that could be helping me out. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** I recommend making sure you have a lot of time to learn the ins and outs of this program. Be ready to reach out to customer service. If you’re lucky, you will have at least 1 person on staff who is a pro at it, ask them all your questions! **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** The main benefit for us is that it is all-inclusive. We are able to use one piece of software to take attendance, write referrals, keep up with student immunizations, produce report cards etc... ### 2. It shows bar graphs for progress and allows access to information about individuals. Seating chart feature is great too. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** It’s very difficult to access information about a student and then return to the previous page. Too many places to look and click for navigating. There are several tabs, and they are sensibly organized. I also like that certain documents are stored for several years and current teachers can access past records. I like the layout and colors of the website as well. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** I use this application in a school setting. This site crashes very frequently and sometimes is not accessible at all. I also have trouble logging in every morning to take attendance. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** There may be an issue when excessive users are logged into the application. For example, our district has thousands of teachers logging on at the same time to take attendance which causes it to crash and makes the application slow. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** When I am able to successfully log in, it is very easy to accomplish tasks like taking attendance or downloading documents. Everything is straight forward and easy to understand. One benefit is that documents are stored safely and are secured. ### 4. It's also helpful to see past student behavioral records from other staff members just to get a better history of the student. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** Infinite Campus is difficult to navigate through. When you click on a tab for the student, all the tabs end up shifting around, which makes it confusing and disorienting. Furthermore, anyone can edit a comment/report made by someone else. I find that not being able to see past edits (or at least, who has tried to edit the comment) is problematic. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is a good way to keep track of student behavioral reports and attendance. Infinite Campus also helps staff members stay accountable by utilizing contact logs with parents and students. ### 5. Our school district use to use one program for attendance and to submit grades and another to keep our gradebook. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** There is not a way to look at the previous attendance of a class period all at once. You have to individually pull up each student. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems being solved are how to keep attendance and grades. It does combine them into one platform, as well as allow for the filing of behavior paperwork. ### 6. System is more multi-family friendly. ### 7. We used IC for everything from attendance to report cards. It was great having one central place for all of these items. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** IC is a little bit antiquated. The platform itself seems a little old and needs some updating. More often than not, when completing report cards, the system would crash and nothing would save. Other than that, the system is pretty intuitive. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used this for our classes and school-wide. Once we were trained properly, we were able to use the many features of IC, but we did not receive adequate training. ### 8. Last year we had the same issue. Evidently there are glitches in the program or in tech support that do not allow our administration to easily register students. We're now mid-summer and no idea what we will be teaching due to IC's inability to create a schedule. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** Caution. Let others work out the bugs. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** We previously used JMC and, as teachers, this is not quite as good to record grades (we use this in conjunction with Schoology); however, from the administrative side, this (we are told) has greater benefits--except scheduling. ### 11. When trying to pull reports on multiple students or find students who share certain characteristics, it is very difficult to filter these results without dozens of steps. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Collects student data in one place. ### 12. System tracks changes in grade book and back end user area well. The audit trail is beneficial. The SIS does the basics required of it. The grade book functions well and has some ease of use features for teachers. **What do you dislike about Infinite Campus?** Some tasks are difficult to complete and tedious - setting up grade books, for example. Many reports that users would like or expect are unavailable. Customization is expensive. Response times for changes or assistance are not acceptable. The feel is very much like programmers created it without research geared toward the practical user. The mobile applications lack quality development. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** Look elsewhere due to future concerns. **What problems is Infinite Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** The future of the SIS is questionable as the company has not complied with all state's reporting requirements. The solution was to look elsewhere for SIS support. ### 13. Very buggy. I find multiple errors at the end of each term. **Recommendations to others considering Infinite Campus:** Be aware of the lack of intuitive design and features.
