## About Hudu
Hudu is a comprehensive IT documentation platform designed to help organizations streamline their operations and improve team efficiency. It provides a centralized hub for storing critical documentation—covering everything from systems, processes, and policies to credentials, SOPs, and asset records. With Hudu, teams can ensure that important information is always organized, easy to access, and kept up to date, making day-to-day work smoother and decision-making faster. While originally built for internal IT departments and MSPs, Hudu is flexible enough to support a wide range of industries, including finance, healthcare, education, and construction. Its structure can be tailored to fit the needs of any organization, whether you're managing internal infrastructure, supporting clients, or coordinating distributed teams. Teams can build custom asset layouts to track hardware, software, or industry-specific data. Knowledge base articles and SOPs support rich formatting, embedded content, and reusable templates to keep documentation consistent and easy to follow. Passwords and OTPs are stored securely with full access controls and history tracking for auditability and compliance. Hudu supports detailed permission management, so teams can control access at a granular level across departments, roles, or clients. It integrates with popular tools like Microsoft 365, ConnectWise, HaloPSA, NinjaOne, N-able, and many more to automatically sync key data and reduce manual entry. A browser extension and mobile app make it easy to access or update documentation on the go, whether in the office or the field. For more advanced workflows, Hudu offers a powerful API, allowing teams to automate documentation or integrate with internal systems. Organizations with strict security requirements can also choose to deploy Hudu on-premises with full control over their environment. With Hudu, teams can reduce onboarding time, cut down on repetitive questions, and ensure processes are followed consistently. It replaces scattered documentation with a centralized source of truth that’s easy to manage and scale. If your team depends on shared knowledge to operate efficiently, Hudu helps you keep it organized, accessible, and secure—no matter your industry or size.

## Hudu Reviews
 ### 1. Self-Hosted Documentation with a Clean API and Flexible MSP Asset Modeling

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark H. | Technical Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Self-hosted control and ownership of documentation data, combined with a clean API that makes it straightforward to integrate with automation platforms like n8n. The asset layout system is flexible enough to model MSP-specific relationships (clients → agreements → devices), and the KB structure keeps operational docs accessible without fighting the editor. For an MSP managing sensitive client environments, having the documentation platform on our own infrastructure rather than SaaS is a significant advantage.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

The permissions model could be more granular.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralising all client documentation — passwords, asset records, KB articles, and network diagrams — in a single self-hosted platform. For an MSP managing dozens of client environments, having one source of truth that integrates with our RMM and PSA tooling eliminates the scattered spreadsheets and tribal knowledge problem. It means any tech can pick up a ticket and find what they need without chasing someone down on Teams.

 ### 2. Centralized Documentation, Easy Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James S. | Shift Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I use Hudu for documenting all of our customers' infrastructure and passwords. I love the layout the most. It allows a short learning curve for new technicians while providing seamless access to any assets throughout the system. They are quick to update the UI to make it as easy as possible. The initial setup of Hudu was super easy, and we didn't need to reach out to support for any of it.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

We had issues with getting the built-in S3 exports to work correctly and ended up using Linux commands on the host server to get the exports the way we wanted them. Adding the ability to use other data storage sources such as Backblaze would be tremendously helpful.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu to centralize documentation, making it easily accessible for technicians. The intuitive layout shortens the learning curve for new users and ensures seamless access to system assets, with quick UI updates to enhance usability.

 ### 3. Highly Customizable Documentation Software with Responsive Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | Operations Manager | Sr. Network Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

The best feature about Hudu, in my opinion, is that it’s entirely customizable—almost every aspect of it.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

The only thing that I dislike about Hudu is that it is not FREE> No really, in all honesty, there is really not much to dislike. It works and works well for a documentation software. Support is extremely helpful and very responsice to issues that arise. The integrations work as expected.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Hudu, we were using MediaWiki. The UI of MW was very old and outdated and the proformaance was not always there. With Hudu, the interface looks very clean and professional and is very responsive.

 ### 4. Centralized IT Documentation Made Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James R. | Data & Systems Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

We use Hudu as our single source of truth for all customer IT documentation. It allows all our engineers to access everything they need from one single platform. I like the simplicity of password, asset, and documentation management, as well as the easy linking between passwords, assets, and KB articles. I also appreciate the version history logging. The initial setup was really straightforward thanks to plenty of online documentation, which helped us configure our custom assets in about a month. Hudu's sync with our ticketing system HaloPSA led us to switch from ITGlue, and it's been valuable for our needs.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I wish there were more native automation and integrations in Hudu, instead of having to rely on API push and pull requests. They also promote Magic dashboards, but they don't provide enough details on how to set them up.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu as a single source of truth for IT documentation, simplifying password, asset, and documentation management, and linking between them. It streamlines access for our engineers, keeps documentation standardized, and provides version history logging.

 ### 5. Facilitate IT documentation efficiently

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

What I like is that everything is really designed to facilitate the organization of documentation. I particularly like the ability to create custom object types, which allows you to choose the fields and attributes you can give them. It's much better than having "default" objects because Hudu really adapts to our use case. Another feature that works very well is the system of links between objects. This allows you to link objects to each other, like a server linked to the application it hosts, the password used, and the installed certificate, which makes it easier to navigate between information and find it easily. The initial deployment of Hudu was extremely easy, no friction, the instance was provisioned very quickly, and the configuration was intuitive. In a few days, I was able to customize and create the objects.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I think the automations could be improved. Currently, it is possible to create them but it's very basic. Another significant point of friction is the lack of markdown compatibility in the editor. Copy-pasting or directly importing markdown files is not directly possible, which is quite unfortunate given that markdown is a stable and universal format.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu to document IT, inventory servers, and track certificates/DNS. Its custom objects and links improve our organization and facilitate documentation.

 ### 6. Easy to adopt, and love the control of a private hosted instance.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean K. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

We came from non documentation / spreadsheet management to Hudu. It was easy to self host and secure. Pricing is reasonable, and they regularly release new versions with new features.

As an small MSP (3 man), we were able to build out our documentation and better organize our processes.

The newer version is also much faster than the original for lookups.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Self-hosting requires a bit more work to maintain and update, but overall, we find it worth it. I think Hudu will also offer hosting if you contact them.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Documentation of client environment, passwords and OTP.

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> Thanks for the great feedback! It's awesome to hear how Hudu helped streamline your processes and documentation. Self-hosting does come with some extra maintenance, but we’re glad it’s been worth it for your team. And yes, we do offer a hosted version.

 ### 7. User-Friendly, Continuously Improving, Cost effective, and Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick W. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Not only is Hudu VERY user friendly, it has a killer development team that actually listens to their community. It is constantly being optimized and upgraded and added to. Whenever I have an issue or a request I actually feel heard by their support team and multiple add-ons that I have voted for have already been added to the program. We were up and running the same day when we first implemented the program. It was also extremely easy to integrate our current systems and processes into the system. My company uses this system every day for its knowledge base and organization.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

To be honest, the things I dislike about Hudu are actively being worked on. If I had 20 things I didn't like about Hudu when we first implemented, I now no longer have those dislikes because the great development team has developed changes or add-ons. It's hard not to love Hudu.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem my company faces without Hudu is the Knowledge base and document management for all our properties. We own and run many hotels and other businesses, and being able to easily separate the entities while keeping everything in the same place was exactly what we needed. There are other programs out there that could certainly help us with this process, but not like Hudu can. Not as easily and cost-effectively.

 ### 8. Flexible, Secure, and Evolving Platform That Delivers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hans A. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

One of Hudus strengths is that it could easily be run on prem, behind protected firewalls. So much of the security decisions are up to you. Not just some employees at Hudu (or whatever product you wish), who might or might not share your concerns.

But security aside. We have used Hudu for about 2 years and have seen the features evolve and I must say. It has evolved great. Of course there are still features that could be better but overall. It works. It's easy to use. Works great with SSO. Other PSA and RMM solutions work great with it. And the price? Not to bad.

Overall it works as it's supposed to. Does what it claims and for a reasonable price.
It would be a hard sell to get us to replace it.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

When we first started out IPAM wasn't around and that was kind of a bummer but now that it's there. Great!
The IPAM functionality could be a little better and easier to use but once everything is linked it's easy to understand your environment.

So the lack of a perfected IPAM is one the drawbacks since everything has an IP.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It doesn't solve any mayor issues that another documentation system couldn't but it works great.

 ### 9. Review of Hudu

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhillon P. | IT Systems Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

We have been using Hudu for about a year for our documentation internally and it has been fantastic, we used It Glue before and never looked back and it's completely changed our workflow

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

The integrations have been abit slow but can understand from a dev point of view

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is benefitting us as we are able to document everything that we are doing for our new engineers

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> Thanks so much for the kind words! We're glad to hear Hudu has made such a positive impact on your workflow. When it comes to integrations, we totally get where you're coming from - we're always working to expand what's available while balancing stability and performance. If there's something specific you'd love to see, feel free to submit or upvote it on our Canny board so we can prioritize it: https://feedback.hudu.com/integrations

 ### 10. Effortless Documentation and Organization with Hudu

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew Y. | Senior Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu has been integral in keeping our documentation organized and easy to find. The interface is clean and user-friendly, and it’s made a positive difference in how quickly our team can get the info we need. I love how simple it is to update things and keep everything consistent.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

We have very few complaints when it comes to using Hudu. Overall, we've been very happy with it.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu helps us keep important information, documents, and SOPs organized by client, making it simple to access what we need on a daily basis.

 ### 11. Effortless Management and Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colton D. | System Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

The integrations and API make it possible for us to connect many of the applications we use throughout the organization, benefiting both our team and our customers.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

The .ca website does not reliably update information such as domain renewals and SSL expirations automatically. We find ourselves frequently needing to manually refresh the page just to see the most current details. As a Canadian customer managing many .ca domains, this becomes a recurring issue. While it only takes a few minutes for each domain, the cumulative time spent on these manual updates adds up and ultimately feels like a waste.

We've opened tickets about this in the past. The issue seems to go away for a little bit but keeps coming back.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate being able to securely store and share passwords with both our team members and clients when necessary. However, it would be even more secure if we had the option to restrict access to shared links by specifying an email address or requiring a password.

 ### 12. Centralised, Clear Documentation That Actually Works

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phillip P. | Cyber Security Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

What I appreciate most about Hudu is its clean and straightforward design. The layout is logical, so I never have to search through endless menus to find the information I need. Updating content is quick, and maintaining consistency is simple. Hudu genuinely feels like a tool that supports my work instead of hindering it, making documentation feel much less like a tedious task.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

What I find most frustrating about Hudu is that certain features still seem somewhat limited or incomplete. Occasionally, I find myself wishing for a bit more flexibility or built-in automation. While these aren’t major issues, there are moments when the limitations become noticeable, particularly if you’re aiming to streamline workflows or customize beyond the standard options. Overall, it’s a solid product, but there’s certainly space for some quality-of-life enhancements.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu has made a significant difference by providing us with a single, dependable source of truth for all our client information and procedures. Rather than wasting time searching through outdated tickets, scattered shared drives, or miscellaneous notes, we now have everything neatly organized and current. This level of consistency leads to fewer errors, quicker resolutions, and less frustration for the entire team. Ultimately, it cuts down on unnecessary distractions and allows us to concentrate on getting the actual work done, instead of spending time trying to assemble information from various places.

 ### 13. Clear and intuitive documentation platform with motivating elements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias W. | IT-Techniker, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

HUDU is a clear and well-thought-out documentation platform that is predominantly intuitive to use.

Particularly noteworthy is the very easy integration into our existing infrastructure. Daily use confirms the high stability of the platform and the quick response times in fixing bugs. The implementation of competitive elements also provides a nice incentive.

Overall, it is a very user-friendly solution. Contact with customer support (sales and technical) has always been very quick and effective so far.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

In my opinion, feature requests are not taken as seriously as they should be. When you look at the ideas submitted there, you notice how old many of them already are and how much approval they have received in some cases. I cannot understand why these suggestions have still not been implemented. Additionally, I miss a really clean integration for editing documents directly in the app. The import of existing data is rather sluggish depending on the environment used.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Here is the clean text regarding the question of what problem HUDU solves and how the team benefits from it:

The Problem Solved by HUDU
The main problem that HUDU addresses for us is the fragmentation and inconsistency of critical IT documentation. Before its introduction, passwords, asset details, standard procedures, and knowledge bases were scattered across various, unconnected systems. This led to unnecessary time loss in information retrieval and increased operational risk when resolving disruptions.

The Benefit for Our Team
- By using HUDU as a central knowledge platform, we directly benefit through:
- Increased Efficiency: The consolidation of all relevant information into an easily searchable database leads to significant time savings in routine tasks and incident response scenarios.
- Improved Stability and Security: Important access data is securely and structurally stored. Clear documentation of system dependencies reduces error susceptibility in change management.
- Sustainable Knowledge Transfer: Standardized processes and well-structured guides enable faster and more effective onboarding of new team members and ensure long-term corporate knowledge retention.

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> You’re absolutely right that some feature requests in our ideas portal have been around for quite some time. While we carefully review every request, our roadmap must balance community input with security, performance, scalability, and long-term product stability. Community feedback is the most important role in shaping Hudu, and many features released over time have come directly from those suggestions. We appreciate you sharing your perspective.

 ### 14. Perfect solution for MSPs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark A. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu is a very simple, very flexible system that has bags of power so you can customise as you need to. I'll be honest and say we were hesitant from signing up, but couldn't think how we'd manage without it now.

We were up and running very quickly and it's now a daily go to tool.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

It's so powerful that it can capably overstep into more traditional PSA type functions. It's a really strength, but we sometimes have to remember to define and draw lines on what is responsible for what. It does mean every business can set their own limitations based on their own needs.

Would love to see SSO for the client portal from Entra accounts - clients don't need more passwords!

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu has allowed us to document all our processes, asset lists and manage domain expirations and SSL automatically. It does everything we need it to and more.

 ### 15. Flexible and User-Friendly with Powerful Customization Options

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ehren S. | Owner and Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

What stood out to me right away was how easy and flexible it is to use. I appreciate that I’m not forced to follow someone else’s system for organizing data or tracking information. Instead, I have the freedom to create my own layouts and use my own data, while still being able to take advantage of the very useful templates that are available.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

It took me a while to become comfortable with the custom asset layouts, and setting up the integrations also required some additional effort. Although they functioned well overall, there were a few instances where I had to restart the process because the integrations did not work correctly on the first attempt.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With other solutions, securely storing and sharing important information was both confusing and burdensome, not to mention significantly more expensive. Hudu, on the other hand, provides me with a secure platform that is easy to share and can be scaled affordably.

 ### 16. Excellent Documentation Solution, highly customisable to our requirements and it just works.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David H. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu is always adapting and introducing new features that make documentation easier and simpler to access such as syncing documentation to Halo PSA.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I still don't think there is anything Hudu can do to improve.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enabling new users to quickly get to grips with client IT environments.
Accurately documenting clients IT environments.
Secure Password Manager.

 ### 17. Seamless Organization with Helpful Templates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark H. | Independent Business Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I appreciate the related items links, as they connect different elements together seamlessly. I also find the canned asset templates helpful, since they provide a structured way to organize information right from the start.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

At the moment, I don't fully understand how the backup or export feature works with the hosted instance option. I have some concerns about the safety of my data, since it seems that exports might not include all of the information we've entered into the system. It looks like we would need to switch to self-hosting in order to have complete control over our data.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the moment, it is assisting our team in documenting all the information we each have about our clients' IT environments. This allows us to share knowledge and insights with one another, which helps us provide better support to our clients.

 ### 18. Flexible Tool with Stellar Community Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cody . | Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I find Hudu very flexible to set up and use, which is a significant plus. They keep adding new features, which reflect the team's responsiveness to community feedback and feature requests. This adaptability and quick implementation of helpful additions enhance the overall experience.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

It would be nice to have the ability to enforce standards in documenting certain things like IP addresses and MAC addresses. Not all end users fill in text fields the same way, enforcing a standard would eliminate formatting issues. The initial setup was easy for us since we knew exactly how we wanted asset layouts to be designed, but it could be difficult for someone starting their documentation from scratch.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu standardizes documentation across our customer base and integrates with other platforms, solving consistency issues we faced with Sharepoint.

 ### 19. Good documentation platform that integrates with HaloPSA

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason C. | Principal Solutions Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Ability to embed is just what I needed. And a tight integration with our new PSA (HaloPSA). Looking forward to the improvements coming to the integration too! The product is overall very straightforward and easy to use, and support has been good.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

No network map functionality and limit concepts around "runbooks" or methodologies for organizing similar documentation into a series. Think of each KB as a chapter. We're missing the "book" functionality that brings those chapters together about a central topic (or book title).

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a central place to store documentation for ourselves around internal policies and procedures, and for our customers with respect to any special needs they may have that venture outside of the norm. This way any of our staff can support customers even if they haven't interacted with those customers before.

 ### 20. All-in-One IT Data Management Made Effortless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryan F. | Senior Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu excels at helping you organize your IT data in a single, easy-to-navigate environment. Whether you need to manage passwords or keep track of network racks, it truly offers everything you might require.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

If I could change one thing about Hudu, it would be the search feature. I really wish there were a unified search bar that could pull up everything related to a specific word. For instance, it would be great if we could tag firewalls and then find all firewall entries just by searching for that tag.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before switching to Hudu, we relied on a disorganized "wiki" page that made it difficult to find information. Transitioning to Hudu has truly transformed our workflow, as everything is now well-organized and easily accessible. Our employees are able to retrieve client information much more quickly than before.

 ### 21. Secure and Efficient IT Documentation Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phillip P. | Cyber Security Engineer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

We use Hudu to manage our IT documentation. It is excellent for securely storing documentation, passwords, and other sensitive data. The platform enables us to restrict access by IP address and also provides the ability to share passwords through timed links that automatically expire.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Sometimes we wish it was a bit most customisable, the menus are a bit rigid

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu primarily addresses the issue of scattered and inconsistent documentation. Previously, information was often disorganized or hidden in various random folders, making it difficult to locate what you needed quickly. With Hudu, everything is now stored in a single, well-organized location, allowing the entire team to access the right information immediately. This reduces unnecessary back-and-forth, saves time, and streamlines onboarding and handovers. Overall, it brings much-needed order to daily work.

 ### 22. Secure Client Info Storage with Effortless Team Collaboration

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jen Y. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

It’s an excellent tool for securely storing client information. Hudu also makes it easy for our team to collaborate and share details, whether we’re setting up new hires or passing along important information about clients.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I have no complaints about Hudu. As a project manager, I’ve been very happy with its functionality and how well it supports my day-to-day work.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securely storing and accessing critical information about clients and internal processes.

 ### 23. Documentation and notes... SECURED

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Its so important to us that this is ON PREM and not cloud so we can feel confident we own our data! Docker makes updates take seconds!

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

We have an issue logging in with MFA where sometimes it takes multiple tries. Support improved, but didnt ever fix this issue and have said its known to them.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu keeps our most critical information secure, while not making it annoying or hard for the right people to get access. It prevents Shadow IT because the tool is good enough that people use it properly.

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> Thanks for your thoughtful feedback! We’re glad Hudu’s security features and flexibility with on-prem hosting and modern authentication are working well for you.

Regarding the browser extension’s password save prompts, you can actually toggle that feature off in the extension’s settings. Let us know if you need any further help with this!

 ### 24. Hudu is the best Document Management/Asset Tracker

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas B. | Systems Administrator, Construction, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu is an excellent platform that offers both cloud hosting and self-hosting options. It allows you to easily create knowledge base articles, manage assets, track operations, and securely store passwords. The team is consistently introducing new features and, more importantly, is always striving to improve the product.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

There are better password browser extensions out there that leave Hudus to be desired. I think there photo storage could be better along with more granual user permissions.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a platform where were could store passwords, create and store KB articles, create assets, search for assets, and archive assets. We can also control who sees what so not everyone has access to everything.

 ### 25. Hudu is my top chose for MSP IT Documentation.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chadd M. | Advisor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu comes out of the box ready to use but also offers a lot of customization. Additionally, the customer support has been great and on-boarding was handled well. The primary reason I chose Hudu over other IT Documentation systems for my MSP was the fact that Hudu is independently owned rather than owned by one of the vendors who keeps buying up all MSP tool vendors.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

There are still several integrations with other IT systems that would be useful for Hudu, such as the ability to automate documentation from our asset management system.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu has helped greatly with standardizing the documentation of the IT systems for my MSP clients. It has also improved our password documentation and handeling processes.

 ### 26. Easy to use, easy to customize

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

We use Hudu as one of our main software, so everyday and multiple times a day. We can customize almost everything and it's very user friendly. There is also a lot of intergration options with a lot of different software, and it's pretty easy to setup. The customer service is great, we usually have fast answer for issues, and it's easy to request new feature and they actually listen to their customer.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Some feature requests take really long before being added. Also, since the software seems relatively "new" there is a lot of little "quality of life" changes that would need to be done, for instance being able to export a document directly in pdf with images, or having the images show up when we print a document.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a software where we could have all of our clients informations, wether it's documents, password or assets about their network and Hudu works pretty well for that.

**Official Response from Amy Burgess:**

> Thanks for your positive review! We love to hear that our customer service has been great for you - we truly strive for this. Our latest release fixed a bug with images not appearing with PDF exports and printing. We hope this solves that problem for you.

 ### 27. Secure, User-Friendly, and Highly Reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christina .

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I really like Hudu's password generator; it's very helpful for generating passwords when needed. It puts everything in one place with a very easy-to-use interface. I love that there's an on-premise version which allows us to save all of our infrastructure info on our hardware inside our network securely without outside internet connection. The simplicity and ease of use are fantastic. Unlike other software, we've had zero issues with Hudu in the ~2 years we've been using it; we haven't even needed to restart the Linux server it's running on. The search function is great, letting me use the documentation vault like Windows with the search bar. I also like how customizable it is, being able to add custom fields in assets or custom folders to sort things has been helpful. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I'm not really sure how to answer that as we haven't updated our Hudu instance since install. I'm sure there have been a ton of improvements in the last 2 years that I simply don't see because we haven't updated. Which I guess would be one thing is a "updating Hudu on Linux for dummies" document would be incredibly useful. We installed Hudu on a Linux VM for stability (and because that's what was recommended) but none of us here are very well-versed or comfortable with Linux CLI and so we just...haven't updated it.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu for documentation and password management. It centralizes everything easily and securely with an on-prem version, ensuring my infrastructure info is safely stored internally. Hudu's simplicity, search functionality, and customization options make it incredibly user-friendly and efficient for organizing information.

 ### 28. Centralized Solution for Documentation and Credentials

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack L.

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I really like how well Hudu combines documentation and credential management in one place, which makes it easy to link credentials to customers, assets, and KBs. This setup saves time during support and escalations by eliminating the need to jump between multiple systems. The straightforward interface makes it easy for engineers to find what they need, enhancing efficiency and reducing risk. Hudu's tight linking of documentation and credentials is valuable as it saves guesswork, improves efficiency, and makes the support process smoother. Additionally, using Hudu with Microsoft 365 SSO simplifies access management and improves security.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Some areas could be improved, particularly around search and navigation in larger environments, where finding specific items can sometimes take longer than expected. Initial setup and structure also require some upfront planning to get the most value, which can be a learning curve for new users.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu to solve password sprawl and fragmented documentation, linking credentials to customers and assets. It saves time during support, simplifies engineer workflows by centralizing access, and reduces risk with efficient documentation and credential management.

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> Hi Jack! Thanks for the awesome feedback. Search is something we're always looking to improve. We also appreciate you sharing your perspective on how the initial setup could be a learning curve to new customers. I encourage you to leave any specific feature requests at https://feedback.hudu.com on ways we can improve.

 ### 29. Phenomenal Magic Dash, Effortless Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Blake S. | Second Line Support Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I really think the Magic Dash is phenomenal and can't do without it! It allows you to map information pulled from API requests into visible data, which I find very useful. The easy access to 365 is a great feature, along with the custom field information that is mapped to simple color-coordinated tiles for quick glance information. This setup is super helpful for account management and billing tracking. I also appreciate that setting up Hudu initially took no time at all, thanks to the various online video resources and community guides. Switching from ITBoost to Hudu was a great decision because it provided us with all the features and integrations we needed.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I wish the Magic Dash was configurable outside of Powershell to make it easier to make visible changes before committing to publishing. The ability to integrate the Unifi UI API to allow Site Manager sites to be mappable to tenants instead of a single on-prem only.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu for automatic mapping from my PSA, network documentation, and easy access to Office 365 details. The Magic Dash configures to map API data, making it super helpful for account management and billing tracking.

 ### 30. Intuitive Formatting and Easy Linking, But Process Bugs Need Fixing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I don't have a lot of experience with competitors for knowledge bases, but our last platform was self-hosted and self-developed. I do like the ease of use and the ability to "relate" things to one another. The WYSIWYG formatting is intuitive and allows for much faster formatting than regular everyday tools. I also like the templates for processes and the process checkboxes.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

In a self-hosted Hudu environment I regularly encounter bugs when trying to edit or save Processes specifically. I can only make one change at a time before I have to refresh the page to re-edit and make another change. This process slows me down considerably. Trying to report this to support & to our team that manages the self-hosted environment never yielded any solutions.

That is by far my biggest complaint. Everything else works as it should.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu allowed us to put more time and effort towards our internal documentation. Hudu realisitically is only as good as what you put into it, and the tool stays relatively "out of sight" allowing you to stay focused on doing what matters most, making the centralized documentation.

Their website change monitoring also has allowed us to receive alerts on license expiries, certificate expiries, and more without having to manually track them. This has drastically cut down on interruptions due to missing a date on an asset. The best part, it extends to more than just websites. We also use it for hardware licensing.

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> Thanks for sharing your Hudu experience. We are working on a processes overhaul and I encourage you to reach out to support again directly at https://feedback.hudu.com.

 ### 31. Effortless IT Asset Management with Hudu

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias J. | CISO, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I like using Hudu for its features that allow me to share passwords securely and have automated expiration trackers with notifications whenever needed. It's great to be able to relate different assets to each other, which really saves me a lot of time by having all my assets and relevant information in one place. It's also very easy to share this information with my colleagues and external partners. I find Hudu really easy to set up, which was a great advantage when we moved from ITGLUE. Hudu is more enjoyable and useful, with a better API. I also appreciate the fast-paced development and quick responses to feature requests from the community.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Nothing really..

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu helps us collect all our knowledge about our IT infrastructure and customers' IT infrastructures in one place, documenting everything from processes to IPAM. This centralization enables easy access to information and saves time in daily operations.

 ### 32. Cost-Effective IT Documentation with Room to Grow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John I. | President & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I use Hudu for IT documentation for our MSP, and it really helps in keeping important information in one place, making access easy. I appreciate the platform's ease of use and customization, which allows us to structure our documentation exactly how we want. The ecosystem of integrations is a major plus too, as most of our existing tools are compatible with it. The integrations with our tools make it easy to update documentation without manually adding information about devices and assets. Their online knowledge base is really great, and they offer webinars to go over modules within the Hudu platform. Hudu being more cost-effective compared to IT Glue, and not being controlled by private equity, was an appealing factor, as it made the transition to Hudu a no-brainer. Lastly, the platform was easy to use overall, even though it took some time to move our data over and set everything up.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

The platform can be a bit daunting to start on a blank slate. The terminology they use in documentation is a bit different than other competitors, and it takes time to understand that and create a structure that works for you and your organization.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu for IT documentation, centralizing important info for easy access. Its ease of use and customization let us structure our documentation how we want, and integrations with our tools automate updates, saving time on adding device and asset info.

 ### 33. Effortless Documentation Management, Stellar Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley H. | Head of Managed Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I use Hudu as our day-to-day documentation management platform and asset management. I like how it consolidates all our customer documentation in a centralized location, which helps organize our info better. It's quick, simple, and customizable, with great integrations and amazing support. Speed is incredibly important in an MSP environment, and with Hudu, saving even a few seconds on each search makes a big difference throughout the day. The ability to customize setups and documentation for different customers is crucial for us. The initial setup was super easy, and the team was a great help throughout the process. It's the perfect alternative to what I used before.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

We love Hudu, not many downsides but more integrations wouldn't hurt the experience

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu consolidates all our customer documentation in a central location, improving organization. It's quick and customizable, crucial for different customer setups, and speed in an MSP environment. The support is amazing.

 ### 34. Self-Hosted Documentation Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan L.

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I use Hudu for internal and client IT documentation and password management. It helps with strong password management, and I appreciate the permissioned sharing of documentation and passwords, as well as the organization. The ability to integrate with our other systems is also very beneficial. I really like the ability to self-host, which makes compliance easy since we can be quickly reactive to cyber threats and don't need to worry about vendor certifications for compliance needs. The initial setup of Hudu was very easy, taking only a day. Overall, it's a great tool.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I think Hudu could have stronger subcompany/site support. Right now they do not have much in the realm of shared templates between sites or the ability to make entire sites from templates, which would be helpful for large companies with many similar sites. Sites currently are treated like independent companies for the most part.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu for IT documentation and password management. It helps with strong password management, permissioned sharing of documentation and passwords, organization, and integration with our other systems.

 ### 35. Documentation Heaven!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bernard E. | Owner/President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu Docs has completely transformed the way we manage and share documentation. Its intuitive interface and powerful integrations make organizing knowledge effortless. The platform’s reliability and customization options have made it an indispensable tool in my workflow.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I have yet to find something I dislike about Hudu.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu solves the problem of scattered and inconsistent documentation by centralizing knowledge in a structured, easily accessible platform. This has significantly improved my team's efficiency, reduced onboarding time, and ensured critical information is always up to date and at our fingertips.

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> Thanks so much for the kind words - we appreciate you taking the time to share!

 ### 36. Intuitive UI and Admin Portal Backed by Great Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I like how intuitive the UI and administration portal is. The documentation is great also and helps me get through any task I have questions about

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I don't like how limited Hudu is when it comes to expirations. Manual expirations can be hard to keep up with. Auto discovery for this would be a nice addition

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a documentation platform and Hudu does that very well.

 ### 37. More Than Just a Password Manager

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** emmanuel@safenetsol.com T. | Technical Support Specialist - Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu is our firm's password management system, but it is more than just an app to save passwords. You can create companies, knowledge base articles, pictures, and more. We use it to integrate it with other applications like CyberQP and HaloPSA.

The interface is user-friendly, and their support team is knowledgeable and prompt in responding.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I do not like the Chrome extension. I had to delete it after some time. It was too invasive, always getting in the way when I tried to use the web.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage shared accounts that need MFA, and Hudu allows us to generate OTP codes that any user can access, without tying them to a specific device.

**Official Response from Natalie Isbell:**

> Thank you for the review! I'm happy to hear you're enjoying Hudu and have had a positive experience with our support team. We appreciate the feedback on the browser extension as well.

 ### 38. Centralized Documentation and Integration Tool with Room for Stability Improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Callum A.

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I like Hudu for several reasons. The API is great for pulling data into other apps, like feeding company information into our ticketing system. The SSO feature is really convenient, allowing all our users to sign in securely with just one button. Magic Dashes are awesome; they serve as dashboards that compile all company services and quick links. I've found the knowledge base articles useful, especially since you can attach full video files and link assets. The CIPP integration is really handy, bringing in all PCs from InTune and pulling all users from 365, plus Hudu version tracks these changes so we can review past versions if needed.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I find the stability of the app problematic, as it tends to crash sometimes and requires the container to be rebooted. Also, it would be nice if Hudu had a built-in ticketing system. We're a small MSP, and implementing larger ticketing systems is difficult for us due to financial or resource constraints. A ticketing system built into Hudu that we could link KBs or assets to would be ideal. The initial setup is pretty simple but requires Linux knowledge if you're self-hosting.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu to centralize documentation and auto-update information, which is easier than our previous SharePoint setup. It integrates well with other systems, pulling data for dashboards and applications, and offers handy knowledgebase articles with video and asset links.

 ### 39. A great alternative to IT Glue, cost effective, no long contracts, good support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | Head of IT, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

The platform is very comparable to the likes of IT Glue, which I've used previously, and yet the pricing model avoids long and pricing contracts, is competitive, and the support team are response to issues.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Overall, I like the platform very much, there are some minor improvements that could be carried out, primarily around the use of dropdowns and primary fields. For example, when creating a new record under a flexible asset, the first field is awkward, you can select from a drop down but after save the drop-down doesn't reappear which is frustrating.

It also has integration with UniFi, but doesn't seem to work with cloud controllers, which is quite a disappointment. We have on-prem controllers that we can sync to the cloud, but this doesn't seem to work sadly.

Another improvement would be a better alert system with more customised workflows, i.e. trigger for XYZ, unless X.

Overall though, these things are minor, and I like the platform.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed somewhere central to document our IT setup, but having previously used IT Glue, we wanted something with relationships mapping but without the hefty 3 year contracts, this is exactly what Hudu has provided us.

 ### 40. A well-designed, security-first documentation platform built for MSPs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob J. | Director, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu is extremely easy to use day to day. The interface is clean, fast, and logical, so engineers can find what they need quickly, even under pressure. Implementation was straightforward, with clear documentation and sensible defaults that allowed us to structure client data properly from the start.

We make extensive use of SSO, and Hudu integrates cleanly into our existing identity and security stack. The flexibility of the platform stands out; assets, relationships, passwords, and documentation can all be tailored to match real-world environments rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all approach. Feature-wise, Hudu strikes a strong balance between depth and usability without becoming bloated.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Some integrations require additional configuration or external tooling rather than being fully native, and certain advanced features benefit from prior planning to get the most value from them. Reporting and automation could be expanded further, but these are areas of evolution rather than fundamental gaps.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu solves the problem of inconsistent, fragmented documentation across teams and clients. It provides a secure, centralised source of truth that is used daily by our engineers. This has reduced reliance on tribal knowledge, improved onboarding, and shortened incident resolution times.

From a business perspective, the combination of ease of use, strong feature set, secure access via SSO, and solid integrations allows us to scale confidently while maintaining consistent service quality and security standards.

 ### 41. Effortlessly Secure Documentation, Needs More Innovation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason M. | Chief Executive Officer

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I use Hudu as a documentation tool for our MSP, and I really appreciate how it's incredibly simple and customizable. I find it very easy to store client information securely and access it whenever needed. The streamlined integration between our PSA and the documentation tool is fantastic, and I love that I can easily create and share KB articles. The integrations with Ninja RMM, Intune, CIPP, and HaloPSA work really well, making it easy to have all our documentation stored in one place. The initial setup was also very easy.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I would like to see more innovation in Hudu. The product has been static for a while. More integrations, more features, AI agents, and reporting could all be worked on.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu to store client information securely and access it easily. It streamlines integration between PSA and documentation, making it simple to create and share KB articles. Its ease of use and customizability, along with seamless integrations, simplify storing documentation in one place.

 ### 42. Centralizes IT Documentation Seamlessly

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Terry B. | Senior Infrastructure Engineer

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I love how easy Hudu is to use, and everything's built with IT teams in mind. The asset relationships feature is super handy, allowing for linking of everything together, which makes sense and saves time when trying to understand how services and systems work together or just to find information quickly. It's very simple to set up, and the authentication integrations were well-documented, so setup was easy. Hudu allows us to store, keep, and access our technical and non-end-user IT information and documentation consistently and organized in a single location rather than scattered through multiple platforms. It prevents us from losing track of important information; everything is now in one place, easy to find, use, and update.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

The Microsoft 365 integration could use some filtering, right now it pulls in all users, even disabled ones, which isn't ideal, clutters things up, and makes it harder to search and manage. It'd be awesome if the sync let us filter by user type and status so we don't end up with service accounts or disabled users cluttering things. Having control over what metadata syncs and including things like Entra groups, shared mailboxes, and resources would make the integration way more useful. Also, being able to map synced users and groups into different asset layouts would give us much better structure.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu allows us to organize IT documentation in one place, preventing loss and improving accessibility. It consolidates information previously scattered across emails, notes, and memories, making it easy to find, use, and update.

 ### 43. Effortless Migration and Exceptional Support from Hudu

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean G. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I appreciate that Hudu is actively developed with published roadmaps, and the team is small enough to care about their clients. Our feedback is heard, and they react, which is awesome. I find it super flexible, allowing us to use it in the way that works best for us without being locked into a rigid framework. The API integrations work well and allow us deeper integration with our PSA and RMM toolsets. Also, there's a large supportive community beyond just the Hudu folks that's very helpful. The migration was pretty painless, and setup was a snap with the help of an available script. I absolutely recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

It would be nice if 'out of the box' it had some additional asset layout types that we can setup and learn from. I would think some tighter built-in integration with tools like Domotz would be helpful, but I don't have a specific thing to point at. It's been mostly 'set it and forget it' with some exceptions as we work through new things we want to track and building new layouts to support them.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu centralizes our client and internal documentation, allowing constant, consistent access for our technical staff without the need for constant personal information-sharing. It ensures that client information is accessible even during absences, preventing dependency on a single team member.

 ### 44. Indispensable Knowledge Base with Impressive Updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott C.

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I rely on Hudu as the main knowledge base repository for all our client's information and our internal processes and procedures documentation. I appreciate its excellent password sharing feature, which is easy to use, very secure, and configurable with additional security settings like onetime use and expirations. I like how all its features work well, and I'm impressed with the amount and frequency of good updates, features, and fixes in their release cycles. The related items feature is great for creating a web of clickable links that allow me to easily navigate between related information with single clicks. I find it dependable, as we use it all day and rarely encounter issues. Its integration with our RMM/PSA tool, SyncroMSP, works well too. Setup was pretty easy for us with the ability to import spreadsheets, which facilitated moving existing client information and our internal knowledge base over. And switching from ITglue to Hudu made us happy right from the start.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

There is really not much that comes to mind. It is solid and just does what we need it to do.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu as a single source of truth for client assets and internal documentation, and its password sharing is easy and secure. The related items feature helps us navigate effortlessly, enhancing our knowledge management.

 ### 45. Centralizes Documentation Efficiently with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Logan R.

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I primarily use Hudu for the password manager tools, and some of my favorite features are the OTP when creating a password and how well the integration is when inputting data from other companies, MSPs, and Excel sheet migration. Some of my favorite aspects of Hudu are the customization on the dashboard, which makes it convenient to have one place to find links for recent uses or statistics quickly, and we can review month to month. It helps me by having my favorite passwords and assets accessible when needed without having to go through the company to find them. Also, using and maintaining the expiring-soon tab helps our techs stay on top of password renewals. The initial setup was seamless, and the techs were swift in support and response. Everything, when setting up the billing, was also easy to follow.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I feel like the Hudu Chrome Extension could be improved by adding a walkthrough-style tutorial to explain how it works in our day-to-day. At first, it took time to understand two things: the difference between my vault and company vault, and how to access/create passwords for the company or my personal vault. We've faced challenges when adding new techs to our Hudu cloud portal. Sometimes the emails wouldn't send, and it would take significant time to get our techs' accounts working. The creation on the admin side is good. The way of adding new users could be explained via step-by-step instructions. We use Atera as our ticketing software, and migrating companies from Atera to Hudu, especially the passwords, was insufferable because there was no easy way to populate them.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu to centralize documentation and manage passwords efficiently, solving access issues for our SOPs. The dashboard customization and integration with other tools streamline our processes, making it easier to access favorite passwords and assets while keeping our team informed.

 ### 46. Highly Recommended Platform to handle Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I appreciate the versatility and useability of Hudu. I was able to import all of our previous data with no issues. You can create a parent company, and have child companies underneath it. The ability to create custom assets with whatever fields you want is great. I love the fact that there's a built in temporary share function where I can send credentials out and decide when the link expires. Customer support has always been helpful with whatever issues come up. I use it daily. I have integrated with our RMM to pull over assets, and it was very easy. The price is great, with no minimum users.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

While there's a function to have "view only" portal members, each portal member can only be allowed to view one company. This causes difficulty in that if you needed a user to be able to view more than one company they would have to have separate logins. From my understanding this is a requested feature that may be resolved in the future.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure Documentation. Password Management and Sharing. Asset Management.

 ### 47. Streamlined Documentation with Easy Setup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I like how customizable Hudu is, and I like how simple the interface is. It makes it easier with new employees who haven't used Hudu before, and it just makes it easy to quickly navigate the platform to find what you're looking for. I also like Hudu's documentation much better than past experiences. It feels like I have more control over it, and it's nice to have documentation in the same platform as my passwords rather than separate like they were before.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I would like to be able to edit the default asset layouts on the left-hand side in each company. I know I can add custom ones below those, but I would like to be able to fully edit the entire left sidebar.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu for client passwords, documentation, and internal processes. It solves the problem of having passwords and documentation in different locations. It's convenient to have everything together, making it easier for new employees to navigate.

 ### 48. Clean, Speedy, but Needs Feature Enhancements

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I really like Hudu's clean and simple design, which includes a lot of useful features. The platform is also stable and fast, which is a big plus for me. The initial setup was very easy. Compared to Confluence, Hudu is the opposite—it's not buggy, slow, featureless, or complicated.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

I find the Markdown support lacking. The copy page button could be improved. The sign-in session expiration is passive, leading to annoying errors on every login timeout. There's no SCIM support. It lacks a public-facing Knowledge Base, which I wish would be more like GitBook. The API isn't fully featured, missing the $select field. Some of the UI has unexpected search limitations, and the main search bar often isn't optimal. I can't save articles directly in some folders, and I wish there were colors for folders and drag-and-drop folder order.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Hudu for KB and Asset documentation, which helps in organizing company information efficiently.

 ### 49. The Only Documentation System Worth Considering

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

Hudu’s stability and speed are exceptional. The platform responds instantly, no matter how much data we push into it, and its architecture feels purpose-built for MSP scale. The integration engine is industry-leading. We can pull data from Microsoft 365, Liongard, our RMM, and custom sources, then stack everything inside consolidated asset types that make sense for our workflow. Hudu gives us complete control over how documentation flows into the system, which is a dramatic upgrade from the rigid, cluttered structure we had in IT Glue. The API and automation capabilities are first-class, and the PowerShell module makes everything even easier. Combined with a clean UI, customizable branding, and a well-designed client portal, the platform strikes the perfect balance of power and simplicity.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

Honestly, nothing significant. If anything, we find ourselves wanting even more modules to automate, because everything that exists works so well. The platform is growing quickly, so the things we would normally list as feature requests are already on their roadmap. They move fast and deliver consistently.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu is solving documentation sprawl, inconsistent data, and time wasted updating multiple systems. By consolidating assets and stacking integration data, our engineers now have a single version of truth for each device, tenant, or system. Everything is synced, everything is searchable, and everything is fast. The platform improves customer visibility, strengthens our internal processes, and gives us confidence that our documentation reflects the real world at all times. It’s also eliminated friction during onboarding and migration work, since writing documentation is no longer a bottleneck.

 ### 50. Good Integrations, But Needs Search and UI Improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elliot M.

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Hudu?**

I really appreciate Hudu's consolidation of knowledge and its easy-to-use knowledge base and article/asset tracking. The many integrations and API capabilities are great for building what doesn't exist currently. I like the quarterly update schedule where new features are added, and it's great that they actively look at and work on suggestions submitted in the roadmap. It's easy to suggest features or report bugs/UI issues, and it's comforting to know that other users can upvote and comment on these issues. The initial setup for self-hosting was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Hudu?**

The search really sucks, and the articles not having a tree view creates a situation where you don't want to use folders because it's all nested, and you are unable to find articles due to the search being a little broke, which leads us to stubbing out all the articles in the parent folder, or creating a custom script that creates a table of contents. Their export of the companies does also not include the KB articles, only custom assets.

**What problems is Hudu solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hudu consolidates our knowledge efficiently, making it easy to use as a knowledge base with article and asset tracking. The integrations and API allow for building custom solutions where needed.
