This program offers a wide range of incredible automated features, including the ability to design, edit, merge files, insert data, and much more. **What do you dislike about LeaderGuide Pro?** Processing emails and sending bulk messages can be laborious and time-consuming at times. This software has a plethora of options for graphics and design and the options are endless. **What do you dislike about LeaderGuide Pro?** It definitely is a software you need to work with before launching to staff or for a meticulous project. It is quite pricey and lastly there has been some issues with the download quality. **What problems is LeaderGuide Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** My expierence from using LeaderGuide Pro has entailed easy updates. Instead of using multiple tables and contents, we are able to make master documents with this software. ### 4. Then, you can synch the pages from the participants guide with the LeaderGuide, so the instructor knows what page the students are on at all times. **What do you dislike about LeaderGuide Pro?** The numbering of a demonstration and how you have to reformat it, if you insert a graphic. **Recommendations to others considering LeaderGuide Pro:** Take the time to go through the training videos or take a training course. It will save you in valuable time. **What problems is LeaderGuide Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** When one of our consultants is new to a class or to the material, it is imperative they have as much information as possible to run a successful class. By adding notes and things for the instructor to say, they are more confident with their role. By doing so, you create more pages in the instructor guide than in the participants' guide. If you only use Word, then you have essentially to manuals that have to be kept in sync, when something changes. By using LearderGuide Pro Plus, you no longer have two manuals to worry about. ### 5. The process should be as simple as "clipping" or "cutting" and then pasting in the location. **Recommendations to others considering LeaderGuide Pro:** I recommend you watch the video tutorials and practice before you start on an actual document. **What problems is LeaderGuide Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** I create facilitator guides for our instructor intensive courses. This is a benefit to us because a different instructor may have to step in and teach. ### 6. See my response to "What business problems are you solving?" below. LeaderGuide Pro is *very* customizable, and new releases introduce more and more customization features. You can use the software to create multiple "collections," or templates, per your or your clients' branding/preferences. You can touch just about everything - even the interface (the program's look and feel). Great Circle Learning (the vendor) is extremely responsive and helpful. **What do you dislike about LeaderGuide Pro?** The learning curve can be steep for novice Microsoft Word users without help, and the price could be high for a single self-employed user. **Recommendations to others considering LeaderGuide Pro:** Go with the subscription license. You'll be able to upgrade as soon as new versions and any patches are released, and each version adds so much new functionality that you really don't want to miss a single one. Great Circle Learning listens to its users and updates always include features or improvements that every-day users of the product suggested. Take advantage of GCL's outstanding customer service and their offers for one-on-one conversation. They're not just there to help you when you get stuck - they offer advice, suggest the best way to tackle a project, and often give tips and tricks that save tons of time. Of course they know their own product, but they also know Microsoft products and can recommend best practices that will inform your work outside of LeaderGuide Pro. **What problems is LeaderGuide Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have multiple audiences who take classes structured around the same content (we do application training). Examples, sequence, level of detail vary, but the core content is the same. Before we had LeaderGuide Pro, we had created and were maintaining individual instructor and participant guides for each class; we had multiple people making the exact same change to multiple documents each time the content needed to be updated. We saw heavy cost in terms of time and quality, and a very obvious lack of consistency. The biggest benefit we've seen has come from using LeaderGuide Pro's extraction functionality. We create a master document for major topics in our curriculum that contain all of the examples, details, notes, etc. for each audience in one place. We update this single source when the content requires changes. We archive these master documents and then build our classes from the parts, extracting only what's required for a single audience (and leaving the rest untouched in the master document). The instructor and participant guides are always up to date and in sync, and we've streamlined the materials maintenance to a bare minimum, which means our resources are freed up to do other work. ### 7. As we have expressed issues and requests for enhancements to enable us to work smarter and faster the team at Great Circle Learning takes action and adds them to the product roadmap. Tech Support and training is always responsive and gets me moving forward again quickly. **What problems is LeaderGuide Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** We moved from PowerPoint slide notes, you know, two images per page, to a clean and well organized document with appropriate level of detail for the instructor, and similarly appropriate (a sub-set) detail for the student. It literally takes 3 minutes to extract the instructor guide and create a student guide. Our customers/students really like the new format, they can find information more quickly and believe the books will be more useful as a reference following the training. ### 8. I also love the create a custom collection feature. It allows you to create a customized look for your company. You can brand the cover page, pre-format the "how to" and acknowledgement pages as well as the graphic cues that fit best for your company or purpose. Once that is done everyone can use that template to create their leader guide or participant guide. There is no question of what to do, what font to use, what the layout should be it's all done with your collection. **What do you dislike about LeaderGuide Pro?** The software, like a lot of software, can get a little glitchy when you have to update your Microsoft version or Window's version. It works itself out but can take a little time or email to Great Circle Learning for help. Also, every once and awhile my screen will blur out when I have multiple documents open. I usually have to close a few and then it clears up. **What problems is LeaderGuide Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** I spent a few months using Word templates and quick parts to create leader guides. I had a 100 page document that I needed to refer to on how to create a leader guide for the company that I was working for. I was working with a team of several instructional designers and we all interpreted the Word templates different. For me, LGP would have saved a TON of time. Not only could they have created a custom collection so there was never a concern about fonts, colors or logos but the block inserts replace the need to work in tables. If you have worked with tables you know they are a large pain. LGP uses tables but is so smartly programmed that it automatically splits your table whey you are the end of page. Plus it easily updates the table of contents with a click of a button. ### 9. Efficient Classroom Based Training Content Management Tool **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Abbie C. | Consultant, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2016 **What do you like best about LeaderGuide Pro?** Ability for trainers to create the base material in the form of Power Points and corresponding notes, which the majority of trainers are familiar with and from that, create a Trainers Guide in MS Word, which can be updated on a module basis and from which a participant guide can also be extracted. The templates can be customized and the resulting documents look very professional and are consistently formatted. The level of customer support and service from LGP is exceptional. In my experience LGP are happy to help with any issues regarding LPG, whether it's you figuring something out or work arounds for MS Word issues. They also have various support documents and videos. **What do you dislike about LeaderGuide Pro?** Setting up the templates and figuring out how to set everything up so content updates are optimized is a steep learning curve and time consuming, but worth it. MS Word by its nature is just a little kludgy so consequently LGP has a few 'apparent' glitches, which are often down to MS Word. **Recommendations to others considering LeaderGuide Pro:** Be prepared to spend a reasonable amount of time setting up the templates as you require so any documentation fits with your company brand. Have one or a couple of people focused on templates and putting together the guides and performing the updates and content administration. Leave the subject matter experts to generate the content in PPT form. **What problems is LeaderGuide Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?** I work as a Training Consultant and a customer had a requirement to generate trainer and participant guides for classroom based training. That would help to ensure the same content for a subject was being taught by all the trainers and provide professional training material. Majority of content was PPT based, so in order to not recreate the wheel some software was needed to import PPT (as created by SME's) to create professional trainer guides with additional exercises and guidance notes and from these generate training guides. We also needed to be able to update the PPT's and regenerate the guides efficiently. LGP is that software, it is relativity inexpensive, uses MS Word which most people are familiar with and allows you to house the entire content for one course in a document (or set of modules) from which sections can be extracted for other manuals as required in a matter of minutes. Whilst I'm not currently using the software today, should I have a client with a similar requirement I would return to it. ### 10.
