**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avnish K. | T, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I really like the ability to get insights on the projects I create on Gem and the convince of sending various sequences at a time.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I dislike that it breaks sometimes and I am unable to download the resumes from LI to Gem. It's no big deal though it's the case with every app or software. It breaks once in a while.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Try it out and it will help you source candidates quickly and manage pipelines for future roles.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me stay organized and save time by sending a bulk of messages at a time.

 ### 3. Great product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like how automated it is and the metric tools Gem provides.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The linkedin inmail feature, you cannot include links when sending an inmail so I hope that gets figured out soon

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How my messages are sent and how they come across to candidates. An added benefit is not having to manually send out these messages and find email addresses

 ### 4. Still Growing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like the idea of Gem and what they are going for. I like the way you can set up reminders to follow up with candidates and keep notes on their replies. I enjoy the tracking Gem has - how many messages sent, how many opened, replied, and rate of interest. It's helpful to know if your messaging is working or not.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Reliable emails aren't always available, which can be frustrating, especially when candidates opt-out of InMails on LinkedIn, making that not an option. We are unable to use education or work emails so those aren't a great option.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Customer Support has been great. They hear feedback and implement changes. They strive to be helpful. Emails aren't always available, but other than that, it has been beneficial.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is helping us reach more people than we could via LinkedIn. It also allows us to send more than one message to potential candidates, so we don't need to follow up with everyone individually. Overall, it is helpful to keep track of candidate messaging.

 ### 5. So far my experience with Gem has been great.Such a great tool to have as a recruiter

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** May 03, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

How easy it is to set sequencing and track your reach-outs

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

No issues all concerns, I like everything about Gem

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Speed up sequencing processes.

 ### 6. Amazing experience!

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Less work for me because I don´t have to worry about sending constant emails.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometimes the GEM extension can be a little slow ad doesn´t load all the information.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Constant reach outs to a huge amount of people and being able to access their contact info.

 ### 7. I think this is a great format

 ### 8. The best recruiting tech yet

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordan S. | Mentor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem has multiple products which are all beneficial in their own way but I would say the best part for me and my team's needs has been the pipeline analytics report. It's easy to use, filter, and understand what you're looking at. And best of all it allows us to breakdown the pipeline and pass-through rates by demographics which has been instrumental to our ability to set meaningful diversity recruiting OKRs this year.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I do wish there was an easy way to link an outreach project to an open role in Greenhouse so that a hiring manager or really anyone can quickly see how the current candidate pipeline looks and how the outreach is going all in one place. I am also looking forward to have Gem integrate with other platforms outside of LinkedIn.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

There are a lot of tools out there but Gem combines automation and analytics in a way that's easy to navigate and share with stakeholders. I highly recommend.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Increasing efficiency and productivity of the existing team by automating our outreach efforts and also being to track how we're doing towards our diversity recruiting goals.

 ### 9. Life Changing Tool - Essential for Recruiting Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kim R. | Associate Program Manager, People & Talent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is an incredibly user friendly product! Gem software allows our team to be super efficient by helping us automate tasks, stay in touch with talent, and also helps us understand our recruiting performance through data. Our recruiters think of Gem as an essential tool that help them get their work done efficiently. The tool is also intuitive to learn! Gem also has a superb customer success team - they've helped us onboard effectively and provide quality support when we have questions about the product.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I honestly can't think of anything that I dislike about the product! If I could think of anything, I would say that Gem could improve it's user interface around how we can organizing reports - perhaps by creating folders or other options to be able to organize our saved reports.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Those who are interested in Gem, I highly recommend! It integrates with your ATS, and provides so many data insights that our ATS can't. Our team's way of working has been improved for the better!

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is a critical tool for us as we develop, understand, and evolve our recruiting strategy. The data & analytics that Gem provides directly informs our company goals and strategy. We look to Gem to understand if we're tracking to our hiring goals, it helps identify any bottlenecks in our hiring process, it helps us understand where we should invest more time and resources, and much more. This tool truly transforms how we work - we work intelligently and swiftly like never before. Gem has transformed how we nurture talent at scale, and it is an essential tool in our recruiting tech stack!

 ### 10. Highly recommend - my favorite sourcing tool across the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan V. | Sr. Talent Associate - Technical, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Building data bases as well as out reach analytics to become a data driven recruiting team really helps inform our strategies. Not to mention, the outreach email function has been highly impactful across technical recruiting for engineers, product, and design. There's a good build out on using and recycling formerly sourced candidates within the system to create and re-engage with people over time for a nurture.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Not a dislike, but could improve the LinkedIn and gem sourcing workflow given how some people's sourcing workflows and markets are in LI vs. emailing.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Consider this tool if your company is at a stage where you're looking into recruiting analytics and top funnel outreach analytics to inform hiring strategy.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Top of funnel conversion rates - it's been difficult to engage and convert passive engineering, product and design talent. But this tool has improved that since with the outreach style of the tool.

 ### 11. Gem is a Recruiting power-tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt M. | CEO & Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem empowers our team to work from LinkedIn profiles, straight through an initial Email outreach, and straight into cadenced Campaigns of their design. All in one place, with no interference from other systems. Projects keep the work organized, with a campaign history that helps build context. Dashboards allow us to report on requisitions well before our long-tracked Interview conversion history, which is helpful. Overall, with Gem our team is more productive than ever!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Gem is working towards stronger API integrations, which will help us once completed. Ownership Rules, while there and effective, could use some strengthening to balance overlap for a big team. Email Discovery, while awesome and quite thorough, leaves some old company Emails around that are clearly defunct from a simple LinkedIn glance. Some settings that we wished existed, don't seem to – small things like turning off popups in Gmail windows.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Email discovery – vs arcane API solutions without Gmail coverage. Initial Email outreach – vs disorganized Gmail or Outlook. Cadenced Email campaigns – basically "the Outreach.io for recruiting teams". Dashboards to provide conversion data before entering the Interview funnel.

 ### 12. Best Recruiting Software Available!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor W. | Lead Recruiter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem makes sourcing and tracking seamless! I like the ability to create unique outreach sequences that can be sent by yourself or on behalf of a hiring manager. In addition, I can automate almost all of my outreach too. Lastly, they have a great set of dashboards to understand how your sourcing efforts are performing across a recruiting team and particular roles.

I work on a recruiting team of 1, and it's made my life significantly easier with automating our sourcing efforts and allowing me to focus more on candidate experience and ultimately closing more candidates.

I first started using Gem as an early adopter when they were branded as Zensourcer, and will continue using their software!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Nothing to be honest. They're constantly updating and adding new features to the platform that make a Recruiter/Sourer's job more efficient.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

I highly recommend Gem, especially if you're working at a startup with a lean recruiting team. It will help eliminate painstaking time with tracking sourced candidates and performing manual reach outs.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is helping me solve SOURCING! I work at a startup that gets very little inbound candidates for roles, so I have to rely on a robust recruiting platform to help track and automate my candidate outreach. Gem does that and more.

 ### 13. The best candidate management tool available on the market!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kerri M. | Global Head of Talent, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem is an absolutely incredible platform to use for managing candidates. The ability to send sequences to candidates with email & link tracking, as well as being able to pre-schedule follow-ups is a game-changer for improving your sourcing metrics. Not only can you use Gem to manage all of the passive candidates you reach out to, it also has the ability to house incoming candidates from marketing campaigns which makes it super easy to cross-check duplicate candidates with zero effort. The reporting capabilities that comes with Gem is robust and has helped our team redefine our recruiting strategy based on the data we collect, and the ability to integrate it with almost any system has improved our speed tremendously.

The user interface for Gem is clean and incredibly intuitive. It's very easy to learn if you've never worked with a candidate management tool, or even an ATS for that matter. I really love how focused Gem is on the candidate experience and it has multiple ways it makes sure no candidate gets spammed (you can even set limits for the number of emails a user can send out or for how many a candidate can receive per day!).

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I am a firm believer that nothing is perfect and there is always room for improvement (I rarely ever give perfect 10's!) but I honestly cannot think of anything that I dislike about Gem. If we ever find something that is missing or needs improvement, the Gem team takes our feedback and is always modifying or improving things to better help our process. The email finder may not be the most powerful one, but it has continued to improve over time

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What problem haven't we solved with Gem!? Gem has helped us clean-up our extensive candidate database so much - we have used the projects to organize our talent pipelines by seniority and skillset which saves the team a ton of time when they start sourcing on a new role. The ability to set multiple follow-ups in a sequence showed us the benefit of using multiple emails to increase your response rate and it is something we do consistently when starting new reach-out sequences.

 ### 14. Gem is a life saver!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassie C. | Head of Recruiting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

- It is easy to use, the analytics is better than our ATS.
- Setting up and sending sequences is super easy!
- The outreach statistics is extremely helpful!
- My team loves the slack integration for weekly updates of where candidates are in the process.
- My leadership team also likes the ability to breakdown our prospective candidates by gender and race/ethnicity. This helps with our mission to make our workplace more representative.
- The customer service and my customer rep is super responsive. If I have any issues, they are quick to respond!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

- I'd like for more accurate email addresses, but for the most part, it's pretty good!
- The UI could look a bit better, but it's clean and does the job.
- There are certain geographical regions that Gem has a harder time finding email addresses, so it would be beneficial for Gem to locate databases within these regions (Canada for example).
- The resume review workflow could be a bit easier to use, if it encouraged the hiring manager to get through the reviews faster, or didn't have to click open the linkedin profiles for every candidate.
- Sometimes the analytics are spotty. I've had to reach out to customer service to re-map our Greenhouse data because some candidates were missing.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Automation is the biggest component of why we use Gem!
- Souring is still manual, but Gem has saved countless hours of follow up emails and email discovery!
- Sending on behalf of is such a valuable tool. We have achieved higher response rates because we are sending on behalf of our leadership team.
- We can have our entire team involved in sourcing and actively looking

 ### 15. My Team Loves Gem

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Evan I. | Engineering Leadership Hiring, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love the fact that EVERYTHING sourcing is in one place. Since there's a lot of data points involved in outreach, open rates, etc., you'd think the data dashboards would be confusing. It's the opposite. Anyone who has access to Gem can easily notice trends and use the org's outreach data to make data-driven decisions moving forward. Also, Gem is built into our sourcing/recruiting team's natural workflow, so there aren't any major extra steps we have to take to use this technology.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I really don't have anything specific that I dislike about Gem.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're solving the problem of making data driven decisions. When to outreach, which outreach gets the best responses, how many people has each team member outreached to compared to others. There are a lot of benefits because opening up this info gives us perspective on how much we are doing (or not doing) on a daily basis and let's our org set better and more realistic outreach/hiring goals moving forward.

 ### 16. Gem has been an absolute breeze to get started and use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Onboarding is super easy.
The chrome extension gets you the email address of almost anyone on LinkedIn.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Some functions such as manually crafting an email to the candidates is not so intuitive.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching out to potential hires.

 ### 17. Easy to use, consolidates the info.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isabel M. | Talent Researcher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The most helpful is the fact that you can link it with Linkedin and have the stats about the different process your working on.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The fact that when I upload the CSV on the GEM projects it takes a while to load all the information.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Take the GEM training, its a lot of information and is good to know all the features and tools it has.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm optimizing my time, doing bulk messages and reach outs. I can invest more time in other tasks rather than doing a lot of operational work.

 ### 18. Great Email Automation Tool with Potential

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like using Gem to integrate candidates from LinkedIn to Lever seamlessly. Their email sequences are very intuitive as well.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I would be great if you were able to source profiles through their platform as well.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Take advantage of any training and take time to explore the application

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Seemless candidate integration into ATS and automated email sequences

 ### 19. Gem makes recruiting reach outs much easier and efficient.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trey O. | Sr Talent Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like creating projects and unique sequences. I also like how easy it is to copy a sequence to create a new unique one.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I don't like when I get duplicate profiles in lever. Sometimes when a candidate responds to an inmail I get a duplicate profile in Lever. I'm not sure if this is a Gem issue or Lever issue, though.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

I would highly recommend to any organization looking to improve their recruiting efforts

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to send out more messages to candidates much more efficiently than I was able to without lever.

 ### 20. Great for tracking data!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Easy to view reach outs, compare yourself against your colleagues, and AB test messages.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The UI can be a bit clunky and hard to navigate at first.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Learn the functionality early. Set up your sequences, dig into the reporting, and research sequence timing.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Managed email campaigns makes life easier. It saves time.

 ### 21. Gem let's me "set it an forget it" to automatically follow up with candidates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love that I can set up sequences that allow me to "set it and forget it" in terms for sending follow up emails to candidates. You send one email, and they are automatically followed by a campaign of emails, without you having to lift a finger. It has saved me a ton of time, and also makes it easy to tweak/personalize emails right then and there when sending the first email. The best feeling is when I get a response from a candidate, without even remembering that an email was to go out to them that morning!

Having a team of recruiters, Gem also makes sure to sync everything so that we know if someone else o nour team already reached out to a candidate, and can understand their history with our company.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Nothing! It's super user friendly, easy to personalize, and integrates perfectly with various systems.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching out to more candidates at once then I was ever able to before - and finding emails that no other system has been able to find.

 ### 22. Integral Recruiting Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

It's an incredible time saver. It automates the most challenging pieces of recruiting, reaching a high volume of candidates and staying organized.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

It's not really a fault, but it has so many functions it can take some time playing around to figure out all what it can do and how to do it.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reaching a high volume of candidates, and we're able to cover so much more ground in less time. I couldn't do my role without it.

 ### 23. Not bad for recruiters

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like the automatic follow ups and i like the stats. It makes following up with candidates easy and allows us to not reach out to the same people over and over. Its cool to be able to see peoples responses too.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I dont like not being able to use my coworkers sequences without cloning them into my own.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

play around with it until it works for you and establish rules of engagement

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

recruiting and lead generaion and monitoring

 ### 24. Gem is awesome. It is a one-shop stop for the full-cycle recruiting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The best part in Gem is sending emails from LI

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometimes not able to get emails for LI profiles.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

The best platform for recruiting and staffing

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Response rate from candidates is better with 3 email outreach. linking Gem with Greenhouse is a great benefit.

 ### 25. Great Software for Sourcers and Recruiters

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like how we can create sequences, track them, watch the times the emails are being open and create strategies to get a better response rate. Is a great tool and you can get great data from it.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

It only has failed me one time that GEM was down but besides that, I think everything works great.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automatic emails with date/hour, I'm able to create strategies to get a better response rate, great data information.

 ### 26. Gem is so easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Streamlined user experience makes it so easy to navigate on a daily basis.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometimes it's annoying having to manually download each PDF.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's keeping me organized. By tracking who we reached out to already.

 ### 27. Gem is Essential to my Workflow!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem makes sourcing on LinkedIn, sorting candidates, and email outreach easier than any other recruiting software I have used. I use Gem daily in my own work but also am able to collaborate with hiring managers on the platform. Additionally, the Gem extension is intuitive and provides all the information I need when reviewing candidates in LinkedIn or gmail.

Gem also makes it easy to collaborate with my fellow recruiters by enabling sharing or lists and sequences. We are even able to add candidates to each other's list right from LinkedIn.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I wish that they had more email addresses for candidates. I often need to utilize other tools to find email addresses for candidates. However, workflow-wise, I have no complaints.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Use it to collaborate across recruiting and with hiring managers!

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem allows me to sort candidates in logical and flexible groups, create effective messaging with quick personalization, review messaging metrics, and send on behalf of others.

The automatic metric generation is particularly helpful because it allows me to make quick decisions about what is working and what isn't, and iterate. It also allows me to track my personal progress on my sourcing goals easily.

The messaging tool allows me to automatically include candidates past work places, titles, schools, etc so that I can personalize an email automatically which dramatically decreases the time it takes to create a personalized email. The messaging interface is simple, includes all the essential options, and is easy to edit.

 ### 28. Tech Sourcer Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Gem makes it so easy to streamline my day to day tasks.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I don't like how you have to manually save to pdf for each candidate.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to send sequences every couple of days automatically without having to manually do it my self.

 ### 29. Gem has been an amazing way to reach out to candidates.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Outreach stats. I am super competitive and love being able to understand where I am at weekly in regards to my outreaches. This functionality also helps me best present to my internal stakeholders. I have been using Gem for about 2+ years at this point and would not be the sourcer I am today without this tool!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

There are times where Gem pulls old company emails for candidates. I wish that we would be able to remove these so that we are not sending emails to addresses that are no longer active.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

I love using Gem. As a technical sourcer it helps make my day to day possible!

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem has helped me keep up with high volume reach outs. I do not need to manually add reminders to send follow up emails. Gem helps make sure that my candidates have multiple touch points from me in a time that I set.

 ### 30. A tool that all recruiters must have!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Ease of use, no back and forth. Its basically set it and forget it with the drip sequences

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

There is nothng I dislike about Gem at the moment.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Candidate outreach is always a pain point for recruiters. With LI Recruiter, you're only sending 1 message and the follow up is very boring. With gem, you can peak the candidates curiosity multiple times with different messages

 ### 31. Gem is a beast. It's a must have tool for any recruiting team scaling an organization.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher L. | Sr Recruiter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The seamless ease of integrating with current processes.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The UI can use a huge overhaul - much like resource.io

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Contacting more candidates, freeing up time, building pipeline

 ### 32. Extremely user friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I got into recruiting less than a month ago and had no problem picking up Gem. It's an intuitive and common sensical software. I appreciate that the user interface is clean and simple and that there is minimal jargon used to label each tool.

At first, I thought I must be using the bare minimum capabilities of Gem because it was so easy. I attended the first session in the Gem on boarding training and realized I'd been doing it correctly on my own. I've wasted a lot of time on figuring out other platforms and fixing my mistakes before, but not with Gem.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Cleaning projects is time consuming. Would be helpful to have a filter to sort through projects. For example, sorting through candidates in a project by country or state.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unsure of problems or benefits I've solved with Gem, I don't have a benchmark since this is my first time recruiting.

 ### 33. Unbeatable Outreaching Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Organizing pipeline and sending out follow-ups.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I am not able to pull up reports on only selected candidates from a project.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Following up with passive candidates. Most candidates respond to my 3rd/4th outreach.

 ### 34. Strong Product with some Opportunities

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony F. | Head of Recruiting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I really love the integrations with LinkedIn. It's a really seamless experience to be able to source a candidate, add them to Greenhouse, and send their outreach note, all in essentially one click. This is really what keeps us around.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Overall, Gem is a strong product with some opportunities. I think the biggest thing for me is the Talent Pipeline feature isn't always up to date with Greenhouse and has been a bit buggy. There are some other tools I currently use for Talent Pipelines but it would be great to be able to, with confidence, integrate our usage into Gem.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

quick and efficient outreach to candidates is the top benefit here.

 ### 35. Gem is a...gem! Makes connecting with candidates so much easier!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like that Gem makes connecting with candidates so easy. The platform is easy to navigate and makes creating sequences and projects super easy. With a few clicks you can see who has been contacted by you, where they are in the sequence, if they've opened your messages, and so much more.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

This is minor, but sometimes it takes the platform a while to search for candidate email addresses...and sometimes it's actually gotten stuck.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am connecting with multiple candidates for the same roles at once. I also do not have to manually send out second and third emails to candidates...Gem automates that for me. It's definitely a time-saver.

 ### 36. Great tool for recruiting

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

How accurate is the information, and how helpful is it to convert passive candidates to active

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

Sometimes you don't have the email information

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to communicate directly to candidates

 ### 37. Saves time and increases pipeline

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I love how Gem is integrated with all the other recruiting tools I use. Our response rates have increased and I love the set it and forget it process. It's very efficient by helping us automate tasks, stay in touch with talent and report back to hiring managers.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The only thing I could think of is when old work emails are listed. If there were a way to eliminate old emails, that would be great.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation and sending on behalf of have been very successful in engaging talent.

 ### 38. PJ is a huge fan

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul C. | G, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The product rocks. Support and onboarding are unparalleled. The results are almost beyond belief with how many people are replying positively to our outreach and how many candidates are deciding to apply. We are doing huge growth with just myself and a coordinator with no recruiting background.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I wish I could adjust column widths for easier viewing of long sequence names

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the problem of having a team that is too small to meet the need of our business without a tool like this. We have been able to achieve outstanding results from people telling us they really appreciate how personal our outreach is.

 ### 39. The best time-saving tool I've ever used in my entire recruiting career!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I absolutely love how gem integrates with my Gmail and LinkedIn recruiter! Less steps to find a direct email contact and I love how it stops you from emailing a candidate if they were previously contacted (makes you look less sloppy)!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

the only downside is that some emails are not valid, but majority of it is!

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No problems!

 ### 40. Great tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

How easy it's to create and add candidates to new projects.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

It doesn't get all the data from Greenhouse and it's difficult to it trust sometimes.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Faster way of messaging candidates and also understand the pipeline.

 ### 41. I can't imagine my recruiting/sourcing life without using GEM.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruben H. | Technical Sourcer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I also wish InMails (LinkedIn) could be sent more efficiently.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

GEM is the tool that every Recruiter/Sourcer needs. It works very well on LinkedIn, Github, Twitter, and more to come ;)

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to track my own metrics and see how my outreach works with passive candidates. GEM gives me the data that I NEED as Sourcer.

 ### 42. Very efficient and reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ale C. | Tech Sourcer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2021

Its speed and also the ease of use and understanding

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

It helps me to streamline the candidate search processes as well as the process of contacting them

 ### 43. Great Software for Email Integration and Marketing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew Coleman B. | Senior Technical Recruiter, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

The automated LinkedIN & Direct Email Sequences are so great for a busy recruiter.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The only thing that I wish there was automation for is sending automated emails via LinkedIn Recruiter.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gem is a huge time saver for busy full cycle recruiters who must maintain a passive candidate pipeline

 ### 44. Helped a lot with email outreach

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ishan S. | Senior Manager Sales & HR Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like the email parsing feature along with the sequences. It’s really useful creating different projects and having multiple sequences assigned to a single project.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

At times the emails parsed are the official ones which can’t be used.

**Recommendations to others considering Gem:**

Easy set up, easy to use, must use gem for solving early stage start up hiring needs.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have practically solved our email outreach issue with Gem. Gem parses emails for most of the profiles.

 ### 45. Recruiting Necessity!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaitlyn S. | Technical Sourcer | Analytics & Engineering , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

I have used GEM heavily since it was first unrolled I think it makes the sourcing part of recruiting seamless and automated in the areas it was not before. I also have appreciated the partnerships with the direct GEM team and how they always listen to user feedback!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

I wish that GEM would integrate a little more seamlessly with LinkedIn InMails (ie not having to auto-log responses)

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency, Pipeline Analytics, and reporting back to client partners are all benefits that I have found while using GEM!

 ### 46. A robust easy to use CRM product that integrates well with many platforms

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronnie B. | Board Member & Social Media Manager (Volunteer), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Gem?**

Data is imported into a easy usability format and the reach out cadence is automated and edited when needed

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

As a Sourcer, I would like to see a comment box to use when I want to write notes for me or others to read.

I would definitely recommend you evaluate EGM in comparison to other products. The team is very supportivee of the community and is always available to help!

 ### 48. Gem is a Game Changer

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Gem?**

I like how Gem enables me to be armed with data for the hiring process and delivers a quality candidate experience through personalized sequences. It is exceptionally intuitive as a product.

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

The downside of Gem is it doesn't always pull an email address; however, for the most part, it is successful.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Gen software, I have been able to fill roles more quickly and ensures that candidates have a positive experience. My response rates have been significantly higher, and it also saves our team a tremendous amount of time.

Sequenced messaging is a game-changer, the tool is user-friendly, outreach stats are helpful to track your success and be more strategic, and their support team is responsive and helpful!

**What do you dislike about Gem?**

My only qualm is the fact that Gem and LinkedIn don't communicate (which I realize is because of LinkedIn's terms) - ie, inmailing via sequences is not preferred and far more manual.

**What problems is Gem solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm able to pull stats around my sourcing efforts, the effectiveness of my outreach (interested/reply rates) etc.
