**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

I absolutely love Geekbot! It has made my passdowns so much easier. I love how it generates the questions that I need to passdown to my fellow colleagues to run their next shift! I would highly recommend this to anyone needing to send in a checklist for the day on what worked and what did not.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

I dislike that I can not add questions unless I create or generate it in the actual bot when I am writing in my answers to the Geekbot questionaire at the end of the day.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving my daily reports and passdowns in a great order. Normally I would have to add my plan and a daily recap at the end of the day and it takes up so much time because I still need to get my warehouse floor cleaned and in order to set upthe next team for success. Anyone can refer to the geekbot to plan out their day and also end of day conclusions.

We were spending 30 minutes daily for standup meeting just to check what team has been upto. But with this we are now having standup in async and it takes only 2-3 minutes to read all the updates. And our 30 minutes meeting we use to discuss the bottlenecks.

It works perfect. If there is a way to add Geekbot in Jira software it would be better.

Overall, we were struggling to work as a remote team, but Geekbot saved the team spirit. It’s very simple to set up and use, thanks to its customizable features. It allows our team to keep track of what everyone is working on on a daily basis. Also very useful when we run Scrum, Agile methodologies for our projects.

I love that Geekbot is able to help me run standups automatically and bring the team together in a less pushy way, it helps improve productivity overall!

Honestly nothing - I generally love using this product and want it to continue growing!

Being less pushy as a human to run sprints so this is really good, it feels natural and optimized.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

I can create firm surveys, send them out in the channel of my choosing, add participants, and then track who's completed the survey and what the winning responses are. I love it!

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

It appears that you have to do most of the creating on a web page rather than directly in Slack, and then Geekbot will start sending Slack messages. I would prefer a central location for creating my surveys but this works just fine too.

I am creating firm surveys, keeping track of responses, checking in on the team, gathering feedback, and teaching team members how to use the out of office feature, so we know when everyone is in or out of the office or working from home!

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

Our team uses Geekbot daily to improve team collaboration and productivity. We have been using Geekbot for a few months now, and I can share with you what we like about it:

1) It's straightforward to use with a web interface. The interface is intuitive, and there are no complications in setting up standups or managing them. I have tried a few other purely Slack-based tools (e.g. Simple Poll) but found them too complicated. 
2) It integrates with Slack, a messaging app that our team uses for internal communication and collaboration on projects within the company. This allows us to integrate standups easily into our daily workflow and start straight away without any difficulties or delays in integration - this has made our sync-up processes more efficient and productive!
3) It has analytics and reporting features that allow us to see how people interact with the bots and the surveys to optimize the effectiveness of the process.
4) The customer service provided by Geekbot is also excellent - they were prompt and helpful in responding whenever I had any questions or issues. They responded very quickly every time I reached out for help until the problem was resolved!

So far, we're quite happy. If there are any updates on the app, I will update my review accordingly.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

We really like the features and flow of Geekbot overall, but there are a few things that could be improved:

1) Firstly, we can't nudge participants of anonymous surveys to complete the survey. We have a low anonymous survey participation rate because there's no nudge for people to complete them once we've sent off the survey, so it's difficult to gather all responses. Can Geekbot team consider adding this feature?
2) Secondly, Geekbot can be expensive for large teams because they charge per user, not a flat fee per month. For instance, if we have multiple interns or temp users at any given time (we currently have 23), then we're paying a lot more than a team of <10 (which is free). It would be helpful if Geekbot offered a pricing plan where there's a cap on how much companies paid beyond a certain point, just like the pricing structure of Simple Poll. 


 However, these are minor issues. I really appreciate all the work that they do, and I think that what they're doing is really great.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Geekbot to do daily standup updates. The main problem to be solved here is that standups are complicated to organised as our team are working remote around the world (across 5 different timezones).

I can share some of the benefits we've seen. Geekbot has helped us in several ways. For example, when we use it, our team can work together better because they can see each other's progress and collaborate on projects asynchronously. We also appreciate how easy it is for everyone on the team to participate in standups because it’s so quick and simple with Geekbot. That means more participation from people who would otherwise be too busy working or working from different locations.  Overall, the teams have collaborated better, and we can get the work done more efficiently.

The automated check-in feature is nice for sending daily check-ins to hold my colleagues accountable in meeting their long-term professional writing goals.

That I must buy a subscription to use the one simple tool that I'd like to use (automated check-ins to facilitate an annual 2-week long professional writing challenge). I have no need for the other tools that are offered.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

Our team of 4 enjoy using Geekbot for asynchronous sprint stand-ups and retrospects. The Geekbot dashboard makes it easy to customize the questions and schedules for both types of asynchronous meetings. Geekbot integrates with Slack making it easy to track and document meeting responses. It can be configured to send reminders to team members according to a customized schedule. Along with being able to set a personalized schedule, it’s always an option to use a Geekbot slack command to do an impromptu record. All these features make communicating as a team, spread across several time zones, convenient.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

To date, we have not found anything we would change about Geekbot.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geekbot saves my team time because we are entirely remote. We have to be intentional with our time and how often we schedule online meetings.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

Automated team standups via slack are amazing. When our team moved to 100% work from home we were having a standup meeting daily which ate 30 minutes in everyone's calendars. Using geekbot it's easy to drop that down to 2-3 meetings a week and just an automated series of questions which everyone sees the answers to.

It allows us to keep up with how everyone is doing day to day and also makes everyone reflect on their daily tasks, but without the dedicated calendar space.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

If/when we go back to working in the office the platform won't be as useful. Not sure how it will add value without being remote. Luckily it's a monthly bill so not a long lock-in period.

Adding more a few months later - As we got more used to working from home and hybrid, Geekbot has lost its usefulness. I need to get a temperature check on the team less and less, and most responses do not get looked at and many people skip the survey. I think going forward it will be more suitable for reminders on reporting, etc. we need for the business.

**Recommendations to others considering Geekbot:**

Give it a try for sure if you're a remote team using Slack. There is a free trial as well so it's not a high cost to get stood up, and you can build a daily standup in under 30 minutes. By the next day, you can be automating some meetings or information gathering. Look for work from home blog posts that mention Geekbot for some ideas of what you can build on the platform; that's how I initially learned about the platform.

As you mature in work from home, you may find other uses for Geekbot in terms of collecting employee feedback once a month or any important weekly reporting data you may want.

Giving more time back to everyone working from home by automating daily standups and requests for help inside Slack. It's nice that it is not a standalone platform and just integrates into where we all are already.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

So far our team is only using Geekbot to handle Standup, but it is amazing. There is not a single thing missing there. A most appreciated feature is that it handles timezones. Our company works with people from Europe, the US, South America and New Zealand without this, standup would be a mess. 
Also love that people can pick and choose the best time for them to fill their standup, that's especially practical for contractors that have variable hours.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

It would be amazing if the whole setting up of standups could be done directly in slack, but honestly I don't see anything I don't like about Geekbot so far.
I just wish the free version could apply to also slightly bigger teams, but maybe depending on the company's means available ? 
We're an indie game company and the price is a little steep for us.

**Recommendations to others considering Geekbot:**

It's the perfect tool to handle Standup for remote teams on Slack ! I love the fact that it's this bot asking you all the questions live, and how you can add little comments and customize everything!

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It took me 5 minutes to setup and add all my little details and settings, it posts everyone's reports in our dedicated channel and people can check those out whenever in a clear and easy way. We ask "Do you need to talk to anyone ?" each day, and people tag whoever it is they have to talk to. Easy and super useful.
The other great thing is that since is has the option to send you the standup DM whenever you connect, people are less likely to forget : it's the first thing they do everyday !

Geekbot is dead simple, and it lives where our team lives:  in Slack.  Set up your questions, your recipients, and your schedule, and you're off and running.

Nothing to fault here.  It's got the right mix of features and simplicity to cover the basics.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geekbot is a huge time and cost saver for us.  Letting people write daily updates asynchronously via slack means everybody can post/read status updates as it suits their schedule.  Avoiding those in person meetings saves dozens of hours a week and  gives everyone larger blocks of uninterrupted time to get work done.

We have an intense product road map with most of the devs working in different offices. Geekbot makes us know what our colleagues are working on; for the product/devs managers it gives a clear idea of who does what, how the mood is, it automates a lot of annoying tasks. It brings efficiency to the team.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

We have been using Geekbot for several years and It has helped to have our teams synced. We like that It's convenient, customizable, and provides an interface to check the reports in a defined Slack channel or directly through the web interface. 
They recently added "Focus" feature and it's also helping the team. 
We also like It's simple to work and create reports. There is not a learning curve to adapt because It's just about chatting with the bot.
They have presets so you have predefined options to create reports easily.

There is nothing in particular that I dislike. The only issues that we have had in the past were some outages that were preventing to provide the status updates or we were receiving the notifications late.
For some team members, It can be annoying to be interrupted when they are doing something but that's something that can be configured.

**Recommendations to others considering Geekbot:**

If you follow agile methodologies for your project execution, Geekbot is a great option that should consider. But if you go beyond that you will realize that It can be used for any team to improve the communication and synchronization of the team. I recommend you check the presets frequently, you will find their templates to create new reports om different areas like development, sales, marketing, human resources psychology among others. They are updating the presets all the time and depending on the circumstances.

Sync team members. 
Having the daily scrum meetings.
Distributed team synchronization.
We don't have to be in a meeting at the same time.
Team leaders can now exactly what people are doing.
We can know what are the impediments of our development team so other members help to resolve it.
Our sales team provides how things go.
Owners are able to follow the key metrics of the business quickly.

As a ScrumMaster working with a handful of different teams, understanding where each individual is at during the sprint can be chaotic and organized, especially if the teams aren't meeting regularly. I love geekbot because I can customize my own questions and cadence to send out to the team so that I can get a better idea of where each individual is at! It's a huge time saver for both me and my team members. Geekbot is Stand Up made easy!

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

I haven't had a good experience in Geekbot when there are individuals who are in other timezones. Getting people to respond to daily sync gets tricky because you have scattered answers at different times.

**Recommendations to others considering Geekbot:**

If your team is all within the same time zone, I HIGHLY recommend Geekbot for any Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Project Manager looking to keep track of how your team is doing day-to-day. It's so much simpler and faster than having in per daily sync meetings!

I now have the ability to quickly go into my Slack account where I have the Geekbot add on and view everyone's status for the day. As a Scrum Master that kind of ease is wonderful! Much faster than tracking people down and getting their input on the day.

Pricing could be more flexible since we only use 1 or 2 basic features and it would be great to have segmented pricing for that. Especially since we live in a pandemic time where every dollar counts.

Daily routines are key in remote working conditions and for us: we don't add a new collaboration tool (thank god) since everything happens in Slack. For the admin part, I just didn't lose any time setting it up since we were operational in 5-10 minutes only.

Although this product is very competitively priced for large teams the costs can build up, especially if you pay monthly.

Using Geekbot allows us to make sure that every developer regardless of timezone and location knows what every other member of the team is working on. Also allows them to know what is happening in streams that they are not part of and allows everyone to work and prioritise their workload as they can mention that a particular ticket is required to be completed before they can do their part. Cross team statuses are delivered much easier.

I can get to know my teammates better when we work remotely. Geekbot facilitates icebreaker questions and encourages participation by directly DM-ing the relevant people, before sharing your answer to the publishing channel.

There is no option to customize your plan, if only certain kinds of Standup templates are needed. ie. only Pizza Questions (icebreaker style)

I don't have to manually ask people to answer icebreaker questions, which is a huge benefit for managing a larger team - which is often when the icebreaker questions are most needed.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

Super effortless  to setup, you can get going in minutes. The web UI for report creation and management is nicely designed and very user friendly. The flexibility around where the reports go in slack and the associated permission is easily managed. Building out many reports is of varying team configurations with varying visibility through of the answers is also easy done, all the functionality is at your fingertips.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

Its difficult to fault this software. The only thing I would mention is that as far as I know a thread cant be created for individual answers in a report printed into slack, only for all report as a whole. It would be nice to contain threads per answer. This would be a "nice to have" but doesn't take away from the software benefit.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Considering we had a partly dispersed team, the GeekBot Stand up ensured that everyone was still across what was going on in the company and who was doing what. The historical record was an unexpected benefit too, its easy to go back through a thread in slack and find discussions around any topic for clarification.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

The interface is incredibly easy to use and the onboarding/setup was super clean. I have used other players in the space like Standuply and felt somewhat overwhelmed with functionality. Geekbot has a far better UI/UX and reporting process. We have found our home with Geekbot.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

That there is no free tier. We are a small team and many of their competitors have a free tier for small teams. It has gotta be tough competing with that, but they are definitely taking a step in the right direction with their simplicity and superior UX.

I do wish that you could default the manual "report" check-in functionality as we have a daily check-in and a bi-weekly retrospective. 99.9% of the time you are going to do the daily check-in manually by typing "report", but it has you select which of the 2 reports you want to report on.

**Recommendations to others considering Geekbot:**

Give it a try (using the trial), you will likely prefer it if you value UI/UX.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More regular check-ins and stand-up meetings with employees on a remote team. Being on a remote team is quite lonely at times and having Geekbot be a non-committal daily check-in really helps us stay on the same page with our team.

The other reports are interesting and I'm excited to collect more datapoints over-time to get a nice gauge on how the team is feeling as a whole.
