**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

Geekbot has made our daily standups and progress updates effortless. It integrates perfectly with Slack, so our team can share updates asynchronously without scheduling meetings. I love how customizable the questions are — we can tailor them for project tracking, retrospectives, or weekly check-ins. The automatic summaries are clear and help everyone stay aligned. It’s honestly one of the simplest tools that delivers great impact for remote collaboration.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

There’s very little to complain about. I’d love to see more detailed analytics or visual dashboards for tracking team performance over time, but overall, it already does a fantastic job.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geekbot has helped us cut down on unnecessary meetings and boosted team transparency. Our standups now take less than five minutes per day instead of 30-minute calls. Managers get instant insights without interrupting workflows. It also helps us spot blockers early and maintain accountability. Overall, we’ve saved several hours weekly, improved productivity, and strengthened team communication.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

What I like best about Geekbot is how effortlessly it automates standups, surveys, and team check-ins directly in Slack/Teams. The AI features, like sentiment analysis and topic tracking, give us valuable insights into team progress and morale without extra manual work. It saves time, keeps everyone aligned, and makes collaboration smoother—especially for remote and distributed teams.

While Geekbot is very effective, setting up more advanced question flows or customizing reports can take some trial and error. The analytics dashboard could also offer more customization options and deeper filtering to better match specific reporting needs.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

I've used and led the adoption of Geekbot in three different organizations over the years — and I can confidently say it's a game-changer.

As a team leader, manager, and now director of engineering, Geekbot has been nothing short of a lifesaver. There's simply no other tool that offers this level of clarity into what the team is working on. If you're anything like me — someone who loses sleep over misaligned priorities and teams pulling in different directions — Geekbot brings much-needed peace of mind.

Having spent most of my career in lean teams where speed, output, and cohesion are critical, Geekbot has consistently helped us ship faster, identify bottlenecks early, and keep everyone aligned — whether they're tackling month-long epics or one-day quick wins.

The login via slack bugs me. to use the geekbot dashboard - everytime i have to login via slack and go to the configuration page.

Easy way to generate interactive, engaging and effective surveys (special mention to their Slack integration). The way data is collected and displayed is very visual and easy-to-consume. Definitely a great tool if you roll out surveys frequently!

I don't have any negative feedback so far!

Generate engagement when rolling out surveys is not easy especially in a remote organization. Thanks to Geekbot and their Slack integration, we've been able to achieve great engagement resulst as our employees were able to reply in an easy and timeless way!

Geekbot is our go-to tool for keeping our team in sync and our projects on track. It's like having a virtual assistant that handles our check-ins, updates, and internal communication. It's easy and quick to use, and our teams seem to be using it very effortlessly. If you're serious about boosting productivity and promoting communication within your team, Geekbot is the way to go. Plus, the client service team is really responsive and flexible, always helping us as needed!

I absolutely love how we’re using this tool for our daily standup workflow and end-of-day reports. It’s incredibly easy to use and has become an essential part of our routine. The features are intuitive and make Slack much more engaging and efficient for us. We’ve seen a significant improvement in our team’s communication and productivity. So as a startup we have remote teams and it was pretty hard to keep track of what the individuals were doing . By implementing Geekbot we were able to keep track of all of our employees by asking them 3 simple questions  at 7pm  their time.

The best thing about Geekbot is how it syncs effortlessly with Slack. It makes our daily standups a breeze and ensures everyone stays on the same page without any extra effort.

Nothing at the moment, maybe something like auto configuration of workflows for all channels in Admin panel feature would be great and quick for configurations.

It is very easy to connect this tool to Slack and add/remove our team members as necessary. We use this tool for our weekly standups channel, and it works perfectly. It's intuitive and easy to use.

Overall, we love the tool and have no complaints.

We are able to have visibility into what everyone on the team is working on for the week. We do not need to use a complicated power automate flow to accomplish this in Slack or Teams, it's all just within the app.

Geekbot saves us time from having to host daily meetings to get status updates. It aggregates all the data into one place that our managers can review and unblock any urgent issues. It gives back engineers time to do more important things, like coding. Highly recommended!

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

It's very easy to set up, and the templates are helpful to avoid having to start from scratch. I like that workflow members can personalize their receipt time to be more amenable and that multiple persons can manage the workflow. It was much easier than other Slack Apps I've worked with to enable other teams at the company to use the app.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

It's not very customizable. I know there is a balance to strike between ease of use and customizability, but I feel that it leans too much on the ease of use side. For example, I'd prefer to use the Connect template as a question broadcast to a Slack channel that channel members can respond to in the thread rather than as a DM. I'd also like to see one-time workflows that don't require routine scheduling, such as specific project retrospectives. It's a hassle to have to turn them off after completion. It would also be nice to organize workflows within teams so that all of the workflows for one team are contained within a folder to reduce noise when many teams use Geekbot and multiple team members create/manage different workflows. For multiple-choice questions, ranked-choice voting would be great! Finally, the ability to structure questions within flows would increase flexibility (i.e., answers to a question determine what other questions the person sees).

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't like in-person daily stand-ups. I think they are a distraction and have administrative overhead in recording updates for tracking purposes. Geetbot allows team members to respond when available, provide greater detail than they would in an in-person response, and keep track of history. I would love to see Geekbot expand to cover more functionality for facilitating collaboration and relationship-building on remote teams.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

Geekbot makes it super easy to get quick updates from our team and get a high-level view of what's going on in the company. We use it for Monday and Friday check-ins with our team, as well as a more well rounded monthly 1:1 report that gets sent to managers. There are also tons of features we aren't using, but Geekbot has become a core part of our project management across the team, where everyone relies on it to get the information they need for the week.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

This has gotten better since we've started using Geekbot, but the interface is a bit clunky, which makes updating the surveys or adding/removing participants less than intuitive. We've also had a couple issues with surveys not being sent out on time despite the schedule being set up correctly. Minimal issues though overall!

Automated messages! I don't have time to message each staff member individually to check in every day, but I can automate  & send. I can also send out policy reminders & get my team's commitment to those policies daily!

I wish it was a bit more customizable and that the interface was a bit more user friendly. It is really simple to get started, and is not overly difficult to use, but I would LOVE some more options for automated task types.

Geekbot is allowing for more interaction between myself & my team, as well as more interaction between different departments. It has been an excellent culture building tool due to daily check in questions & responses being posted in our general slack channel. It facilitates great connection without being face to face!

I love using Geekbot to host my team's daily stand-ups. It fosters great communication within my team, helps me have a pulse on what is going on, and creates a fun atmosphere with emojis--increasing engagement from my team members.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

I would say the least effective about this software is the reporting features. It doesn't capture the true mood of the team (with their newly released mood report), and I can't report on stuck items. I think with more work, the reporting tools can be really helpful.

Easier stand-ups! Instead of meetings, I have an effective pulse on what each of my team members are doing, what they are working on, and where they are stuck. Geekbot makes this so easy and fun, which is great for engagement.

I love the customization capabilities for content, frequency, and timing of standups. I use 3 different Geekbot check-ins with my team to maintain workflow and keep us engaged with each other in a human way.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

Geekbot started sending end-of-day reports to a channel that is visible by the whole team without warning and without me having turned on that function. It was an app update, as I learned from a later marketing email, but it caused confusion for me and the team.

I love the following:
- The reminders on Slack
- The seamless and user-friendly interface and integration
- The prompts and the dashboard to make it seem interactive!
It's super simple, straightforward and a great way to get asynch teams to get engaged

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

- You cannot link it to Jira or to other platforms that will help the PM split out tasks 
- It is hard to follow up on blockers and a way to help manage the team's tasks to set priorities
- It would be helpful to get the metrics board up and running
- As PMs, I would love the opportunity to do more than just have free-text responses that do not link or click on something further. Additionally, it is hard to track the past or how long something is taking for a team member

It helps provide asynchronous standups for a team in differing time zones. It helps the PM keep track of all the people's tasks and ensure that we work to be agile everyday.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

It's so amazing that Geekbot allows for multi-time zone settings so that each of my team members no matter where they are, are able to send updates on their time. Furthermore it is amazing that Geekbot allows for reminders and is automatically scheduled to run and the fact that all you need to do is chat back to it as if you're talking to a real person is amazing a super useful.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

I do wish that there were more customization options for teams such as allowing us to rename the posts so that it does not just say "Geekbot posted" but rather allow for some customization that alerts of who actually used the Geekbot to make a post.

**What problems is Geekbot solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geekbot has been allowing my team to have a great stream of weekly updates which we struggled with in the beginning as we had very busy weeks and would often forget to post. But the Teams chat from Geekbot and the chat feature of it as well as the reminder that you can set allows for not needing to remember but also a reminder to do so every week!

Geekbot is helping our cooperative to run in a hybrid way. We feel more connected since it shares with each others news, feelings, tasks, struggles and all these in a way that brings us closer.

We run in a hybrid way without fixed working hours. The first task of each team member is to stand up. After that, we know that they are available, what are they busy with, how long they will be available. This allows us to create a business culture online, offline and hybrid.

**What do you like best about Geekbot?**

The ability to quickly setup recurring feedback forms for my team and organization in Slack so that we can track and monitor engagement with each aspect of our team(s). Not only do we have engagement opportunities for day-to-day, but also for meeting feedback, engagement surveys, daily task tracking, etc. The transparency and set-and-forget that GeekBot enables is very helpful to our org.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

I think pricing wise it's more expensive than it's value enables, but for us it was this or spending more than figuring out custom solutions. We went this route, and try to run everything we can through GeekBot - sometimes it works well, and other times we learn and improve.

Day-to-day engagement prompting and metrics tracking is the most significant use case at our organization. We also integrate GeekBot when we can use Slack workflows at our org for a workflow/process.

We were looking for a lightweight solution to collect feedback and reviews in a native tool we were already using. Geekbot's integration with Slack was perfect for our team and made getting everyone to use it, easy.

Would love to be able to call specific bots whenever we wanted so we could provide feedback anytime, instead of just during the scheduled Geekbot times/channels.

Every now if I have too many standups going around the same time period, it tends to pause one unencessarily. I think it's trying to avoid too many open stands at the same time, which is nice, but every now and then I do miss one.

Team syncs for folks working in several very different time zones, particularly on days when we are heads down, trying to focus, and a live meeting is just a bit of an inconvenience.

Geekbot has replaced our daily standup meetings. It has served as an incredible measurement of team capacity, allowed us to celebrate wins well, and enabled us to check on the progress of projects authentically, all WITHOUT meetings.

As with any text-based platform, you don't get face-to-face interaction like a traditional meeting or standup. This can sometimes be difficult as only so much can be conveyed with words.

Geekbot is an excellent way for employees to know what each other is doing daily without micromanaging. It is a polite way to nudge others for assistance while encouraging them with your feats daily.  Amperon used Geekbot pre-pandemic, but with the new remote world, I have recommended it to numerous colleagues.

It occasionally breaks or gets confused when you are traveling between time zones.

There are some tips that I wouldn't have known unless a teammate told me about them (like entering a hyphen to skip a question), so it'd be nice to be able to opt into automated tips.

Maintaining connections with a globally distributed team can be challenging, and Geekbot helps ease this challenge. When I use Geekbot for myself personally, it helps me recognize my wins and also helps me plan for the upcoming days.

We use geekbot quite extensively, first to replace the in-preson standup meetings that Scrum masters so enjoy, then to increase visibility for everyone in the company. For this, we use the traditional standup format, sending the answers to team-based channels, using these three questions: 

What have you accomplished / focused on since [last checkin
]. 
Share something that you've learned/experienced/enjoyed outside of work. 
What is your focus for today/this week. 

To foster connection, the middle question is key. It allows people to share anything they want, and the answers very often get expanded with photos and other comments in subsequent threads. The question is optional, and yet, it's the one that gets answered with most details. A win for team-cohesion.

If anything, we are probably underutilizing the tool (and the statistics).

The Geekbot dashboard is extremely sluggish when my team uses it for standup around 9 PST. The page can take 30s to load, and the slack bot often takes minutes to respond. Seems like there are some architectural/scaling optimizations to be had.
I have to log in every day I use the dashboard; there is no 'remember me" that lasts longer
The formatting from slack to the geekbot website is weird, and my output is often changed inexplicably.
The URL for my dashboard keeps changing, so I have to edit my bookmark regularly

Overall a lack of polish leads for a less favorable user experience

Geekbot makes running asynchronous remote stand ups easy and effective. We are a remote company and have tried many forms of standups (zoom calls, slack messages, etc), but Geekbot has been the most flexible and enjoyable solution. It works great across time zones and the randomized question feature helps with building culture with fun questions. It also has solid reporting so I can see when people fill out their standup as a manager.

I wish it showed me who didn't fill out standup. Also wish it had more trends reporting. I've had some trouble with the auto-send when slack becomes active feature too, as people have reported it sending on an hour delay.

Geekbot is integrated into Slack - where we're already doing most of our communication style work. It fits naturally into the daily workflow. It's also great about ensuring that conversations that spawn from a standup report get attention.

There are ongoing quirks and bugs that you agree to live with. I'd love it if they fixed some unexpected behavior I've seen when folks across different time zones are involved in a standup. For example, setting my OOO dates never works quite correctly because I'm on the East Coast US and the person who set the standup up is on the West Coast US.

We use Geekbot for our end of day updates. I really like that you can structure the questions that are asked but still put some flair into the process to make it fun for the people on the team. I also like that you can easily update your answers after and it gets reflected. The updates are posted to multiple channels for different audiences. It solves a lot of logistical issues for us!

It does get a bit buggy sometimes and either doesn't pick up your answer or doesn't ask you to give your update at the right time.

I wish it would note my own personal preferences for time to have messages delivered even when a new message is added. So if my regular daily stand up I have scheduled to always arrive at 8.15, newly added ones should also follow that same rule instead of me having to manually change it.

It makes it simple and quick to create and run asynchronous daily standups, provide company-wide transparency into the inner workings of any team and track progress over time.

The way it's implemented in Slack is that it pretends to post on behalf of the users, but since it's the one actually posting, responses to these posts, both textual and emoji, are often missed by the original poster. Threaded responses are the exception, since Geekbot adds its own response flagging the original poster, but that's clunky.

It allows our teams to run daily asynchronous standups and helps provide visibility into what everyone's focusing on each day. It also helps identify when someone is blocked. I loved using Geekbot to report on daily KPIs with my team. It automated the whole process, which was incredibly helpful as a busy Marketing Director. We also used Geekbot together as a team for daily standups to share our personal wins, priorities, and anything we needed assistance with. Highly recommend Geekbot.

Nothing! Honestly, I really loved it. We just switched to ClickUp as a company (from using Slack & Asana). I'd love to see an easy integration with Geekbot to be able to setup those daily prompts again. That may be a feature I'm just not aware of as I'm still learning ClickUp.

Haven't been able to find a workaround to connect 2 different reports. Example: We have a team stand-up on Monday and Friday to report goals and progress for the week. These are 2 separate weekly standups with different questions so they don't actually speak to each other. Would be great if Friday's stand up could reference back to Monday's, rather than the last reported (in this case, the previous Friday's standup). Maybe there is a workaround that I haven't yet discovered... either way, there's confusion around this.

The set up itself, especially integration with Slack was extremely easy!

The ONLY downside of Geekbot so far is the difficulty in logging in to dashboard from mobile. Somehow from the mobile Slack app, Geekbot does not take me to a valid login anywhere - it may be helpful to have a clear indicator if this is possible or not.

Every morning, everyone at my workplace gets a reminder to publish my daily stand-up in Slack by Geekbot. This helps me and everyone else keep track of their duties and the duties of their team members. It's a great tool and doesn't require the installation of any other software. Integrating it with Slack makes it easier to post if I'm traveling. Another cool feature is that updating out of office on Geekbot lets everyone know that I'm on leave, preventing unwanted calls and texts.

**What do you dislike about Geekbot?**

Some accounts in my team are not receiving the daily stand-up prompts. That is creating a lot of confusion, and we've had to set up the entire system once again for them. The prompts just stopped randomly. If this issue gets rectified, Geekbot will be very easy to use.

Geekbot is an easy way to keep track of the tasks that everyone is working on. Earlier, we'd use WhatsApp or Slack to remind colleagues to update us on their tasks manually. Using Geekbot to do asynchronous daily standups helps our team know what everyone is doing and helps me organize my days by filling out my standup survey. 

It's a simple and efficient tool that saves me precious time.

I wouldn't mind having a couple of additional Slack messages or other ways to discover Geekbot's other features.  I just found out it had more to offer than daily standup.

This is minor - but, I do wish there were more flexibility when opting to randomize questions. It seems sometimes some questions are repeated before new ones get shuffled into the randomization.

Very easy to configure, edit, and adapt. We use it for multiple teams that post on different channels, and it's very easy to set up every time. 
We've been using it for 4 years or so now and we never looked elsewhere.

If folks have multiple reports/standups they need to do for different teams/projects, sometimes it can be confusing which one to pick, or orders get mixed if not answered to promptly. But it does become a training matter at some point.

Our scrum teams have their own standups, but with Geekbot, we do company wide written updates; this way from the CEO down to someone who doesn't belong to a particular stand up gets their voice heard and their blockers removed.
