It’s not a freenas fault, but maybe mine: I feel uneasy handle the freebsd disk system. In disaster recovery it can be a problem. Actually I use linux mint as samba server, not using raid at all, I found a better disaster prevenction to have a secon backup disk handled by cron jobs that backups data asinchronusly(better than mirtoring). Freenas is exactly what the name suggests... freeNAS appliance. The software is amazingly efficient. I get 800 Mb/Sec transfers on my regular SATA hard drives via Gigabit Ethernet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
