The feed can then be livestreamed and/or recorded locally using FFmpeg, or used as a webcam source using a DirectShow filter. ## FFsplit Reviews ### 1. Best Screen Recording software till date **Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Prashant S. | Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2022 **What do you like best about FFsplit?** FFsplit user interface is very easy to understand and easy to operate. I like its output feature where I can also do the live stream, upstream of my screen. As compared to software like Bandicam, this software is way easy to operate and loaded with features like HD output, Livestream, Youtube video, etc. **What do you dislike about FFsplit?** There's nothing much to dislike about FFsplit. Everything works properly on FFsplit. There's no scope for betterment for this software so far. It runs very smoothly for me. **What problems is FFsplit solving and how is that benefiting you?** Through FFsplit software, I have been using features like screen recording and livestreaming for my work. Productivity has really increased. I can easily record meetings done on MS Teams and save them for future reference. ### 2. FFsplit: Pretty decent, but needs improvement **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2021 **What do you like best about FFsplit?** The first somewhat good thing about this app is that it's completely free, and judging from the past and current state of events and news, it will remain free. This is a great advantage to the new-comers to Live streaming world as they don't have to pay money for various features or the application itself, like they do in many other streaming softwares, but then again this is not something unique, there's tons of free streaming applications to go around. It is a little more lightweight compared to many of it's competitors. **What do you dislike about FFsplit?** Application has a few big problems. The first one is the number of functions and options it can offer a streamer is very low compared to OBS or many other free streaming applications. Second biggest problem is that it does not have the capability to stream to many popular platforms such as Facebook Live for example. Third problem it has is Codecs, it always has one or another kind of issue with FFMPEG and users have to constantly keep juggling with it, even the software developers themselves probably have to constantly update and change and re-code things to make it work properly, which has caused a lot of distrust, issues and most likely loss of many users for FFsplit itself. Many users have also been struggling with Audio not being recorded or being recorded from a wrong source, or even recorded badly, which once again requires users who are not knowledgable to get into the settings and search the google and forums to make the software work properly even for a simple Desktop recording, not to mention the Live Streaming. **Recommendations to others considering FFsplit:** If you have average skills in searching for solutions on google and have sufficient technical savvy to apply them for any error that the application might throw at you, then it is decent, lightweight, and, what's most important about it, completely free application. **What problems is FFsplit solving and how is that benefiting you?** For a free application, It is good enough and light enough to make desktop recordings to record various training videos or in-house tutorials to be shared with employees. On every new release or upgrade for our software, we conduct in-house presentations and learning sessions which we always make a recording of to then upload to our shared cloud for every employee to watch and learn. If the application works properly and you know how to fix any Audio or Codec issues it throws at you (And it does so pretty often), then it's a good solution for the usage, as mentioned above. ### 3.
