What do you like best about COR?
COR, without a doubt, is in a niche market. Project management for agencies. Of course, you can use a JIRA or Monday.com, but they don't allow you to manage all project elements within one platform.
There are many positives to the platform such as:
– The user interface (UI) is also very modern and clean.
– The Gantt chart is automatically updated based on task movement
– The promises of the roadmap and sales pitch :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about COR?
We've been using COR for just under 1 year; after looking around in the market, it was the most effective solution (not the most cost-effective) that met our needs. Our driver was one of the security risks with a previous platform.
Our main issues with COR today are:
– Bugs in the user interface (UI), especially after any releases; the UI also frequently hangs.
– The UI in general is missing filters for exclusions/inclusions
– There is no customer communication to existing customers about releases, which means you don't evolve in using the platform. The odd email would be helpful on "this month we've released x y z"
– Slow support / service, whilst they respond quickly, you don't always get an ETA or a fix. It's usually "it's been escalated"
– Lack of meaningful reporting on key metrics (on the surface, and in the sales pitch you have everything, but dig deeper!). It's also not customisable for the user to build their own report, and COR state you can get a copy into your own database to then build what you want – seems meaningless when other platforms provide the basic reports you need.
– Integrations are not with the main platforms a business would use (Xero, SFDC CRM, etc.) unless via Zapier, and Zapier isn't well tested and each release breaks every integration
– Program templates which should help you quickly launch a new project are actually more painful than they should be. In a way, counter intuitive. Apparently on the roadmap.
– Fees promised to provide easy reporting for retainers, we found a bug that COR didn't even know about, which apparently has been fixed but we haven't got the time to test it for them
– My final pain point is that of permissions, they're not customisable and not very intuitive. Twin that up with paying full price for customer access, it becomes difficult to justify.
It's hard to know if we're just more aggressive and granular users of the capability the platform provides hence why our team are uncovering so many issues, but we're apparently a small fish compared to the logos COR have on their books.
From a customer perspective, I'd rather less quote modules, holiday booking and AI and more of the core functionality that the platform lacks. Be a brilliant tool for PM and get the basics right (like a Monday.com) and then get on to the cool stuff the shareholders want to see. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
