I no longer spend hours cross-browser (well, email-client) testing emails. Our team has been able to get up-to-speed so quickly and this tool has drastically sped up our email-creation process, allowed us to send WAY more emails (and more impactful ones), and finally have the capability to dip our toes into more advanced email practices (personalization, dynamic, etc,) **What do you dislike about Chamaileon?** Honestly, I do not dislike anything about Chamaileon. I regularly provide feedback and they are constantly making the app better -- my current wish lists: be able to create "Plain Text" looking emails more easily, have saved blocks be truly "reusable" (so we can build out our Design System fully on it) - I know they are working on something like this now though, and being able to customize things like text alignment differently on desktop vs. mobile (although there are ways around this that work just fine right now) **What problems is Chamaileon solving and how is that benefiting you?** - The overhead of building bullet-proof emails (Chamaileon saves us so much time) - The learning curve of building templates (Chamaileon makes it so easy) - The ability to keep things consistent (Chamaileon allows us to save components/blocks that speed up our building, but also keep things more consistent) - The ability for template-building to be EMS agnostic (EMS tools change.. in my tenure, we switched from Mailchimp to Iterable... but Iterable will probably not be the only EMS we use in the next 5-10 years... so having the ability to keep our template building consistent will drastically reduce email migration time in the future) - So much more! ### 2. Their customer service is great as well, and pricing isn't bad. **What do you dislike about Chamaileon?** The only drawback I found was you don't have access to the HTML because they use their own markup language. Besides that, being a Hungarian company, there is a bit of a time difference, but not too bad. **What problems is Chamaileon solving and how is that benefiting you?** They were great when I was using Pardot as the main EMS. Chamaileon was by FAR the platform that allowed us to do this the easiest and the best. We make great use of the reusable sections, and syncing/updating is super easy. I have very few complaints about Chamaileon! **What do you dislike about Chamaileon?** For what Chamaileon is/does, it's terrific. I really can't complain. It's much better than the built-in editors on any of the major ESPs. I wouldn't mind if it created its own archives, but that's an indictment on Mailchimp for not having better archive options, not so much a complaint against Chamaileon. **Recommendations to others considering Chamaileon:** Built-in editors for Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, etc. leave MUCH to be desired. Chamaileon allowed us to create the look and format we wanted, and easily since with multiple different ESPs. Chamaileon fits the bill wonderfully. Sometimes it gets buggy when I search old images. That may be due to server or browser too. During our learning process, we have reached out several times with questions and challenges to the Chamaileon team. Roland and his team have been absolutely amazing in their responsiveness and support. With an extensive background as a developer myself, I have never met a product team so eager to listen to their users and make changes when needed. We suggested a minor export change, and they agreed with the update, coded the enhancement, and implemented it in under 30 days. Amazing...... **What do you dislike about Chamaileon?** Had to think long and hard about this as I am SO happy with the product. All of the issues we faced turned out to be from a lack of product knowledge on our part as new users. One minor thing that would be appreciated is the ability to master search all emails across all folders, not just the folder you are currently working in. The drag and drop interface is surprisingly easy to use, and since there is no standard for email design, this tool is a must-have. It takes all the guesswork out of creating a ton of great HTML emails you can import into Marketo, Pardot, or other solutions you're using. **What do you dislike about Chamaileon?** It would be nice to customize the mobile version a bit more (different styling for mobile buttons,etc.) free trial that runs out and prevents exporting is a bit disappointing. I wish their pricing were a bit more affordable for small businesses. Having transitioned to Marketo, we needed a solution that would allow us to build out well-designed, mobile-friendly emails and easily sync the emails over to Marketo. I am relatively new to email marketing, and designing emails has been a breeze. The elements in Chamaileon are incredibly flexible and allow for a limitless potential of formats and styling. The 'block' function also allows us to save portions of an email and reuse them throughout Chamaileon (footer, banner, etc.). I have also found the integration with Marketo to be quite smooth; I am able to use Marketo tokens and snippets in Chamaileon emails. The few minor hiccups we have encountered, Roland and the Chamaileon team have been incredibly responsive and have offered up very quick fixes and solutions. They are a pleasure to work with. **What do you dislike about Chamaileon?** Throughout our time with Chamaileon, Roland and the team have been incredibly responsive to questions. I can't think of anything I dislike! **What problems is Chamaileon solving and how is that benefiting you?** Marketo's native email builder is extremely limited. We needed a flexible solution that would allow us to build emails in line with our brand and sync them over. It does seem there are better options if you are a Gmail user. Since you have an unlimited free trial just give it a try and see if it is right for your needs. If you are looking for a straightforward tool this may be what you need. We are able to search by tag and look for a template that best meets and fits our needs for the output (e.g. a newsletter, a web page, etc.) The drag-and-drop building feature is probably the biggest merit of the platform, and allows for ease of newsletter structuring, curation, and duplication. Visual quality and styling customization are excellent - plenty of fonts, detailed customizations for colors, paddings/margins, and the visual quality is great. **What do you dislike about Chamaileon?** There are a couple pain points while using Chamaileon. First, the Mobile version of templates does not translate well from the original template as seen on Desktop. It would be effective to be able to translate the two as close as possible, or at least allow for a Mobile + Desktop adaptable editing view. When creating links in the email or newsletter, the Protocol does not function - it breaks. Another bug that seems to appear often is broken flows when creating a new template or e-mail.
