"Card Connect is a Fraud"
What do you like best about CardConnect?

CardConnect was billing me for services which were never contracted or used. I do not like anything about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CardConnect?

Card Connect has been consistently debiting funds from my bank account since January 2022 without my authorization. Each month, they impose varying fees under the guise of being my designated Merchant Processor. They claim that my business engaged with their sales associate, Ignite Sales Group. However, I want to emphatically state that I never consented to any offer from them, nor did I enter into any form of agreement. Shockingly, they somehow gained access to my bank credentials and proceeded to siphon money from my account without providing any invoices or statements. The total extent of their unauthorized charges exceeds $1500.

Attempts to resolve this issue with Card Connect have proven futile. Their customer service system is designed to deflect accountability, with all calls being rerouted to India. After enduring hours of fruitless conversation, no satisfactory resolution is reached.

It is abundantly clear that Card Connect and its associates are engaged in fraudulent practices and must be subject to a thorough investigation. I have no doubt that numerous small businesses have fallen victim to similar deceptive tactics, resulting in significant financial losses. I urge others to steer clear of Card Connect and to promptly report any instances of fraud perpetrated by them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CardConnect?

It is adequate as a merchant account if you don't have any issues. Transactions are easy to track. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CardConnect?

They have an incompetent customer support team. They transfer you like ping pong balls, and never do two people give the same answer to the same question. It took me two months to solve a simple issue that should have taken 10 minutes with a competent customer service representative. Their support services are abysmal!!! If you have two CardConnect accounts, they make it almost impossible to work with both. the two accounts have to be opened on two different browsers. They don't tell you why you can't open both accounts separately on Chrome, they say, "well it works on another browser so just use another browser to open your second account!!! They will not blend the accounts. Even when you ask them to at least give you one login and password (like a credit card company does when you have different credit cards with the same bank), they make it almost impossible to do that. What do you like best about CardConnect?

Employees are text book, so please remember this is not their fault. They tried, but they are trained to follow the rules and skirt you around from department to department. They are trained to keep revenue the company didn't earn. I appreciate their help even if they can't give me the answers I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CardConnect?

Cardconnect Does not listen to consent or value business partners. Representatives state there is no contract when it works in their favor, and then declare that continued account usage means they can make up rules as they go. There is no instant way to cancel the contract you were told you weren’t in (it took 13 days to receive a cancelation form that mentions additional fees, again when rules are made up freely for any open account). This company will not send you a copy of the merchant agreement and will not allow you to see the original contract without filling out a form and waiting 2-3 business days. The bank statements and charges are unclear and not affiliated with the company by name; being charged by “merchant services” is unclear and creates problems for busy business owners trying to stay afloat after a pandemic. Voicemail box of the appointed representative remains full when you need to reach them. Representative will fail to read email if "lengthy". When you call for customer service you are skirted around from department to department, and specific questions are not answered. Supervisors and managers do not exist, but they can still take your money. Case in point, this company's main policies and values steal from small community businesses, which we all know is a deficit not only to families, but also local economies. The contract for Cardconnect/Fiserv/cardclover/cardpointe/merchantservices is unclear, unethical, and nonconsensual. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CardConnect?

We switched from our previous card processor to CardConnect after doing a cost analysis and using CardFellow to compare processors. The rates were as promised which was much better than our previous company. Also the portal is extremely user friendly and much more helpful than the two other portals I have used with previous processors. It's very simple to run transactions, get reports, manage users, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CardConnect?

We've had some issues with their CardPointe gateway on our website where the connection times out before the card is processed. At this point we still haven't been able to determine if it's the CardConnect service causing the problem or something else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CardConnect?

Before we agreed to change over from Heartland, Mitch Reisberg took our banking information so we could be approved. Card Connect immediately started placing charges on our bank account. We called Mitch and he reversed those charges each time with the promise no other charges would follow; however they continued to charge us until we had an electronic stop payment placed on our account. They have never paid back the last two charges but at least we don’t have to worry about anymore charges after our “stop payment” went into effect.

What do you like best about CardConnect?

I like that you can customize customer fields in the virtual terminal. You can add in a customer ID/code or a random field that identifies with a customer that will save to their profile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CardConnect?

I don't like that I can't connect to my quickbooks in the way I would like. It can connect through a third party add on but you can't record a payment that covers multiple invoices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of the dashboard is definitely a nice plus. Being able to submit support tickets from the dashboard/copilot is pretty useful as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
