BrightWork Makes SharePoint a Little Better **Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Richard C. | Business Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2021 **What do you like best about BrightWork?** BrightWork is OK. It essentially provides you with more tools for your SharePoint environment. The best thing about it is the ability to customize reports and forms. It's perfect for Lessons Learned activities. I can send the form to everyone on my team, and they can provide their feedback. The reporting is good too. I can use form data to create customized reports. My favorite report is a project overview chart that provides details about the status of each project. **What do you dislike about BrightWork?** Maybe I expect too much from BrightWork, but it's just a wrapper for SharePoint. Sure it gives me a few extra bells and whistles, such as the reporting and forms, but I have a hard time seeing the value in it. I don't know that giving my team access to reporting is worth the money we're spending on it. I also don't think anyone uses it as anything except for a document repository, which is why we have SharePoint. **Recommendations to others considering BrightWork:** Just understand that you're getting a little better version of SharePoint with BrightWork. Nothing more, nothing less. It isn't bad, but please know that it's not that great either. But it is easy to use and manage, and it should be easy for your VIPs to use also. **What problems is BrightWork solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted to give executives and shareholders a snapshot picture of our project portfolio, including specific details about each project. While it does this, and our VIPs have access to these reports, they still request that my team pulls these reports and sends them. I feel like we're not saving time with BrightWork, but I realize this is a management issue. We need to get our VIPs comfortable using BrightWork. ### 2.
