This platform enhances visibility and progress of the construction project reducing risk from deviation of original project. Other than this platform also enables the financier and construction team to work hand to hand in co-ordination. The best of this platform is it avoids false flags completion through the metrics. It also enables to keep track of the schedule to timely take precaution before lagging which might derail the project causing huge financial losses. I also love the user interface and easy onboarding of this platform. The capability of this platform for both 2D and 3D is really good. The integration supported by this platform makes this platform more powerful. The once a while login to see the status can sometime be overwhelming for financier. The CA tools for RFIs and Submittals are the most commonly used items, and their ability to be shared with external team members who do not have a Newforma license is really beneficial. The search everything tool allows looking for digital project-related items through one platform, including email, documents of all sorts like PDFs, Word, Excel files, AutoCAD files, and more, with a viewer for almost all document types. It also facilitates organized tracking of RFIs and submittals from original submission to closeout. Switching from Newforma Project Center to Konekt when we went entirely to cloud-based data storage was a smooth process. Konekt was remarkably easy to set up and get started; migrating 1000+ projects from NPC to Konekt had very few hiccups, and it is simpler to manage than NPC. I also find the improved processes, like filing project-related email, to be really helpful. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** Newforma Konekt is constantly being improved and new features are released, but not all of the features from Newforma Project Center are available yet. It should move in this direction and create its own clash detection also. Also allocating issues in the 3D model using the points is somewhat difficult. My client used to create a viewpoint by it, and they sent it to us, and we resolved those clashes. They can prioritize some clashes which need to be taken care of by setting some priority to issues. I have difficulty navigating in the model look at the other trades and also sometimes created issues are not clear much like if we unhide all elements it can hide the real issue behind any solid objects. It also allows the autocad but we generally do not do the coordination in autocad software. Some of the software is not very intuitive, If you want to get past a baseline understanding. Issue Tracking during Model AND Document Review **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Aaron M. | Director, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019 **What do you like best about Newforma Konekt?** The fact that BIMTrack has "plugins" for various applications- but isnt specifically dependent on using those applications and plugins- is paramount, for my team: We are BUILDING models (not reviewing them) while reading and reviewing Drawings in PDF form (where the issues originate). The majority of our BIMTrack issues stem from PDF's, but we can use the Revit plugin or web app to input them, and the Revit plugin while reviewing answers and modeling. Another large upside (to our specific workflow) is that using BIMTrack isnt dependent on a document or model export of any kind: neither the PDF's nor the Models. We CAN leverage the models (when we are in to actual 3D coordination based on our models), but during the initial (main) design review/validation/reconciliation process, there simply is no upside to marrying the issues to a model. And- because we are issuing questions while we review PDF's that are stored elsewhere- hypothetically forcing us to use an issue system married to documents or models is a detriment we are happy to avoid. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** The Hub user count and licensing structure challenges us (as a very small company, who often needs very large teams on the hub). But it is a minor limitation. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Konekt:** In the recent months ive compared BIMTrack, the new Autodesk BIM 360 Issue Tracker, and the Procore 3D Coordination Issue Tracker, as well. Feature wise and usability wise, i am the happiest using BIMTrack (i am having to use two of the three on different projects... The Autodesk one isnt fit for purpose, as it ONLY works with one specific file type from Navis, and only married to the BIM360 hub, both of which are not positive attributes). While i favor BIMTrack, other considerations may be if the party considering already maintains licensing for the other applications. As we work in Bluebeam Studio for PDF's, and dont currently use/subscribe to Procore, using BIMTrack (the better issue tracking software) is a no brainer. My concern is many who already pay for enterprise subscription to Procore may default to it (even if its clunkier and lesser than) out of the convenience factor of it being inside a product they already have. For Navis users, the integrations is great: Auto creating and grouping issues and creating them on the fly. For Revit users, there are a lot of interesting things you can do: Including creating issues through the API and Dynamo, from your model. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a 3rd party project reviewer, we are often creating "issues" that are independent (or sometimes integrated) with the GC/AE's official RFI process. In the past this was done through manual PDF document creation, and coordination. Many hours per week in document tracking and conversation managing are eliminated, using an issue tracking system. The design teams we interact with are sometimes willing to engage in the web app, so we dont have to shuffle documents to them, as well. ### 23. No longer looking at the model and trying to verify I am in the same place. Having the clahses assigned is saving time for us to go through all the clashes and rename and place in folders for assigning the resposible or effected parties reduces our time spent on generating reports. **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** If we could generate views for non-clashes. Something that they would like to see modified but isn't a clash would be helpful. But overall this has been very useful not many dislikes. **Recommendations to others considering Newforma Konekt:** I don't think you will find anything that will do what they are doing here. The sorting and assigning of clashes saves time and allows you to track without manually going through and moving items into a resolved folder. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** This saves us a lot of time being able to have users in different programs running reports and others fixing them in the other software. We are also tracking the clashes better so we can see how long it is taking to address the issues and see who is or is not taking care of their assignments. ### 29. Using BIM Track during design phase you have an exceptionally clear way of communicating a issue with other design team members. Emails and snap shots can be lost and hard to track. Here you see the issue and can track the issue. Use this internally or externally it saves you time and frustration in looking for an issue. Then when you do get in to clash detection you can add those to the cloud, track and see which trade is having a hard time keep up and cause the most issues. Even though I don't currently use the software at my new company, It will be part of our VDC solution here shortly! **What do you dislike about Newforma Konekt?** Not to much to dislike. The team is pretty good about helping with issues, even with the time delay from east coast to west coast. We did have a problem at first uploaded clashes and it adding the clashes each week with a new number - but the team helped clear that issue. **What problems is Newforma Konekt solving and how is that benefiting you?** Communication. We have fast turn around times when asking questions of the design team. ### 30. Since the software is cloud based, there are sometimes synchronizing issues/bugs that are a little frustrating to troubleshoot.
