## Better Stack Reviews
  ### 1. A-maz-ing!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Everything is so simple and seemless. Implimenting Better Stack's services is like a breeze. A couple of times I've had issues, but that resolved rapidly by the team there. Absoloutely superb.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

Nothing - Better Stack has made our lives so much easier.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When our services go down - we know we'll be told about it before we even notice!

  ### 2. BetterStack Uptime is a great user platform for monitoring uptime, with a very generous free plan.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

BetterStack Uptime is a great product. It's really easy to add new monitors and the customer support is excellent. The number of features provided in the free plan is really easy to use, and unique. I use it every day with work, and was easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

It would be nice if there were more integrations, such as with GitHub if a commit failed then there would be a disruption on the status page.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automatically reporting downtime and system errors with websites. It helps because it's easy to view, and when there are breaking issues they're clearly highlighted.

  ### 3. Good monitors, even better alerting, amazing support team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nol D. | Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Getting called, sms'ed, emailed and receiving a push notification when something goes offline is a-mazing. Betteruptime also bundles problems that seem similair, more easily getting to the source of whats happening. Cronjob, heartbeat, domain, dns, imap monitoring. They've got it all. That combined with a lovely UI makes it the best option I have seen for monitoring.

Their status page is also supurb, amazing design, shows what it needs to show. Maintenance is clearly announced, reporting on downtime. And the option for subsribers to your status page who automatically get notified if something goes down.

In short, simply amazing.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

The options for monitoring, calls, when somethign appears on status page are vast. This could lead to some important features getting lost due to the user getting overwhelmed. Fortunatly, the support team is quick to help, and very friendly along the way.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Guaranteed uptime for client systems. We get notified immeadiatly if something goes wrong, (which tech seems to do sometimes). This is an amazing way of ensuring our clients systems are always online. Peace of mind

  ### 4. Their uptime monitoring is really powerful despite requiring minimal setup.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

I mostly use Uptime service(formerly Better Uptime) for monitoring, while also using Logs occasionally to grab logs from Cloudflare and couple of linux VMs. I will mostly talk about Uptime because that's what I mostly use. But Better Stack Logs also has powerful features, I don't use most of them but you should check it out.

It is really easy to get started with uptime monitoring. Monitoring a server? A simple ping check will do. If not, you can monitor any URL, any port of any IP, check IMAP/SMTP, or even check HTTP responses for keywords for checking. Do you want to monitor something that has no exposed service to the Internet, like your home router behind CGNAT? No problem. just put a "curl https://uptime.betterstack.com/api/v1/heartbeat/xxxxxx" on crontab, or find a way to ping the URL at any interval you choose, and you're done. If no heartbeat is received within selected interval, after a confirmation period, alarm goes off.

If you want to go even further, their simple yet powerful API and integrations look like they can take you even further, but for smaller operations it is not needed. I, for example, used Zapier integration to post an alert to my Discord server when stuff goes down.

There are integrations with popular services such as heroku, Google Cloud, or Webhook in/out (so you can create incidents via webhooks if you don't want to go with API yet get similar function) that you can use to both "import data" and "export data", Importing being monitoring or creating alerts/incidents from other services, and exporting being alerting via other services, like Trello or Slack(similar to my discord example).

When an alarm goes off, yes you get an email, yes you can see it on the page, standard stuff. If that's not enough, you can get notifications in literally anywhere else you choose thanks to integrations I mentioned. No Internet at all? Well, if you don't have internet you can't really do anything about the issue that may arise, but at least you'll know something is wrong because you can choose to get called on your phone by Better Stack. It will not be a real person, obviously it's a robocall, but you'll still get notified and you can even acknowledge the incident on the phone call if you're on it so it doesn't call others.

The design of the status page is slick and easy to understand, you can edit the basic layout of the services you want to show on the page(you don't have to show all of them) and you can manually create and edit incidents, maintenance notices and more. You have quite a few customization options if you want to dig in, but honestly you'll feel just fine with the default settings.

Customer support is just amazing. They will answer your questions directly, without sending you random help articles like any other service does. I am using this service for more than a year, and I did not have any major issues, and couple of minor issues were quickly addressed thanks to the customer service being super fast and straight to point. They know their customers are usually IT people, so they don't spend time explaining stuff that everyone already knows. Only major-ish issue I had was their status page itself going down every now and then before(I added the status page itself to their status monitor just for the sake of it, how ironic lol), but they were already aware of the problems even before I asked what's going on.

As I said, I am using this service for over a year at this point, and I do not plan on giving up at all. If they keep operating for 10 years, I will keep using this service for 10 years, for my personal projects as well as any professional work I might do, and I will happily pay for it because it is 1000% worth the money imo.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

Status pages can definitely get some more user-friendly customization options. You can choose between multiple layouts and even put your own CSS/JS code, which should allow you to do literally everything, but I don't think that's the most user friendly way to do it. Design of the status page itself is pretty decent and you will not have an issue to use it as is, but being able to more easily customize it would be nice to have.

Also I saw on the pricing page that some features I am currently enjoying as a free user is no longer being offered to new free users, and even some of them, such as ability to use your own domain, are only offered on Enterprise plan, which greatly reduces the usability of the service on lower/free tiers. While it is nice that they don't take features away from existing users(that's the easiest way to get your users angry, for example, look at twitter), but I would expect a bit more transparency while this change took place, I only realized this is the case after I recommended the product to another geek friend of mine only for him to realise that he cannot have some features I have without paying quite a considerable amount of money.

And on the Logs, they primarily use Vector to collect logs from all kinds of services across platforms. While vector itself is not a bad system, sometimes it randomly stops working and errors out, resulting in logs from servers not appearing on the service. That's probably something customer service can asisst me for a solution, but I had other issues with the vector itself in other use cases I don't really want to deal with it and I'd prefer alternative methods being offered for Debian systems.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I didn't even know I needed to monitor for uptime, because you know, couple of VMs, and one page via Cloudflare Pages. They won't go down, right? Well, it turns out they do. And when they go down, they took your mail server down with it, or your VPN, or your Wordpress instance, or your Minecraft server, then your girlfriend calls you and complains, etc etc. It is a one-man show around here, so I don't really have *that* much going on, but knowing a problem exists is pretty helpful so you can solve it. For example, I recently found out that the server I rented recently from a local company is having random internet dropouts. I got in contact with the hosting company and they tracked it down to a larger intermittent issue with the actual datacenter, so I'm currently planning on moving my services from Bursa back to Istanbul. Although as I said, I don't really have much going on, I try to provide useful stuff to my friends around me, like an adblocking DNS or a small VPN via wireguard, and I'd like to sleep knowing they are still working and I won't learn that my minecraft server crashed out and is down for multiple days from my friends, for example.

  ### 5. Very intuitive and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2024

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

It is a very robust tool that is easy to set up and provides a number of easy to understand and sensible defaults.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

It can be a little unclear how to set up the custom queries/alerts at first, and the way the queries are run isn't very well documented.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of logs and alerting us to potential issues

  ### 6. Rapidly evolving software with great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

We started using Better stack in the early days and it quickly became our favorite monitoring tool. It has an easy and clean UI, good integrations and it was simple to start using it. With the Better stack logs being available we are migrating from Graylog to Betterstack logs and the experience has been very good as well. The tooling is so much easier to work with compared to Graylog. Although it might not be as feature-rich yet the support team is awesome, responds fast and features are implemented in mere days in some cases.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

Nothing really stands out at this point for us but since it's quite new, if you are coming from a very feature-rich solution it might be missing some features. But as mentioned the development and improvements are quick.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better stack uptime helps us detect if websites, apps, or services are up and running. We use the default monitoring and heartbeats for this.
Better stack logs helps us centralize logs for multiple servers running the same sites behind a load balancer, logs are quickly queriable, and visualized in dashboards accompanied with alerting to quickly respond to incidents.

  ### 7. Excellent service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward Jose G. | Socio fundador, Developer mobile Flutter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

It has allowed me to quickly and efficiently monitor the states of my microservices, as well as debug errors.

It is an indispensable tool.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

For now, I have no objections to the tool.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has allowed me to identify possible failures by having the metrics of peak traffic times that I have.

  ### 8. A great platform to monitor your websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharon J. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

We have been using other services to monitor ours, and our client's websites for a long time, but when we have found Better Stack (Better Uptime), we wanted to try it because of the great UI, it also has multiple server locations for monitors, SMS nofications, team options, call option, etc. Since then we have moved all our website monitoring's to Better Stack without hesitation, their support is also good and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

There is nothing to dislike about the product, but we don't receive SMS or calls when the new incidents are created, we receive email notifications everytime, but not calls and SMS.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We primarily use Better Stack to monitor all our websites, and whenever the website goes down, we receive email, SMS and call notifications, so our team can dive into the issues and fix them asap. It also has SSL expiry notifications which helps us to renew the SSL certificates before expiration.

  ### 9. Great Service, Support, and Value Add

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Very well designed and straightforward interface with plenty of options to monitor almost anything you need monitored. The integrations with other services really makes this a service that can be your central focal point for a monitoring system of all things. This all along with a very attractive price makes it difficult to consider any other option.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

It would be nice to be able to "pause" team members, so they don't get alerts while on vacation or out of the office. Or even to have active hours for a certain person. This goes for monitor checks, would be nice to place a specific monitor into Maintenance mode on demand for xx minutes. Also would be nice to have more complex scheduling for maintenance periods (i.e. every 3rd friday of a month, etc).

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitoring when websites go down so we can respond to outages quickly.

Offers a free tier to start with and grows with us.
Fully-featured, it provides more functions than we've ever needed.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

The log alert doesn't send the actual content of the triggering log entry.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Betterstack Logs for centralised logging and Uptime for monitoring. Both integrate seamlessly with our applications running on Heroku and k8s, and are simultaneously connected to Slack. Collectively, Betterstack has become the one-stop solution for collecting firsthand log/monitoring data, correlating this data with monitoring results, and sharing this information with our team.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

It is very useful for centralizing many different data streams. I have used Better Stack for server log files and the UI on the website was inuitive and helpful. The implementation docs allowed me to have this up and running in no time.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

I would like an easier method for pulling down these log files into an excel sheet. Perhaps a download data button on the main log page?

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have lots of logs coming through my website everytime a user does something. Before betterstacks these logs would tend to overwrite themselves if done concurrently. Better Stacks allowed me to funnel all logs to one place for easy analysis.

  ### 24. Should be called Best Stack

  ### 26. Upgrade Worth Its Weight

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam W. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

We are thinking about switching to a paying plan shortly because we adore this site. It alerts me when a problem arises that needs my attention, and it once saved us from a timeout caused by a memory leak. It has great value to us. The software is friendly, has great status pages, and enables efficient escalation rules.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

If there were some capabilities that could be incorporated into apps to proactively assess their health, that would be extremely wonderful. For instance, a composer plugin that keeps track of the health of our database models, views, and other components would be helpful in our situation of managing a fleet of Laravel apps and assisting us in preventing problems before they arise. I am aware, though, that for the time being this is more wishful thinking than a capacity that could change the game.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In order to pinpoint any flaws they are my fault or the fault of the web host, I find it useful to compare the platforms performance to that of my web hosting. Its critical for me to maintain open communication with my users by informing them of the pages condition, including whether it is completely unavailable, performing poorly, or requiring frequent maintenance. The platforms extra advantage of enabling others to report faults raises its value even more.

I found communication via email to be very fast, helpful and prompt.

  ### 32. Moved our entire Monitoring-System weithin 1 hour!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

BetterStack offers a wide range of functions without being overloaded. The web interface is very tidy and follows a clear design principle.
We have changed our previous provider in order to make our reactions to operational disruptions faster and more transparent. It also helps us that the number of calls triggered by the system is unlimited. With our previous provider we only had 30 free calls per year!
The status pages are very clear and easy to configure. The monitoring systems themselves are very reliable, we initially set them to be a bit too alert, but that has leveled off.
We are also very satisfied with the support, we had direct contact with a permanent contact person.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

We are currently still having problems with the Microsoft Teams integration and the integration of the status page as a script on our website, which we can certainly solve in a timely manner together with support.
Other than that, setting up, ordering, etc. wasn't a problem.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With our previous provider, we often had problems with false positives and alarms because the heartbeat services had very high response times in the meantime.
In addition, we were very limited in the design of our status pages and customer communication in the event of a fault was also very inflexible.

  ### 33. Great toolset

  ### 40. Better Uptime Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph J. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Easy setup and notifications to monitor my sites. I add the service to each customer site to identify issues 1st.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

It's really a good service. I purchased a LTD license via Appsumo, so maybe if I paid a subscription I'd be more critical but it's a solid service for me.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better Uptime notifies me when one of my WordPress sites goes offline. Before Better Uptime, I would find out about broken sites from the customer, which is the worst case scenario.

  ### 41. Best and lite app.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Ease of use, comfort and efficiency, really easy!

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

There is a bug that you can't see logs from all times, only two days back.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Track common errors and crashes.

  ### 42. Better Uptime is the free uptime monitoring service with the shortest check interval, which is good.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Georg R. | Senior Data Scientist, Utilities, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

The best thing is the short check interval of just three minutes, already in the free tier. It gets better in the paid tiers, with many more features. They even call you if your website goes down.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

The web interface wasn't fully customizable and sometimes during our tests, there were some latencies and delays with the website. Not with the monitoring, though, that worked perfectly.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables us to save otherwise lost money if we didn't know that our website is down. Uptime is critical in a fast-paced environment where the customers expect us to be reachable 24/7.

  ### 43. Best Monitoring Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

- The reliability
- The checks are made from several regions
- Very customizable
- The statuses pages are beneficial to share with stakeholders
- The integrations including their API

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

So far, I haven't had any complaints about the tool, but they could potentially add more native integrations, like Telegram. Another good integration could be ClickUp.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Monitor uptime of all the websites I'm managing
- Share the statuses pages with stakeholders
- Monitor scripts thanks to the heartbeats
- Align team to address incidents timely

  ### 44. Rock solid monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nik R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Better Uptime is the best monitoring platform I have used. The ability to monitor keywords, certificates, HTTP requests makes it flexible and powerful. The app downtime notifications are top-notch.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

I haven't had any issues to date so no dislikes at all.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Website monitoring with effective alerts.

  ### 45. Best Service to Use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Has a free tier of service
Customizable status page
Represents status in a meaningful way
Ability to provide updates during issues or even during maintenance
Very well designed, kudos to the team
Easy setup

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

There is nothing that I dislike about Better Uptime. It will be very exciting to see the Better Uptime service continue to grow over time and see the features grow and more features added.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping keep track of website uptime. I can compare it against my web hosting to see where issues are, whether it be something I inadvertently caused or something wrong on the web host's end. I wanted to provide transparency to my users about the status of the page, whether it be completely down, degraded performance, or undergoing simple maintenance. The fact that others can report issues too makes it a lot better.

  ### 46. Quite literally a Better Uptime

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

One of the much better uptime monitor softwares, doesn't give gals positives like others and has more automation and api options even in the free tier.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

You do need to upgrade to paid for more advanced options but it isn't expensive either.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More consistent monitoring off my websites and AWS instances.

  ### 47. Great tool for insights!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

The best thing would be that I get instant alerts about my websites downtime as soon as they happen.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

Nothing yet, I'm pretty happy with better uptime.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My serverless website went down quite a lot. Better uptime gave me an option to fetch a log, get notification when the website was down, and to create an incident report and share it with the developer

  ### 48. Status Page for every business

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyanka J. | Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

Gives real-time updates for website, API, cronjobs and more. Simple and professional status page with filter option for every incident. Can also provide a Twitter page link for the website and update it automatically. Provide widget to stay updated

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

The app is awesome and i love it, but there is one thing that i think would make it better. They should have an option for push notifications so that we can take action instantly.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With better uptime, I can monitor network uptime for the server and website. It's not just about checking to see if a website is up, but helps us to get notified of any issues/incidents as soon as they arise.

  ### 49. Easy to setup, easy to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gavin H. | IT Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

I've been using Better Uptime for a while now and have been very impressed. It was very easy to set up and is very easy to use. I tried other similar offerings but settled with Better Uptime for its stability and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

Nothing really to dislike. I'm only on the free tier, but this covers everything I need. At first, I thought the pricing was a little high, but having used it I can see it would be value for money.

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compared to my previous onsite monitoring system Better Uptime (being off-site) is far more stable and reliable. I've never missed an alert and have very few false positives.

  ### 50. Great for monitoring systems

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vasilis Filippos S. | Web Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Better Stack?**

It has an amazing UI, and SMS notifications and it monitors any type of system including SMTP, IMAP, servers and domains with their respective response time. Whenever there is an issue the team is notified. You can also connect a custom domain for the statuspage.

**What do you dislike about Better Stack?**

It's a little time-consuming to set up all the monitoring services for the different components and it's not that easy to change the design of the status page that is created,

**What problems is Better Stack solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To use several other software to monitor the throughput, the origin requests health, and the responsiveness of the service. It also provides a centralised bugs management system with tagging options which really helpful.
