I used amazon S3 while I developed a Java based web application for my training project in my current company. The cloud service provided by S3 is quite attractive as it has a simple interface and data hosting and retrieval is quite easy. The cost involved is a bit on the higher side.My case was a bit different. I had opted for S3 services for a project and later forgot to deactivated the sevices. I like the Amazon simple Storage service (S3) because of the Amazon S3 provided data storage with the good security services.we can transfer the data to S3 over the public internet using the accsses S3 application.Also Amazon S3 transfer for faster over long distance. this is most preferred storage for my applications, I will mention some reason as below which I like most

2. Durability: data is highly protected against accidental deletion or corruption.

There are some challenges and issues where improvement is required like latency, lots of configuration properties to improve performance. One need to be expert or dig out lot about putting correct configuration to do integration with different technologies like , if we are using java or scala with spark to ingest data into S3, one must be expert in configuring jobs correctly , correct regions
