What is Adobe Acrobat, and what problem is it built to solve?

Adobe Acrobat is used to create, edit, convert, organize, review, and share PDF documents. It helps make PDFs workable for everyday document tasks, including revisions and approvals, without requiring users to rebuild documents from scratch.

What languages does Adobe Acrobat support?

Adobe Acrobat supports 27 languages, including English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish, among others.

What company sizes and industries is Adobe Acrobat the best fit for?

Adobe Acrobat appears across small businesses, mid-market organizations, and enterprises, with positive experiences reported across several industries. The most represented segments include:
  • Company sizes: Small Business, Enterprise, and Mid-Market.
  • Industries: Information Technology and Services, Higher Education, Financial Services, Computer Software, and Accounting.

How long does it take to implement Adobe Acrobat across a team?

Teams describe getting started quickly, with the most common go-live experience taking less than a day. Other reported timelines span several weeks or months.

What customer support options does Adobe Acrobat provide, and how do users find the overall support experience?

Support is available through email/help desk, phone, and chat, with 24/7 live-rep support. The experience is mixed: users value the available help and resources, while others describe slow responses or a drawn-out process for resolving account and support issues.

What tools and platforms does Adobe Acrobat integrate with, and how do these integrations help users get more value from the product?

Adobe Acrobat offers 123 integrations, and users describe connections that bring PDF work into familiar tools and storage systems. Examples mentioned include:
  • Microsoft productivity and collaboration: Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Cloud storage: Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box.
  • Adobe creative tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Other workflow tools: Chrome, Salesforce, and Workday.
These connections help teams create and access PDFs from existing workflows, share files, and keep reviews and signature tasks moving without as much app switching.

What features or capabilities could make Adobe Acrobat even more useful?

Adobe Acrobat could be more useful with a faster, lighter experience and a more straightforward interface. Users also point to several practical improvements:
  • Improve performance and reduce resource use, especially with large or complex PDFs.
  • Simplify navigation and make common tools easier to find and customize.
  • Offer more flexible, affordable plans for users who need only selected PDF features.
  • Make editing and conversion more consistent, particularly for complex layouts and tables.

How useful do Adobe Acrobat users find its AI features in everyday use?

Adobe Acrobat’s AI tools are most useful when users need to get oriented in long documents, though they still check important details themselves. In everyday use, they help with:
  • Document summaries: Condensing lengthy PDFs into key points for faster review.
  • Document questions and information finding: Asking about a file or locating relevant details without scanning every page.
Some users find these tools helpful and time-saving, while others report inaccurate results or interruptions from prominent AI prompts.

Is Adobe Acrobat considered safe and secure for handling data?

Users describe Adobe Acrobat’s document-protection tools as helpful for handling sensitive files, including password protection, encryption, permissions, and redaction. That can support safer sharing and more controlled access, though redaction results should be checked carefully because users have reported occasional misses or incorrect selections.

"Great for Reviewing and Sharing Client Documents"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

Adobe Acrobat offers a complete set of PDF tools that fit well into my content creation workflow. I regularly use it to review campaign briefs, highlight important sections, fill out forms, edit PDFs, and convert files into Word or PowerPoint. Everything works smoothly, and the document formatting remains accurate after editing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

Some advanced features are only available with the paid subscription, and I would appreciate more editing tools in the standard plan. Large PDF files can also take a little longer to load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Industry standard but slow, heavy, and expensive — I prefer Edge & office suites"
1/5
What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

Adobe is the standard for the industry. However, I think there are better options out there that are much more affordable and often faster. Adobe Reader takes a long time to open. Most browsers now support reading pdf files and Microsoft Edge often kidnaps the default application settings. I have tired of fighting MS and now use Edge as my primary pdf reader. Office suites generally take care of my conversion of documents to the pdf format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

Adobe products tend to have a lot of overhead. I prefer to use lighter weight products, or products that I already have - like office suites, either MS or LibreOffice. Adobe Reader is free, but their other products are not. I do not use their features often enough to justify the cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless PDF Editing and Smooth E-Signatures Across Devices"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

I love how easy it is to edit, merge, and convert PDFs without messing up the original formatting. The e-signature feature saves me so much time, and it works smoothly across devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

The subscription pricing feels a bit steep compared to other PDF tools, especially for individual users. Also, the app can feel slow to load on older systems, and some features are buried in menus that take time to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Complete PDF Workspace for Marketing and Client Documents"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

Adobe Acrobat offers a complete set of PDF editing and review tools. I frequently use it to annotate documents, leave comments, highlight important sections, and review files shared to clients. The cloud integration keeps everything synchronized across devices, making it easy to continue working wherever I am. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

The desktop experience is solid, but the mobile app can feel resource intensive on older devices. Large PDF files may cause slower performance or occasional crashes, which can interrupt work. Better optimization for lower end devices would improve the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplistic Yet Effective, But Expensive"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

I like how Adobe Acrobat is simple and easy to use. The interface is not really complicated at all, which makes my work tasks easier because I can quickly find things and move through the process without having to search for different things. I appreciate the AI features, which are really good with image generation. The setup was pretty easy, taking just ten to fifteen minutes to set up on my computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

The fees. I feel like I'm paying a lot more than I need to for the services that Adobe Acrobat provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless PDF Management with Adobe Acrobat"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

I use Adobe Acrobat mainly for working with PDF documents. I love how easy it makes managing PDF documents with its editing, converting, commenting, and signing features. Adobe Acrobat is especially useful for preparing professional files, filling out forms, and adding comments. I value the search and document organization features, which save time and make it easier to manage documents, especially when I need to quickly edit, review, or share a PDF. The initial setup was quite easy, and the application allowed me to start working with PDF files almost immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

One thing that could be improved is the overall user experience for some advanced features. Certain tools can feel a little complex for beginners, and some features may require extra steps to find or use. A simpler interface, clearer guidance, and more affordable access to advanced features would make Adobe Acrobat even more convenient. Some of the more advanced editing, document organization, and form-related features can take a little time to understand. I would like these tools to have simpler navigation, clearer labels, and more step-by-step guidance for beginners. A more streamlined workflow for common tasks, along with quick tutorials or tips within the application, would make these features easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive PDF Management, Slightly Pricey"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

I love Adobe Acrobat's wide range of PDF editing and document management features. The interface is easy to use, allowing me to perform most PDF-related tasks from one place. I particularly like the ability to edit text, merge and organize pages, convert PDFs to Word, add comments and annotations, and digitally sign documents. The OCR feature is also incredibly useful when working with scanned documents, as it makes the text searchable and editable. Overall, Adobe Acrobat is a reliable and convenient tool for handling official and professional documents. The initial setup was quite easy, with a straightforward installation that didn't require complicated configurations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

I find the pricing too high, especially since I only use a few advanced features occasionally. Some useful tools are locked behind a paid subscription. The software also sometimes feels a bit heavy when working with large or complex PDF files. A simpler and more affordable plan for occasional users, along with faster performance for large documents, would make Adobe Acrobat even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat?

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat?

A causa del suo ampio set di strumenti, può essere un po' pesante sulle prestazioni del PC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
