AbsentEase is a text-based call-off and attendance system for companies with hourly and field-service employees, including commercial cleaning, restoration, HVAC, electrical contracting, machine shops and manufacturing. Instead of calling a hotline or leaving a voicemail on a supervisor's phone, employees text in sick to one dedicated company number from any mobile phone, with no app to install and no login to remember. An employee can write something as plain as "I'm sick and can't make it in today" and AbsentEase identifies them by phone number, saves the message word for word with a timestamp, and books it as a sick day, a full-day absence, a late start or an early leave, including the hours involved. No codes or keywords are needed. Supervisors are alerted by text and email within seconds, and alerts are routed by department so each supervisor hears about their own people, while an office manager or HR can be set to receive every call-off. Employees get replies in English, Spanish, Arabic, Bengali, Bosnian or French, and supervisors are notified in English. Not every text is a call-off, and AbsentEase tells the difference: a question such as how much PTO is left gets an automatic answer by text instead of being recorded as an absence. Behind the text line, AbsentEase keeps the attendance record current on its own. PTO and sick-time accruals, balances, carryover and caps follow the company's policy, including tiered accrual based on lifetime hours worked. Attendance rules are set up once, covering excused-day allowances, late-start and early-leave limits, an unexcused-hours budget, peak-season limits and rolling-window discipline steps such as a written warning after three unexcused absences in 90 days, and every absence is counted against them automatically. A live dashboard shows today's call-offs and unread messages, and built-in reports cover the call-off log, call-off trends and patterns, absenteeism by employee and by department, supervisor coverage, SMS delivery and SMS opt-in consent. Reports can be filtered by date, printed or exported to CSV. Managers can also text the whole company or selected departments at once for weather closures, schedule changes and other announcements. AbsentEase connects to Workyard, QuickBooks Online, UKG Ready and Workday to keep the employee roster current and, depending on the system, bring in departments, managers, approved time off and hours worked. Pricing is a flat monthly rate based on employee count, and every plan includes the full feature set. Customer data is never sold or used to train third-party AI models.
