Their latest V3 API is very well-structured - the endpoints are intuitive, properly organized and not bloated. This made integration with our systems a breeze, there was much less technical overhead required on our end. Another major strength is their responsiveness to feedback and eagerness to improve - Abound reached out to us for feedback on their V2 API to identify the pain points and addressed all of them in the subsequent release, making our lives during the tax filing season much easier. Their support is also very quick and always happy to help with any issues we encounter. **What do you dislike about Abound?** Abound does an amazing job with their present day service offering - however, I would really like to see the catalog expand. Supporting more document types would allow us to use Abound as an all-in-one tax filing solution and not rely on multiple vendors. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Abound for our tax filing purposes, especially 1099 filing and the related TIN verification process. When it comes to 1099 filing, we have been able to easily integrate their API with our core backend systems. This allows us to automatically file documents, handle corrections and voids with little to no manual work. As for the TIN verification service, it is very fast and straightforward to use, which helps us reduce the risk of errors and ensure compliance. We were satisfied with the ease of integration and automation of these processes, as it reduced the day to day manual efforts to minimum, while our customers are satisfied with a stable and efficient service. ### 2. Abound is incredibly easy to use. As someone who isn't exactly a tax expert, I appreciated how intuitive the platform is. It guided me through the entire process seamlessly, making what could have been a daunting task surprisingly straightforward. 2. Abound does exactly what it promises. It handled everything we needed it to, without any hiccups or complications. That kind of reliability is invaluable when dealing with something as crucial as tax filings. 3. This is probably the most important - the Abound team. They are absolutely incredible to work with. Not only are they responsive and helpful, but they also go above and beyond to improve the product continuously. It's evident that they genuinely care about their users' experience and we had the opportunity to meet so many team members from different roles. They actively seek feedback and incorporate it into their updates, making us feel like valued members of their community. Overall, my experience with Abound has been nothing short of exceptional. If you're looking for a reliable, user-friendly solution for your 1099 tax filings, and a backing team that will be there for you the whole way through, Abound is the way to go. **What do you dislike about Abound?** Abound is a new product and therefore they are still building a lot of features and UX specifics. The team is super open and transparent with their roadmap and have always been receptive to feedback about features we think might be missing. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a company that is processing payments for our customers, we are responsible for issuing 1099's to a large group of customers. Abound not only made the filing easy, it also enables us to ensure we had the right information on file for each customer, and make any edits or changes to forms easy for all levels of our team, from the CFO to our support reps. ### 3. The ability to verify a TIN with the IRS before we file has enabled us to chase down accurate information from our customers throughout the year, rather than under the year end time crunch of getting tax documents out the door. The shift to stateless API resources, while it was an adjustment coming from v3 of the API, really simplifies how we reason about the responses. We are able to discern what our next step should/will be. We have control of each step of the process, rather than being subject to arbitrary timelines chosen by Abound. **What do you dislike about Abound?** There were some unintended quirks when moving from v3 to v4 of the API that affected a small percentage of our customers. On the positive side, the folks at Abound were responsive to our feedback and have conveyed that they will learn and improve with future versions. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** Abound is critical for us in scaling our requirement to produce 1099-K documents. We have gone from producing ~5k documents through a mostly manual process, to having the ability to comfortably produce over 200k documents for our clients. It allowed us to remove our finance team from the critical path. They are now equipped to quickly identify the tricky cases and service those, while the run-of-the-mill cases flow freely. The ability to verify a TIN with the IRS in March, or any month, saves us from needing to chase down that information in compressed time frames at the end of the year. That lowers everyone's stress and has increased our response rate when asking for additional information. Customers are able to more closely correlate their activity on our platform, with the resultant actions we take to gather tax information. ### 4. Tax season was a stresfull moment in the year, not so much anymore. They are constantly working on improving and are open to feedback to give a better solution. The API has improved over the time we worked together and made it easier to integrate with our database. **What do you dislike about Abound?** Not specifically a "dislike" , but initially we had to do some workarounds to adapt their process to ours, this took some back and forth. But again it was quickly solved by Abound team. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** We used to generate INT-1099 forms, send them to the IRS and even deliver some manually for users that have not opted in for eDelivery, and Abound has solved this for us. Not only sending the information, but also making verification of users' identities. ### 5. In dealing with Abound, they responded to our issues very quickly, communicated changes to their API's that would impact us and were great partners through out the process of building our tax solution using their software. **What do you dislike about Abound?** I wish Abound provided more support when it came to tax "advice". With the understanding that they are not tax advisers, in certain cases it would have really helped if they were able to answer certain questions more definitively. Not necessarily providing tax advice or recommendations. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** Abound allows us to file complex IRS tax forms using their API. This allows us offer a one stop shop for our customers who are using our product to issue payments to 1099 workers. ### 6. Abound also regularly seeks feedback from its clients - and more importantly, we see improvements in the product and dashboard based on our feedback. **What do you dislike about Abound?** There are small dashboard improvements that can be made for continued ease of use - whether it relates to filtering or surfacing as much data as possible, especially for verifications or filings that are not successful. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a PSE we need to file 1099-Ks annually, and as our platform grows and the filing threshold is lowered, Abound provides an API-based solution for us to scale this process from beginning to end. We have experienced significant decreases in the number of forms we have to correct and questions to our support teams even while the number of forms we file continues to grow. ### 7. The team was amazing - super responsive and answered all our questions with such a quick turnaround. We had one issue where a system capability that we needed wasn't ready and the team worked tirelessly to get it up and running for us and monitored that it was working properly. We found Abound to far surpass Sovos' capabilities in terms of : 1) customer service, 2) ease of use and 3) responsiveness to feedback. We highly value the new relationship we've built and plan to partner with Abound for the foreseeable future. **What do you dislike about Abound?** We understood that we were one of Abound's first "non-API" customers and therefore provided some feedback on how the platform can better show user "checks" when uploading and filing data manually. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** Abound provides us with a straightforward way to file our 1099s at year end, as well as very the TINs of our new vendors during the year. Alex and the support team were extremely responsive and helpful from a support and technical support perspective. The documentation was comprehensive, readily available, and easy to understand. **What do you dislike about Abound?** When we did our integration, we ended up going with the drop-in UI approach. Experiences and white-labeling weren't available when we picked up the work but it would have been our preferred approach! **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're using Abound for W9 and TIN Verification. In the first iteration, we used the web interface. As we scale and expand the use case, we're using the API product to allow our users to verify themselves without our ops team being involved. ### 10. In addition to this, the team at Abound are experts in the field and can advise on how to best implement this functionality within your app. Never seen support like this before! **What do you dislike about Abound?** The platform has evolved quite a bit, and this is a good thing, but sometimes it requires us to make updates to our implementation. **What problems is Abound solving and how is that benefiting you?** Filing 1099-NECs for 1099 workers is often times challenging because you need to provide these documents to the user, their gig platform, state tax authority, and federal tax authority. Especially when you are having to do this for 10's of thousands of people, it isn't something that is managable by a human. Abound has really removed that complexity, and made it so you can create a delightful experience in your own application for these 1099 workers. ### 12.
