I started using Donorbox to launch a fundraising campaign, and overall my experience has been very positive. What I like most about Donorbox is how easy it is to create a fundraising website and manage everything through a simple, user-friendly dashboard. One area that could be improved is the payment process. I use PayPal to receive donations, and I believe the minimum withdrawal amount of $100 per month can be a challenge. This was one of the main obstacles I faced, as it may make it difficult for people running smaller fundraising campaigns to access their donations more easily. When I launched our campaign, I wanted to include the official Donorbox logos on some of the flyers we created, but had a hard time finding high-quality image files. I use Donorbox to collect donations for my shelters and other nonprofit fundraisers, and it’s so helpful. It keeps all the money in one place, and I can create and monitor multiple campaigns at once and see how they’re moving in the charts. It provides a clear and neat interface that is recognizable to users and models a flow of transaction that makes sense. It integrates well with sites like Squarespace, allowing for greater flexibility in its application. Being able to embed it into our Donation webpage was very meaningful. There are some elements of its function that are not immediately clear when setting up that affect its performance in practice, such as recurring donations having more limited payment options than one-time donations. This was something that wasn't fully clear in the onboarding process, and cost us some donations at a recent event due to the friction experienced with the giving process. We wanted a flexible, user-friendly tool for our PTA team. While I feel comfortable with SaaS solutions as part of my daily work, I wanted to vet a tool that I could comfortably hand off to others, since I'll eventually leave this PTA to move to the middle school. DonorBox made it SO easy and feel so seamless.

We're still getting established so I haven't discovered any gaps or pushed its limits yet. I think one area we could use more customization in would be automation. I'd love to have more specific levers I can pull about things like membership reminders. Setting up the payment processor was kind of a chore. It involved quite a few steps to link it to PayPal and a bank account. I like that people from anywhere in the world can donate, and it accepts different currencies, which is great because I have friends in India, the US, and Canada who can all donate easily. There are lots of options and customization, which is good. I can have the donor wall for everyone to see how much money has been raised, or I can hide it if I choose not to show how much has been raised so far. The initial setup of Donorbox was very easy. I found it difficult to change some settings. Like, when I wanted to hide the donor wall, I looked and looked and Googled how to do this. It wasn't so easy. I had to send Donorbox an email and they had to make the change for me. I don't find it as easy to customize certain things.
