We use basecamp for making connections with each other and also use it for the hangout option. The notification feature is also very good in basecamp. Which help you to connect with additional immediately. It also has a PING option where you can also chat with every employer personally **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** Basecamp has too many options for making the team connected, so till now I have not found any issues now, it is highly recommended for team communication, and I can say basecamp need to be up to date for the competition **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** We face mainly notification issues, and calculated leave for the team is challenging in others, so that problem is genuinely solved here. Also, its very easy to manage multipe projects at single place. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** Although, basecamp is a project management tool with all the necessary features but there is one thing that can be improved.The option to create User stories is not at all good. Its a basic To-Do and its difficult to quickly create the user stories in the print planning meeting. **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Basecamp to solve the problem of project management and task management at our organisation. I can easily work with colleagues and agencies, seamlessly. It's easy to focus, create and manage projects, update the status of a project and set clear expectations for delivery. This is, by far, the best and most affordable project management software out there. Their desktop app works great and doesn't bog down my system. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** The only change I would like to see is being able to open multiple projects at once. We have been using Basecamp for almost 15 years. During that time we tried similar programs and always came back to Basecamp. The others didn't measure up. One thing that we love is that there is no storage limit so we are able to upload large files regularly without worrying about space. We like that we can add clients to the project but they cannot see others. There are just so many ways to use this to meet anybody's needs and the cost is very affordable. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** Basecamp used to have a place to store files in a way that was easy to find. They eliminated that feature when moving to BC3. We have finally gotten used to it but liked that our entire team could access files all in one place rather than using a separate program for it. When files were uploaded to a milestone, they were automatically added to the file tab which we loved and would love to see make a comeback ;) **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Project management and being able to streamline projects when more than one person is involved. I have used many project management tools but after a certain time, it become complex to manage a project management tool. It eats up a lot of time of my working hours just to maintain a project management tool. In this particular case, Basecamp kept everything straight forward. It's easy to use and easy to manage. Love it. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** Well the chat application could be better. They say they can replace chat application but in reality it's not possible. MS Team or Google chat or even Skype has better features than Basecamp. You can not create groups on chat. The UI/UX isn't friendly enough to use it. To me it's just useless. **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Day to day project management and scheduling. I don't have to spend too much time on Basecamp for managing the projects. I can focus on my work while maintaining Basecamp with minimum effort. ### 8. I also love that i can create a template, move or copy to-do lists, tasks, folders, and documents across the different projects. Create infinite tasks for myself with due dates and link it to my personal calendar. The MyStuff tab is SO necessary - it's the best. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** If you are a Basecamp Admin - it is horrible. I can't see all the projects unless and individually add myself to each one. It is VERY time consuming - and add to the fact that ANYONE can create a project - i never know when one is created. As an admin I should be able to see every project, and what projects people have access to, without having to actively add myself and be "on" or "following" a project. And when reported to Basecamp - they couldn't understand the issue. The new way to add people to a project is very cumbersome as well. There are a lot of changes basecamp is making globally that we can't opt out of. I kind of wish we had stayed in Basecamp 2 - it was a LOT better for the way we use it. The only part that basecamp 3 is better is that you can assigna a to-do to multiple people, and the document folders. Other than that - WAYYYY worse. **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Basecamp was a way for us to solve the issue of communicating with hundreds of clients across our different accounts and tracking the progress of actions and decisions from the clients. ### 9. They may not have updated their review text, but have updated their review. **What do you like best about Basecamp?** An app that's designed to foster collaboration and encourage teams to self manage their projects. We've used every version of Basecamp and were delighted to migrate to Basecamp 3 a year ago. We love the new interface and easy navigation between projects and features using the jump menu. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** The one major feature that our team misses from Basecamp 2 is the monthly calendar, which we used to facilitate short term scheduling. The calendar has been replaced by a vertical list of chronologically arranged tasks, which gives you an easy overview of upcoming tasks but doesn't allow you to reschedule them easily. We've been forced to use other tools for scheduling, which are very unsatisfactory compared to Basecamp. **Recommendations to others considering Basecamp:** Compared to some other tools, Basecamp is lacking some features — if you evaluated Basecamp purely on a feature list level, you'd probably give it a miss. But we've tried most of the clunky feature rich products and their usability suffers because of their attitude to continue adding more and more features without considering the weight of the overall interface. This leads to many users ignoring their project management tools, or at the very least, only using them at their bare minimum required standard. Basecamp by comparison, is so simple and joyous to use, that it empowers users to explore and use it fully. **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** We especially like how real-time chat has been integrated into our projects; ensuring that our team is automatically always discussing projects in the right place, so that it's easy to search for important project decisions that were quickly discussed in chat and weren't formally documented. Before using Chat inside Basecamp, our productivity suffered using real time chat with Slack and other apps — where instant gratification of chat meant that documentation of important project decision were lost. ### 10. One thing I liked about Basecamp is its intuitive and easy-to-use interface; it is straightforward to navigate the platform and get what I need at any time; and the aspect I liked the most is the real-time collaboration; it makes it possible for us to discuss and comment in real-time on any project or task, which saves us a lot of time and dramatically reduces the possibility of misunderstandings. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** While it is true that Basecamp allows some customization, it is still limited and may not be sufficient for the specific needs of some users or work teams; the task management features are also a bit limited compared to other solutions, is project management. **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Overall, we have had a positive experience with Basecamp, and it has provided multiple benefits to my organization; starting with the way teams stay organized and in total sync; being so intuitive, it makes all users quickly adapt to using the software, and the calendar view customization option has been helpful to keep an overview of deadlines and commitments for the whole team; in addition to its wide range of collaborative tools, it also allows file and document sharing, which further facilitates team collaboration and idea sharing. ### 11. You can assign tasks with a deadline and users receive notifications about items. Also useful is the ability to store documents and track version history. The BC team has always been open to suggestions and improvements to the system. BC is straightforward and excellent for remote teams; we are a 50/50 group. It has allowed us to keep projects on task, assign work to outside members, and set follow-up reminders. I'd highly recommend BC to any company, BUT like any system, I suggest there be a person in charge of that system and its structure. Without it, like any system, things can get lost. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** I don't really have one. We're spread out over a few different locations, with many of us working from home. In addition to a spread-out staff, we all coordinate multiple volunteers. Basecamp has allowed us to centralize team communication, project planning and document sharing all in one place and cuts down on email communication as well! **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** There are a few minor features that it'd be great to see integrated, although all of the changes and improvements that Basecamp has made as they've grown have all been super helpful! **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Definitely having communication, project planning and document sharing have been beneficial, especially with many of us working remotely. This way of tracking progress has made it easy to know how far we have come on a project or where we need to go. Similarly, the ability to create detailed to-do lists - each with its own due date - is another great organisational aid that helps our days run smoothly! I also appreciate the file storage features, which provide quick access to my files, while providing secure methods to share data quickly and efficiently. Another plus point: The availability of Team Chat not only allows us to discuss urgent business matters, but also to brainstorm about sudden inspirations - all of which contributes to efficiency when working together! **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** I prefer Basecamp to other project management software such as Liquid Planner, but it may not be ideal for those used to a clearer text-based planner, as the atmosphere of Basecamp can seem more whimsical. A complete tool with powerful add-ons where we put all the processes and tasks from the company in: from projects organization to HR announcements, training and procedures. Today I manage more than 100 projects in parallel using Basecamp in a very organized way. It's great that the plan does not charge for every new user or project, it's limitless! For the volume of projects we have, it would be unviable to pay for each project or user (because we are a small company with lots of projects). Everything you need on a simple license and that's simply great. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** Some suggestions for the future of Basecamp from a daily user who loves the tool: The Campfire tool might be improved to accept audio and GIFs, especially for quick audio sent on a mobile phone. Also, it would be great to have a tab of all active Campfires (just like Whatsapp Web), where you can easily focus the conversations in one single browser window. Today, I can't fully substitute Whatsapp or Slack with Campfire (and it would be great if possible, in case of Campfire became more robust as a tool). Maybe even having a separated mobile app for Campfire, with usability focused on chat (as whatsapp), but integrated with the Basecamp projects, so we can keep all the corporate conversations on a unique tool. That would be perfect. The new kanban tool is pretty cool but might be better integrated with to-do lists (like the Tracked Add-ons), instead of having each card not connected to the task-list (or you use one or another). Also, Tracked has the tagging system that is very useful and for sure could be implemented on native Basecamp. When the native tool was launched, I thought I would be able to substitute Tracked add-on, but I could not. Also, it would be great if time tracking could be a native tool, without the need of hiring expensive add-ons (charged per user) to do the project's time tracking. While Basecamp 3 is well-suited for small to medium-sized teams, it wasn't enough for my team. Number 2 on my list would be limited reporting and analytics. The ability to look up a teammate and see what is on their plate is super helpful for one-on-one chats. **What do you dislike about Basecamp?** I can see that the price tag would deter some, especially if they are in a non-profit organization like myself. And the fact that it is not within the Microsoft eco system will mean some companies cannot use it, due to their security policies. **What problems is Basecamp solving and how is that benefiting you?** Staying organized is always challenging, and having clarity on who is responsible for what is a huge benefit. The best thing about Basecamp is that it has web and mobile integrations, meaning you can use this tool no matter the device.Message boards are for larger-scale communications like announcements and presentations, whereas Grou chats can be used in casual conversations with friends. What I like best about Basecamp is its user-friendly design. One thing that bothers me is feeling claustrophobic in crowded places. Fortunately, Basecamp doesn't have that problem because it's sleek and simple— but still really helpful. Another great feature of Basecamp is that you can change the due date for a project by just posting a note. Any team member responsible for the project can do this, and everyone will automatically get notified about the changes.
