The Perry County Transportation Authority (PCTA) converted to the Ecolane DRT system on August 8, 2013. Prior to our conversion to the Ecolane DRT, the PCTA was scheduling trips manually, providing our drivers with paper manifests, using two-way radios to communicate with our fleet and calculating and reporting data by hand. Additionally, the PCTA administrative staff were unable to perform compliance checks on our service. Since our conversion to the Ecolane DRT, our transit agency is operating much more efficiently. The system is very user friendly for all transit staff - from drivers, to dispatchers, schedulers, reservation staff, fleet manager and administrators. All data is collected on driver tablets and provides the dispatch staff with real time positioning of the fleet. Since all data is readily available and easy to view, the PCTA has incorporated monthly compliance checks on all trips performed by our transit agency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Ecolane? The Perry County Transportation Authority (PCTA) is still utilizing an older version of the Ecolane DRT. Ecolane has added features to the system that will make the system even better. We are patiently awaiting the upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Ecolane: We involved all of our staff in the process of setting parameters and we are all cross trained within the system functions. Our employees embraced the Ecolane DRT and are still very pleased with the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Ecolane solving and how is that benefiting you? We are reversing negative cash flow trends by using the Ecolane DRT. We are no longer printing paper manifests for our drivers and having administrative staff manually inputting the data for reporting purposes. We have been able to combine positions and reassign various job duties within our transit agency. We have saved time by utilizing the tablets to send messages directly to our fleet in real time and to be able to reassign trips to other vehicles in the event that the driver is running behind schedule. The PCTA is performing a higher number of passenger trips monthly at a lower cost. Our monthly fuel prices have been cut by 40% on average. Additionally, administrative staff are able to utilize their time performing compliance checks and maintaining the daily operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
