It is very intuitive. I've used Proof HQ in the past, and Ziflow is a 2.0 upgrade from that. I felt very familiar with using Ziflow. There are more tools than other online review web apps. It's easy to share proofs with colleagues and clients for their comments and approval. The compare tool is useful for checking the changes were completed and nothing was missed. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** You can only add one video/GIF to a proof at a time. It can often be tough to describe visually the thing you're pointing out, but with Ziflow you can draw a box around what you're talking about and leave the comment right there. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** I do sort of wish you could zoom out more from the proof within the window. For me it never zooms out from 100% and that can make the graphic seem larger than it is, and harder to tell its true context. **What problems is Ziflow solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am solving the problem of communication with a remote client, but also solving the organization issue of a huge document of text--that can lead up to a lot of revisions from the client, but since I'm having them put their comments in through Ziflow, I'm never digging through countless emails trying to check off one thing at a time. All the comments are right in Ziflow and I can go down the list. It's also 100% compatible for users, whereas if I used Acrobat instead, the other person would need an Adobe account to see comments made. ### 8. Our company uses it as a proofing tool for HTML emails, which is perhaps not the most common use. It basically works with a unique url provided by the ESP (email service provider) and renders the HTML in what I suspect is an Outlook for PC version of an emulator. Those who work on HTML emails will know what I am talking about. This is a blessing in disguise because Outlook usually has rendering issues, so if you do not have an email testing platform, this might flag something wrong in your code. Back to the tool. As with any software, the issues are what I notice. That means the rest of the time it works seamlessly, in other words, as expected. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** Markups are fairly easy and work as expected, but I have one issue: how comments get copied versus how something like Acrobat would work. I'll explain. When a commenter marks up "REPLACE TEXT original text WITH edited text," you have to manually and carefully highlight just the edited text and copy, otherwise, it will carry the WITH along. This is a minor issue but slows down the process as I can't triple-click to select the whole comment as I do with other proofing tools. Another area where it can improve is how comments are just grouped chronologically vs within a certain section. This means I might make an edit to a section and 10 comments later find out someone else replaced or deleted the text I made the edit to. Not a deal-breaker, but it could use some help. Overall, a great addition to our traffic/routing process. We used to email files back and forth and inevitably versions would get mixed up and a lot of time was wasted. The ability to directly compare past and current versions within the same window is my personal favorite feature as it allows me to swiftly confirm if a change from the previous version was made. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** The comment section takes some getting used to. The comments are numbered, but the numbering includes replies, and replies are usually collapsed, so comment numbers can go from 1, 2, 7, 11, 18, etc. which isn't as helpful as numbering only the parent comment. **Recommendations to others considering Ziflow:** If you are looking for a software to enable collaborative feedback on a single or multiple assets at a time. Ziflow is absolutely worth trying. **What problems is Ziflow solving and how is that benefiting you?** With Ziflow, far fewer errors are slipping through the cracks and the time we spend vetting our packaging files has dramatically decreased. We also are now able to have essentially a centralized database for our most up-to-date files rather than using simple desktop folders or storing versions and archives in DropBox or OneDrive constantly. ### 12. Not everyone wants to see everything all the time for a proof so the custom options are a great feature. I also really appreciate the amount of files that are supported like including working adobe files. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** I have come across a few bugs with the proof viewer. Things like commenting and then going back to the live proof can sometimes keep the screenshotted comment on the screen. I know how to fix this by just resetting the screen but for some this can be a little awkward and does look like a bug of some sorts. I've also come across a few "I wish this were a feature," like, for example setting automated deadlines that vary based on when a stage was approved. So you have a final deadline but a specific deadline for each stage that changes based on when it was approved. If not to speed things up, I would appreciate the option to change a deadline across all stages. We send our emails out at 11:45am so I set the deadline for 11:30am but I have to set this for each stage 1 by 1. Would be good to apply this to all. **Recommendations to others considering Ziflow:** If you find you are wasting lots of time with your current approval process, I highly recommend Ziflow. You'd be surprised how much time is wasted typing emails and attaching files. Ziflow helps with this so much and makes the approval process so much more manageable. **What problems is Ziflow solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's just great to have all my proofs in one place and eliminate constant emails back and forth. It's really sped up my workflow by not having to type up a new email every time it goes to each person for approval. The fact I can look at the Ziflow portal and see the progress and what I need to do is really great. I think that also goes for people proofing themselves. Everyone has picked it up very quickly, leaving comments and marking up on the proof viewer. ### 14. We are then notified by email that XYZ staff member has commented or reviewed the work; this is a lifesaver as before, we used to rely on 15 emails back and forwards to get the job done. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** Surprisingly I don't have any dislikes of Ziflow as it does everything we need to do. Version control and setting decisions on each proofed makes approving work so much easier and quicker. I can now see exactly what of the document a team member wants to amend stopping previous confusion when we used commented PDFs. I really like how I can see at a glance who has seen comment and make a decision on a piece of work. Also to see is looking live on the doc in the top corner. The tool is really user friendly and my team members picked it up really quickly. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** Only thing was that I was unable to add multiple documents into the same proof but that was because I was on the cheapest plan. I have now got my work to now invest in a business package so will h e access I to that tool now and more. **Recommendations to others considering Ziflow:** If you a freelancer designer or part of a design team I highly recommend it to you. It saves so much time and makes the proofing process so much easier and far less stressful. I have used it as both when I was a freelancer and in a company and been brilliant using for both instances. **What problems is Ziflow solving and how is that benefiting you?** One team member can't seem to receive the proof emails I send her but will contact t he ziflow team for help. The benefits I have got is that it has made design proofing so much easier quicker and saves a lot of confusion and frustration on each side. Also being able to have the whole team comment live and they can see each other's comments saves contradicting comments. You can use different colors/symbols and even sketch what you want to see in the next preview version. We work with 3D renders and the sketch tool is very convenient to make something clear. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** I don't like that we can not update an image once it's uploaded. For example, when I upload 5 renders in 1 proof and one get's uploaded it's not possible to exchange this and I wish this was possible. **Recommendations to others considering Ziflow:** I recommend while sharing Ziflow with clients to quickly go over the tool together so they understand how it works, if they don't use it correctly it might cause some problems in communication. We need to archive everything we do and having that digital proof is why we chose Ziflow. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** There is nothing I/we dislike so far! What is working out best for us: Easy cooperation between proofreaders and the layout team. Pipelines, keeping a history of the versions. The tool is not perfect, but there is nothing better for our use case. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** As we use big PDFs very often, processing these take a long time/ The search function in PDFs is awful. Copy pasting from comments to files is bit problematic from DTP team point of view. **Recommendations to others considering Ziflow:** If you need a tool for PDF comments across dozens of proofreaders, Ziflow is not perfect, but there is no better tool available yet. **What problems is Ziflow solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were exchanging information between the DTP team and the translation teams. Ziflow was the most intuitive and was the best balance of ease for our users and ease for our reviews. We were up and running quickly after the purchase and have had no major problems in the 3 months we've been on board. Ziflow support staff have been consulted 3 times for various issues such as how to change settings, and they were always quick to respond and provided solutions. **What do you dislike about Ziflow?** Versions vs. minor versions vs. stages is still tripping us up. The only way to see "In Progress" reviews in your dashboard is to use a tricky filter workaround. You can choose to be notified when review comments are made or to be notified when a decision is made, but you can't choose to have both. We also tried doing some online proofing of video content, but the side-by-side version comparison is nearly useless as soon as a scene timing changes from version 1 to version 2 or if a new scene is inserted or an old one deleted ... nearly impossible to keep them in sync but not Ziflow's fault. **What problems is Ziflow solving and how is that benefiting you?** With its extensive dashboard (but fast to find info), customizable notifications (we are on the Business Legacy plan), side-by-side version comparisons (one of our top needs) and continually updated checklist of unfinished reviews (super handy), it is such a huge improvement over Adobe PDF shared reviews that we had been using. Reviews are much faster now and nobody on our team is having problems with opening files or posting comments or posted comments disappearing or scrolling quickly through large files with many comments. I have had issues with multiple people who clicked this link and made comments, but they weren't signed in, so their comments showed up as if they were written by me. Because Ziflow thought I was commenting, it didn't notify me about these new comments and thus I didn't see them. **Recommendations to others considering Ziflow:** If you have a large creative team and are getting caught in the weeds with proofing and reviews and mistakes are slipping through the cracks, Ziflow will help fix all of that with its simple, easy-to-use interface. Gone are the days of email chain reviews and feedback getting lost. **What problems is Ziflow solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ziflow has helped our business fix errors more easily and ensures that all of our work is produced error-free. No more 20-deep review email threads with a comment saying, "on page 12, paragraph 3, sentence 4, remove a comma."
