The way I&#39;d frame it: a platform is worth it the moment maintaining your scripts costs more than the tool would. For a lot of mid-size teams that tipping point is the day the person who wrote the pipelines leaves and nobody else can safely touch them. If you&#39;re at &quot;a few cron jobs and a shell script,&quot; you probably don&#39;t need it yet. If you&#39;re at &quot;nobody wants to be on call for the data loads,&quot; you&#39;re already overdue. How many pipelines are you running, and could anyone other than the author fix one at 2am?
