## Lifted Reviews
  ### 1. Upwork is Fantastic

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nate . | FOUNDER, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

We used Upwork Enterprise to staff Benji the Bear across pixel-art design, motion graphics, React web, and iOS/Android work. The Talent Cloud + invite workflow lets me keep a private bench of proven freelancers and spin up sprints in hours instead of weeks. Milestone escrow, consolidated invoicing, and classification/compliance support mean I don’t babysit paperwork—I focus on deliverables. Dedicated account support, custom NDAs, and SSO keep legal/security tight without slowing down hiring. Practically, it’s the only marketplace where I can find a niche animator one day and a senior frontend the next, then pay them all through one pipe. It replaced agencies for us at a fraction of the cost and with better speed-to-impact.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

Quality is uneven and proposal noise is real—expect to screen hard. Ratings feel inflated, so portfolio review and paid test tasks are mandatory. Search filters could be sharper (too much agency spam for specialized roles). The Work Diary paradigm is built for hourly tracking, which is awkward for creative deliverables. Messaging is cluttered for multi-contract programs, and currency/withdrawal fees add friction. Disputes are slow and the contract templates lack a few enterprise toggles (IP assignment and kill-fee terms should be first-class). None are deal-breakers, but you need a tight intake, a 24–48 hr trial milestone, and invite-only postings to avoid churn.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What problems is Upwork Enterprise solving and how is that benefiting you?**
It fixes three pain points for Benji the Bear: speed, compliance, and scale. We keep a private Talent Cloud of pre-vetted creatives and engineers, so adding niche skills (pixel art, motion, React, iOS/Android) takes 24–72 hours instead of weeks. Enterprise escrow, NDAs, IP assignment, and worker-classification support remove legal/admin drag and consolidate payments into one invoice. That lets us run parallel sprints with a 24/7 build cycle (US + EU + APAC) and spin capacity up/down without payroll risk. Practically, it replaced agencies for us—lower cost per deliverable, faster iteration, and tighter control over who sees our roadmap. Net result: shorter time-to-ship, lower burn, and the freedom to prototype aggressively without getting buried in vendor management.

**Is Upwork Enterprise headed in the right direction?**
Select **Yes**.

**Reviewed by:** Tom D. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

We got Bubty to move away from using spreadsheets and to enable all of our community members to access a central portal. We really like the profile for each freelancer and use these externally in sales conversations. The main benefit though is to centralise our commercial project management, so we can easily add and remove members and then settle payments accordingly. This process saves lots of time each month and makes it easier for all parties involved. The platform is great and continually improving based on our feedback.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

As Bubty is a new product, there are sometimes some bugs and broken features. But this is a small price to pay for the customisation available and the speed at which the product is being built.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erica H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

It allows freelancers to work on both hourly and fixed-price contracts. The communication mode with a client may be via Phone call, Upwork Call or Zoom. Milestones can also be set on fixed contracts. Everything is okay provided all the terms are fully followed.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

The commission or fees charged is too much. A whopping 20% seems much. However, after earning over 500 USD, the fee is reduced to 10% and this is particular to each client.

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

I'll always recommend Upwork to my colleagues and friends.

  ### 28. You get what you pay for

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

Love the ease of finding talent, and the eagerness of talent to apply for specific jobs. There is also such a wide variety of skillsets available!

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

My team has learned that it might be cheaper working with foreign talent, but it's not necessarily the best option. Language barriers get in the way, and it is challenging to accurately assess someone's credibility and experience based on their profile alone. For instance, we hired a few designers who got great reviews but clearly faked their portfolios and faked the amount of time they were working on the projects. Their work did not align with what was presented to represent them in their profiles.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Upwork has assisted our team in large-scale projects. We have a small creative team, so to manage both day-to-day requests and large branding projects often puts a strain on everyone's bandwidth. Upwork talent has relieved that strain in many instances.

  ### 29. a great way to scale up and down your team based on workload

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luca B. | EU and ME Design Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

The fact that I have almost immediate access to different types of resources when I need them.
Managing the design function in an organization nowadays requires flexibility and a fast turnaround. You often don't get either the time or the resources to hire these skills; Upwork is a brilliant way to avoid having to do that.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

At times I found it tricky to communicate with freelancers as the level of English is not sufficient to properly carry on a project; it would be good to have an assessment if they can perform the work in a specific language ahead of starting the project with them.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly scalability and skills' gaps

  ### 30. Secure way to work and get paid

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Moses G. | Customer Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

I like Upwork due to your money security. This is a scammer no gone zone since once you offer a job and it's done Upwork provides money protection of the freelancer. It's also a good platform to showcase your skills. Its has both desktop and android application making your job application process easier

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

The hassle to get a job on Upwork. As a newbie in Upwork, you may stay even years without getting a job, this is because most clients look at your previous job performance, the rising talent, jb success, and paid amount. You might be good at a job but never get it. Upwork should find a way to balance this to encourage more people on the platform

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

This is a good place to start your freelancing career. Secure your money with this platform.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking for freelancing jobs. Our marketing team uses this platform t look for clients for our company.

  ### 32. Great services, pricing, and talent available on their platform.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe G. | Account manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

The selection and ability to research talent is excellent. It helps finding the right person for the job significantly easier. You can check bio's that include past jobs and examples of the designers work. You can check reviews from the talent options. Once you find someone you like to work with, it's so much easier to just send them jobs directly instead of leaving them up for open bid.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

There's not much to dislike that I've found thus far. If I could make any improvements it would be to make list average pricing for certain types of jobs. Some of the jobs are harder than others to determine a fair amount.

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

If you need a designer or similar talent in a pinch this is the perfect service to use. It's quick and easy to use.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm doing a lot of flyers and advertising materials. The biggest benefit is the ability to use multiple designers to split the tasks and the ease of replicating all of the instructions is crucial.

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

It provides me with a side hustle where I can earn extra money as a freelance administration support assistant aside from my day job as a customer support agent.

I love that I can sieve through hundreds of job postings and send a proposal to my desired posting.

I also love that it's remote so that I can work from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

I don't particularly appreciate that I get to encounter unverified paying job postings.

I also wish there could be various payment methods.

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

Upwork is a great freelancing site for new and experienced online self-employed individuals looking to grow carrier-wise and make a living.

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

Because my company has an Enterprise account, I like the extra recruiting service we get that comes at that service level. Personally, I love the BYO feature because a lot of our recruiting is by referral.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

There's not much that I dislike about the platform. That said, it would be nice to have some enhanced reporting features and the ability to add new members to teams on my own.

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

The platform offers so many options for engaging talent, and paying them. The environment is user-friendly and very easy to use. The Upwork team is awesome to work with.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I'm solving, and benefits my team is realizing are enterchangeable. We have been challenged with building scalable teams to support multiple verticals and using Upwork has been an awesome way to manage that. We've had great success with building our teams via use of the platform.

  ### 38. It's always great working with Terrence, Nick, Erica and Team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephanie D. | Lead, Visual Asset Team Project Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

Upwork team is great at helping us source photography talent. Monthly team meetings are informative and a great time to discuss potential needs and address any changes that may arise over time. Access to transaction reporting is extremely useful when we're tracking our spend against budget. Upwork team is always welcome and susceptible to feedback, which is great.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

My feedback has been from an end-user standpoint. For example, team names getting cut off in filters on the transactions page. Terrence is already working with the team to address this and make improvements.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our payment process for photographers has been streamlined thanks to Upwork. Britney and I can easily pay freelancers and communicate as needed on the platform.

  ### 39. It's the most safest platform that I deal with ever..

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iman Q. | Online Freelance Translator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

Well, it's a very safe platform that I can get my money without any manipulations. I can also reach various clients around the world from my home. I totally depend on it.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

I think the High fees on projects and some clients don't like to pay fees also. Recently, Upwork makes us have to pay a connects so we can submit our proposals on the job posts. I think it was expensive for us to pay for connects also. But nowadays they told us that they will give us free connects if we get an invitation and the client accept our proposal so we win the job plus 10 connects free.. That was amazing!

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

Sure I hardly recommend Upwork for any one who is looking for a job or wants to increase her/ his income.. You will meet clients from all over the world in addition to various projects that are related to your skills and education.
It's safe to Use by any one that the platform provides an advanced Digital wallet that keeps the money on until you finish your project.
In addition to a very professional customer support team who answer you quickly and solve any issue that you maybe meet it..

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I live in a conflict area so I can't get a job here.. Upwork makes me over these obstacles by providing me various projects all over the world.

  ### 40. UpWork is the perfect platform to source freelancers & dedicated paid contributors

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gianfranco C. | Head of Esports and Growth, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

I find UpWork very simple to navigate and easy to use. Once you register, it's pretty straight-forward to open "work/assignment requests" , or to look for side hustle and gigs to do yourself.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

Transactions reports should be worked out at little bit better, for accounts purposes we'd need to extract all payments sent / allocated for jobs or for freelancers. Current reports are showing data for opened milestones, funded milestones and released milestones (creating some confusions for financial teams).

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

I'd recommend UpWork for all types of businesses: from small companies / start-ups, to larger organisations in need of expanding their talent pool.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it extremely easy to source candidates for small projects and long-term work opportunities. In our digital era, we need platforms like UpWork to support with digital transformation, worldwide businesses and work in several marketing, development or tech-ops environments.
I've been working for a recruitment agency in the past, recruiting and hiring employees can be difficult and time consuming. Thanks to UpWork, we're remodelling the online business industry.

  ### 42. Upwork is a fruitful place where you can grow your skills and earn money as well at same time.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ahmed S. | Electronic Design Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

I have joined Upwork for only six months ago and i can truly say that i had a great experience working there. I like most how free i am to work and select the projects that i am interested to work in and when to work as well, unlike having to work on a project just because i am hired on a company. Also, i liked that i can earn money and gain know knowledge while i am home.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

there is no much things that i don't like on work. i guess what can annoy me a little is that i am always judged by clients' feedback. some clients may give poor feedback and it may be not my problem.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Upwork helps me to earn money whenever i need this. Also, gain more experience because i can work on different projects which makes me learn more.

  ### 43. UpWork has transformed the way we do business

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew P. | S, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

The best thing about UpWork is the amount of talent they have to choose from. Literally hundreds of copywriters, coders, designers, etc - and the bios/profiles of each make it easier to learn more about the contractor without even having to speak to them (quickly vetting them)

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

I wish I could divide my chats up between copywriters, coders, & designers

I also wish there was an easier way to export expenses by the contractor & also provide a high level summary of all monthly expenses

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're able to get work completed, when we need it completed, without having to hire someone full time.

  ### 44. Easiest way to find freelancers for our projects (big or small)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

Easy to post jobs and set milestones. An excellent volume of talent worldwide.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

I really don't have negative feedback. I like using the system.

**Recommendations to others considering Lifted:**

N/A

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding a designer with Adobe Illustrator expertise. Using professionals to help export videos out of Adobe Premiere.

  ### 45. Best place for quick and reliable work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

The ease of finding affordable and reliable talent

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

The large number of interested applicants - it can be challenging to separate the best talent from unqualified/spam accounts

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To this point, mostly data collection, aggregation, and scraping.

  ### 46. Best platform for freelancers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Himanshi R. | Digital Marketing Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

As i have been using it from 1 year in my campany .. its a great platform for creating ur profile , we can also apply for jobs as no shortage of jobs , as i said it's a great platform so it also allows us to get more work and plus point it came up with payment protection..
and for freelancers they can maitain their profile theri , showcase their skills , so from their we can chhose and interview them .

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

noo i like almost everthing about this .. but need little improvement on payment gateway

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We as marketing persons .. found clients there n do their projects as we are told ... like our clients give us a certain time limit for a project .. so if like tracker is for 10 hrs per week .. we do their work fir 10 hrs and send them .. so we get paid for per hour work .. it's nice i haven't use this before this year ... bt i found upwork very interesting.

  ### 47. Upwork was my first choice when I joined in 2018

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saad Z. | Project manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

I really appreciate the confidentiality and the security the website has when it comes to payments.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

Maybe the fee charge is overpriced. It’s not fair that a job with 10$ has the same fees of a job that is 200$

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The income problem and my technical abilities.
Upwork is helping me earning some additional money. In fact, Upwork now is my only source of income after I lost my job due to COVID.

Upwork is helping me as well to practice and improve my abilities in translation.

  ### 48. Great experience so far

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

I really appreciate how supportive the Upwork team has been to our Dotdash account. They have been a wonderful resource and always so friendly and professional. I like how creating job posts is a user friendly experience and milestones are easy to create and process.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

Since our company covers freelancer fees incurred by Upwork, the downside is having to do the math on adding 10% to payments that are not BYO. It is also hard to determine who are BYO freelancers as it is not clearly shown on the contract.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Upwork helps us keep billing separate for all our different photography teams, which is very beneficial when I go in to make payments on a weekly basis. It also helps that most freelancers are already familiar with Upwork or have a profile already established.

  ### 49. Trust Platform, Exceptional Service, Qualified Talent. A Recommended Resource to Partner on Projects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

Firstly, the Upwork consultants and accounts team are incredible. They consistently go out of their way to assist in our projects and help from billing to sourcing talent.

Secondly, the talent on Upwork is amazing. Once you get the hang after 1-2 projects, you can begin to build a "stable" of contacts for projects. I can especially recommend creative (video, graphic design, presentation) specific freelancers who have delivered impactful work at the fraction of the cost and time of a leading agency competitor. Some of these final projects have been used by our company c-level executives, and received compliments from our team's leadership.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

If there was anything to nitpick, it would be the user interface as it takes a little getting used to. After your first project it becomes pretty easy to navigate, and of course it helps to have an Upwork contact to help clarify questions as needed.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problems have been project cost, speed, and specialization. I find Upwork delivers work as good if not better than some agencies I've worked with, while costing half as much if not less on certain bids. The talent I have connected with on Upwork have become my trusted partners and have a great blend of strategic consultation meets tactical execution.

Net, if you have a tight budget and need quick + quality work, Upwork can be a great resource.

  ### 50. Pros and cons but important to supporting our business

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Lifted?**

Streamlines payment and reporting across hundreds of contractors, spanning the US and the globe. Support team - when we've had the right partners - has been responsive and useful.

**What do you dislike about Lifted?**

It's really expensive, including the instances where they're adding limited value. We've had good and bad experiences with our support teams, and when you have the wrong account managers it turns into a mess. The system can be rigid, which at times has caused hiccups and slowed our ability to run our business. They're always, always, always trying to upsell us on additional products, which, honestly, we have no interest in.

**What problems is Lifted solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need a variety of contractors to help support our business, and they can come from anywhere on the planet. Upwork is the best solution we have to centralize management and payment of these folks. In some instances the Upwork network is useful to find the people we need (but in most cases we bring our own talent onto the platform).
