# What can you do on Popl's free plan, and when do teams move to a paid plan?

The free plan gives you one card that does the core job from day one: sharing by QR and capturing the other person's details. Across recent reviews, the move to paid comes with additional cards, wider branding options and event badge scanning, and badge scans carry a cap even on a subscription, so it's worth checking before a conference. For event teams, the paid features are where Popl stands out, with notes and tags on each lead, CRM integration and badge scanning at the stand.

For event lead capture, it comes down to whether the card is for one person or a team. An individual can get going without paying anything, while a team capturing leads gets a follow-up workflow rather than just a digital card.

What I'd like to hear from people using it at events:

The free plan covering QR sharing and capturing the other person’s details from day one is a good way for one person to see whether the card fits how they network. The paid side reads more like a different job, with notes and tags on each lead, CRM integration and badge scanning at the stand turning it into a follow-up workflow for a team. For event teams, how quickly after the event does follow-up usually go out, and does having notes on each lead change what the first message says?
